  1. Hi Maya, We didn't use a lawyer. There are two main parts to the waiver - 1. explaining your religious/ moral beliefs re vaccines, 2. hardship letter. What do you need ideas for? Maybe send me your email.
  2. Update: few days ago I received an email from the consulate requesting my passport, updated medical and police background check, and 2 passport photos. Once they receive those, it would take them 4 to 6 weeks to process (that's what they indicated in the email).
  3. I had an interview in March 2023. Had to apply for a waiver. My waiver i-601 (vaccinations related) was approved in mid-February 2024 (I submitted it in November 2023). I have not heard from the consulate in Montreal once it was approved. I sent them an email but no response. At the end of March 2024 I saw they reopened DS260 form on NVC website and updated the date on the website where you check the visa status (the status is not changed, just the date). I updated DS260 and submitted the next day after it was reopened but no response. Do not know what my next steps should be (should I be renewing/ updating other documents?) Should I receive an information/ instructions packet from them in mail or via email? Anyone had to deal with the i601 waivers this year? If so, any info on timeline or process with the consulate in Montreal? Did you have to have another interview if the waiver was approved within a year after the interview?
