  1. Don’t panic. My husband I started dating online Dec 2020. We didn’t meet in person until March 2022. We were together only 5 days. We got engaged and when I got back I filed for K-1. March 2023 I went to his country for a week and a half. Met his family and friends. K-1 came through October 2023. We also have a 14 year age gap, I (female) am older and twice divorced. Even with all those red flags we had great evidence and were approved. Married, adjusted to a green card. One more year until we go to remove conditions! You’ll be okay.
  2. I found the answer! I'm leaving it here in case anyone else searches for the same question. I had to call USCIS twice to get someone that actually knew. For K-1 Visas, you will NOT be assigned a DOS Case Number until you get a green card. Therefore the Verifyme and mye-verify through your USCIS account are not able to be accessed by K-1 Visa holders, even after receiving your EAD card.
  3. I went to create my husband his own USCISaccount... except the account never asks you who you are. I'm not sure if you can use the "confirm your identity" section before you're issued a green card. we're still in the AOS process.
  4. This actually a really good suggestion, thank you. Yes the account is under my name. I’ll see if I can do that.
  5. so this is incorrect for K-1 visas which is what’s frustrating. They do not get this information printed on their visas.
  6. So I’m wondering if we should be concerned the site keeps saying it’s not correct? Or if the system is always having issues.
  7. I’m trying to verify my husband’s identity through the USCIS tool so we can do a myeverify. However this requires a DOS number, which is not easy to find for people who entered the US on a K-1 visa. I THINK I finally found it on the print out for his interview back in Argentina. However, when I use it in conjunction with his A number (applicant number) it says it’s not correct, even after making sure I’m using the correct number of digits for the DOS number. Can anyone shed light on this? Am I using the wrong number for DOS? I’ve checked his visa, all his paperwork that’s been sent and I cannot find this if that isn’t the number.
  8. As I've seen happen to others, we received our biometrics screening appointment notification in the mail the day after the appointment. I immediately called and got a friendly person who filed a request for a reschedule and got the the whole "you should hear back from us in 30 days for the reschedule" message. In reading through similar posts, it seems like just doing a walk-in is advisable because we may be waiting forever to get this rescheduled. The only issue is we live 3+ hours away from where the local office is and I can't easily take time off work to take my husband just to get rejected for a walk-in appointment. What are our chances if we just show up? We're through the only service center in Maine if that helps. Thanks!
  9. I apologize if this has been asked before. Searching got me no where. The instructions for when the National Visa Center contacts the beneficiary with instructions say that the contact may be by email or mail. Is there a default? Does it depend on what country the beneficiary will be interviewed in? I’m just trying to prepare my fiancé for how he will receive the instructions.
