Got a text message ( but no email ) today that my case has been updated;

I have been scheduled for an upcoming oath and should be receiving a time and date soon....

I'm just barely realizing there are plenty of things wrong with my IO. Did yours get you to sign the back of your photo? Mine didn't.

I would not change or request an oath other than the one they're scheduling for you lol it will probably delay your case by a few months maybe more. I just read about people being scheduled to come back and sign the remaining things they weren't asked to do in the interview. With my luck that'll probably be me, and I'll probably be scheduled for the November/December oath. Is there a confirmed oath for November? Is it in Montebello?

I was given only 1 paper.

I was also ticked on the 2 boxes as you were.

3rd tick is on bottom most right side, saying that don't wait for letter, results will be mailed.?!?

There's only one box on the right side of the paper, it's at the very bottom and it says "see reverse" it isn't checked. On the backside it's general information about where my oath will take place and how to get there. Sorry, I have no idea why yours says that. Maybe here in California ours are different than there?

Just to fill you in. I called again about my interview appointment today. I spoke to a different person than yesterday and she created an electronic request for me to get me the interview date. She said I should from them by October 16th. They do not know what they are doing. Everybody will tell you something else. Thanks Hobokenworkngman and Jay2Pnoy for your advises and informations. I will keep you posted about my process. B.

Hope you get some good news soon, brsko. Is your case very straight forward? I don't understand why they haven't scheduled you for interview yet. Have you talked to anyone else from NY about it? I think there are a couple from our due date.

Just took my interview and got approved.

My only concern is that the paper IO handed over at the end of Interview says->

Dont wait for letter. Decision will be sent by mail. What does that mean?

How long is the wait for oath ceremony for holstville NY?

Maybe it means don't wait in the lobby/waiting area after your interview, they will send oath letter in the mail. At some places they will give you the oath letter after your interview, once you pass. So, perhaps they're just letting you know it will be sent via mail.

ETA: I'm looking at my n-652 and I don't see that anywhere on this piece of paper. It doesn't say anywhere that a decision will be sent by mail, or do not wait for letter. There are only 2 boxes checked. One for you passed the test of English and US history and government, and then congratulations! your application has been recommended for approval. blah blah blah. How many papers did the IO give you?

They are definitely not clear about this...

6 months per year? Per trip? They say it's per trip, so it doesn't make sense for me...

I consulted 3 immigration attorneys, they all said there is no reason for a denial, because my longest trip had a 5 month duration, so this is extremely confusing...

I couldn't find the explanation for that 6 month trips, they only say : "6 months or longer"

Let's wait and see :/

I really thought it was a total of 6 months any given year. Maybe if you post about it in the forum, someone more experienced can give you accurate information. Worth a try. This whole entire process can be so draining, and confusing at times, even with a straight forward case like mine. I don't think you'll be denied.

I applied under the 3 years. My longest trip: 5 months.

According to what she said, it doesn't matter if you travel for 5 months and return to the USA, then 3 months later you travel again to Brazil for 2 months (my case).

Well, according to the uscis website, applying under marriage you have to stay in the USA for at least 18 months and no single trips over 6 months. I made sure I followed their rules, but nothing else I can do...

I was always under the impression that we're allowed 6 months per calendar year only. It doesn't reset once you come back to the US, where you'd be able to stay for x amount of months and go again for another 2, which would make your visit 7 months out of the year. I don't know if that's even correct, but if it is, you'd be over in that year, and that would be an issue? You're almost at the very end, I hope it all gets sorted out soon for you.
