  1. You should be able to bring an interpreter. We did, but it was 5 years ago.
  2. Filing 130 + 485 for my step son. Want to make sure the filing fees are correct: i-485 = $1140 biometrics = $85 i-130 = $535 i-765 waived i-131 waived TOTAL = $1760 Thank you!
  3. What are your thoughts on the filing fees? i-485 = $1140 biometrics = $85 i-130 = $535 other fees are waved 1 check ok? Thank you!
  4. Since I got your attention... 🙂 Should we include certificate of marriage #1 + certificate of divorce for the marriage #1? I'm thinking since mother's maiden name was changed when she got married (and this is asked in the application form), this would be helpful / appropriate / not confusing...
  5. It's the part about having to explain the reason etc that bugs me, but I suppose that should be ignored. Thank you!
  6. Question about i-131 (and yes, I read relevant threads): is it still advisable to file it even if no plans to travel have been made?
  7. I'm having an address conundrum. In form i-485, what should be entered as the PHYSICAL address? The address in Russia? The address in US (even though this is just a visitor)??? Same for the form i-130!!! please help... 😞
  8. Question about i-765. What is would be the correct eligibility category for someone adjusting from B-2 to AOS? Is it (c)(9)?
  9. Yes, telling the future is tough... 🙂 I'm just not sure what to enter for intended travel. We don't have any plans yet. Or just provide whatever is likely?
  10. Is it worth bothering with i-765 and i-131, if my stepson is not likely to travel or work in the next year or so?
  11. Got it. I already filled out i-864 and i-864a. i-864a is the most confusing form I ever had to fill out... 🙂
  12. Thank you... I am beginning to rethink my approach. What if I file I-130 for my step son instead of my wife?
  13. I have a question about joint sponsorship. My wife doesn't have qualifying income, so my income would be used. Should she file and just list my income as well, or should we provide two I-864 forms?
  14. But my step son is already in the US. Is such a letter needed for the purpose of his AOS application? Also, should it be notarized (by whatever the appropriate authority is in the country his biological father resides now)?
  15. Another question, since his biological father lives abroad, do we need a written agreement of some sort from him, stating he doesn't object to his son living with his mother in the US?
  16. I asked very specific question and received helpful responses. Let's not get carried away.
  17. 😯 oh no! You got me. Great detective work, everybody. 🙂 This is not my biological son; this is my wife's son.
  18. Sorry for any confusion. Let me process the information you shared. Thank you for your help!
