You can try. Send in documentation of the need for surgery and the issues your son has… No one can tell you if it will be approved but it is free to apply.
I would also like to warn you that even if the expedite is approved the issuance isn’t going to be quick just quicker…

Good luck and tell us how it works out.

Thank you. It's looking like Cairo is around 6-9 months. If i get the expedite approved, how long do you think it'll take them to schedule an interview?

  2. Hi All,

My wife was DQ'd last month and wanting to see if expediting my case for one of the following reasons would be appropriate. I know it's hard to tell but any info can help.

    1) my newborn son is currently with his mom. He was born in Egypt and is a US Citizen who has his CRBA certificate and passport. He is currently getting sick a lot due and has a weakened immune system due to the poor hygiene in the country. I'd like for him to come to America to get treated but he obviously can't be here without his mom.

    2) I have a major shoulder issue that requires surgery. I have no one to support me so I'd like to see if my wife can have an expedited interview to come support me.

    Thank you!

Have her scan the needed documents as copies are all u need for NVC

depending on what documents u submit to IRS for the ITIN,  get originals, u have till the 15th to submit tax returns for 2023,  make copies of all the pages of your returns before mailing them as these returns will be slow to process. I   believe u still have to submit these by mail to IRS and not online as IRS wants originals.

U have a long wait for the interview and at that time (it will happen after April 15th and at that time  a new I 864 will be required with 2023 returns so just copy and keep the documents

    Now just submit 2022  income

Thank you for the info. One follow-up questions:

    1) How can I get her to sign the W7? Just send her a copy, print, sign and return to me?

  4. Hi,

I'm currently at the NVC stage and one of the questions asked to determine which financial documents are required is "did you submit tax for the most recent year?" Given the tax season just started a couple days ago, I am interpreting 2023 as the most recent tax year. What's holding me up at the moment is that my spouse is obviously not a resident, which forces me to submit a W7 to get an ITIN so I can file "married filing Jointly". The problem is that I don't have her original documents with me here, so I am in a bit of an obstacle there.

Can anyone give me advice on how to proceed? Thanks

Hello, im going through the same thing but in Malaysia. I emailed them to get an interview and they havent replied yet. Did you eventually get a reply or did you have to do something different?

I had to involve my congressman. They were able to get me an interview quickly.

    Good morning everyone!

    My filing date was:

    January 28 2023

Being sent a Request for initial Evidence

    December 27 2023

I haven't received it in the mail yet and I'm crawling walls to know what they need. I sent everything already I thought. I'm sure this will delay our case.

    Anyone else been through this?

Should be in your documents tab

  7. So..not technically a name change, but my spouse is from a country that uses 4 names. The way I submitted the I-130 for her was FIRST NAME (A), LAST NAME (D), MIDDLE NAME (B,C). This means that her name when she comes to the states will be "AD". "D" is very distant and its not a name she commonly uses. At what point can I "change" her last name to make it "C" for example isntead of "D"?

Yikes... We didn't get a copy of the DS-3025. So far no RFE, but wouldn't surprise me if that comes up at some point while we wait for AOS. Did your husband end up getting the required vaccines/exam stateside?

Great advice for those preparing for the medical appointment!

can you post the name of the Facebook group?

But that's not how it works.  The "mail room" is a separate intake facility, where checks are cashed and paper filings are digitized.  Then the distribution is done by computer spread over multiple service centers.  That doesn't explain how the case numbers are created seemingly randomly,  but they are not working with paper files anymore.

To my knowledge, “IOE” numbers are purely electronic. Paper applications are given a different classification

  10. Hi All,

I've come across a website call Hiltites today which appears to give statistics on USCIS approvals day-by-day. Based on what i've seen, it looks like they're reviewing applications based on receipt number. Currently, they are reviewing the ones around IOE917....

I applied in Feb2023 and my receipt number starts in IOE977.. while a friend of mine who applied in July2023 has a receipt number of IOE676...

How can this be? Is it possible there are some conditions that USCIS looks at when generating the IOE number? (i.e country). I assumed they were assigned automatically and in order but apparently not.
