Hi guys! My mom got her visa approval today :dance: :dance: :dance: She was asked 4 questions: what is your name? Your birthdate? Who is your petitioner? Petitioner's address? And the consul congratulates her, and told her she was approved!. Before that, the Filipino screener asked for our pictures together. That's it!

Please update my timeline. Thank you.

Hi. Kindly update my timeline please. I called NVC today and got a case number, but no IIN yet. The operator said call back after 20 days. Is that the normal waiting period for IIN after the case number was assigned? Thanks for any inputs.

Based on the number 4 of the checklist for N-400. Which is a list of documents to attach with the N-400 based on a marriage to a US citizen:

4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:

- Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or

- Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or

- An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.

So my question is, is it enought if I attached the following?

- Birth certificate of you child

- Copy of our online tax return for the last 3 years

Or I really have to include IRS tax return transcript, bank accounts ..etc

Thanks in advance for your help!

IRS tax returns is recommended. Most people used it. Bank accounts and other supporting documents that will show joint ownership will serve as a strong evidence between you and your husband. The more supporting documents and evidence you will include, less possibility of 'RFE'.

Getting married on Saturday. I will then need to do the aos. I read where it says to send a front and back copy of the I-94 form? They kept this form when my fiance entered the country. All the Immigration officer did was take the top of it off, write her alien number on it and stapled it inside of her passport. What am I to do?

That's all what you need, the half of it, with her alien number. Photocopy that, front and back and submit it with the rest of of the aos documents. Good luck!

congratz ! what i read from other memphis interviewees ..... the oath may take some time, but who knows .....

I heard, there is an upcoming oath ceremony this coming May 16 it's either Knoxville or Greenville. I was hoping Rylee and I will be included in this batch:) who knows? Lol!

Hi guys!!! Thank you all for your best wishes, prayers and support!

I thought I would write my experience since there are hardly any posted online for Dallas filers. So here’s my “report”…

  I got to the USCIS testing center at about Noon. My interview was scheduled for 1.45pm so I pretty much hang out at the parking lot (in my car) doing my last minute "studying". I walked into the building at around 1.06pm and there was barely anyone in the security check point. The security officers were nice and friendly. The gentleman asked for my appointment letter and for a second I thought maybe I came on a wrong date (he was like so you got an appointment today? I was like... ummmm today is the 10th right? He paused and looked at his watch then smiled and said... Yeah, today's the 10th!!! Anyways, he asked me to put my cell phone, camera and any other electronic devices in a bin, my purse and my "evidence" bag through the machine, and the rest was the same drill as going through airport security. I was then directed to go upstairs to check in. Once upstairs I checked in with this lady... very nice and friendly at the desk. She asked for my appointment letter and asked me to have a seat and wait for my name to be called. That was about 1.15pm.

  The waiting area was packed, so at about 1.40ish pm an IO called my name. He led me to his office where he asked me (before I sat down) to swear to tell the truth, and I did. He then asked me for my Greencard, Passport (if I had one) and my Driver’s License then he let me sit down. He introduced himself as Officer Garcia. Then he asked me to state my full names, date of birth, social security number, address, phone number, etc. He pretty much went over my application and verified all the information on it. Omg… my entire file was right infront of me containing all my “stuff” from the beginning of my immigration journey!!! Anyways, he went as far as how I came to the States…. Asked for the reason for my divorce of which I stated and employment and he seemed intrigued by what I do! Lol So we kinda talked about that for a while. Finally, he was done with that part and started the testing portion.

  Questions asked were as follows (Not necessarily in this order):

  1. What is an amendment?

  2. What is the supreme law of the land?

  3. Who vetoes bills?

  4. What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of Allegiance?

  5. Who did the United States fight in World War II?

  Then before he asked me the last question he paused to chit chat (lol) something about my job then he was like ok~ last question, hopefully last question (I just smiled).

  6. What is the capital of Texas?

  For my reading test I was asked to read, “Where is the white house?”

  For my writing test, “The white house is in Washington, D.C.”<br style="mso-special-character:line-break"> <br style="mso-special-character:line-break">

  So he finished by letting me sign some paper work and my photo then congratulated me saying I passed. He handed me my Interview results form. He stated it might be 4-5 weeks before the oath and walked me to the door. Overall he was great! I had fun! I walked out of the building by 2pm. Almost there people!!! Congrats to all who have made it this far and for those who have had any kind of progress. Hang in there folks!!! We are almost done!!! YAY~!

  When coming downstairs I saw folks being sworn in at the oath ceremony. They were clapping, taking pictures some were recording the whole event! Yay~~ for them! We are next!



  For those Dallas filers still waiting for their interview, you will most likely have same day oath if your interview is scheduled and done with by 11am. So that’s the good news for some. I got the afternoon slot coz I live so close to the USCIS office and they give the morning slot for those living far. HTH

Had my interview today. It was a great experienced, a stress free indeed! The entire process lasted less than 30 mins. The IO was nice and very professional. He verified all the information that was indicated on my application. He asked me 6 questions that I answered correctly.

Questions are:

What is one promise you make when you become a USC?

Who is the governor of your state now?

Where is the Statue of Liberty?

Name two U.S holidays.

What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

Who is the first president?

He gave me a piece of paper and asked me to read it.

"Who lives in the White House?"

He handed me another piece of paper and instructed me to write what he say.

" The President lives in the White House"

After that, he asked me: what do you think of the interview? I answered, I think I'm doing good. He said: do you think so? Or you do so? Lol!

He then printed the paper that says I'm recommended for approval. That's it! I'm looking forward to hear an update for my oath ceremony soon!

To the rest of January 2012 filers, good luck to all of you. Im hoping that you all have a good interview experience without any delay or unexpected problems that you might encounter.

My heart beat suddenly stopped when i checked my status online and read this:

On January 9, 2012, we determined that this N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was not properly filed. Therefore, we have rejected your case and returned it back to you, including all supporting materials and any fee submitted. Please review the instructions on the rejection notice you received prior to re-submitting your case.

During the acceptance step USCIS reviews newly received applications and petitions to ensure that they are properly filed (i.e. signed by the applicant, appropriate fees, etc.) USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant or petitioner.

Applications and petitions that are not properly filed are rejected with an explanation of why the application is rejected and the corrective action needed. Rejected applications or petitions do not retain their filing date.

The acceptance step is typically completed within 2 business days of when the application is received. With mail time it may take several weeks for you to get the receipt or rejection notice in the mail. If you do not receive your notice within 30 days of mailing your application, please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

We are filling out all of our Docs G325A and came accross a minor issue. My fiancee has the worlds longest middle name I swear to the man above. I cannot even pronounce it lol. She is able to get all the letters in the box at bottom of form but the box at the top she cannot fit the last two letters of her middle name in. I am going to recommend she just hand write it in that portion. Is this good advice? Just don't want any issues or delays.

She can manually write it down. As long as it is clear and you can easily read it. And besides, they can double check it at the bottom portion as you mentioned that it fits in that box properly.

What G-1145 e.mail notification? And were can I get that?

G-1145 is a form that you need to fill up and send it along with your application if you wish to receive an email or a text notification confirming that they receive your application:)
