  1. Hi gang.....been a while since being on here... gotta few Qs for you guys....I am a US born citizen and i married a filipina which now has her 10 year green card....ok, my 1st Q is: i want to get my step daughter(wife's daughter) to USA, or is it better to let my wife file? we were married in philippines and wife came to USA under the CR1 catagory in 2011.. i've read all over VJ and read post after post...the more i read the more i get confused... can my step daughter get here faster under me filing or let the wifey??? ....2 do we need to file the I-130 or am i overlooking something as to where we don't have to file anything..

  2. Yes Congrats to everyone for making it this far... for those still waiting, it's all most over.... just hang in there... My Judy arrived safely, today is her 4th day here i still wake up every day and look beside me to see her just to make sure i wasnt dreaming.... it is real , it is good!!! this was a long journey for us (3 1/2 years).... But thanks to God's grace , visa journey , and skype and YM , we made it!!

it is a wonderful feeling to have her home... to go the places i only dreamed of with her.... good luck everyone on your new lives together...and to everyone .. give yourselves a big pat on the back....You did it!!! this nightmare process is finally over... Wayne(booger)

  3. Well we also have some good news... Last week my wifey had her interview. everything was fine except she forgot to bring her old passport for them to see.. they put it on hold awaiting on the passport..... Well , this evening i called them to see if it is done already and the lady said as of this morning(philippines time ) it is approved and the visa is expected for printing in a bit....:dance::dance: Omg i am walking on the clouds, after a 3 and 1/2 year journey it is now down to about 3 weeks tops b4 she is here ,,,,,,,,,Thanks my VJ family... God bless everyone ... Wayne

  4. Congrats it sounds like it was successful interview which counts the most, and from what I've read here on VJ it's a good sign when they take your passport because they need it to stamp the visa in there~! I think they usually don't say your approved right there at the interview and just say some usual protocol phrases like "everything looks good" or "we'll call you if we need anything else" etc..

Thanks Jen , and congrats to you too ... i have said so many times ... "If we can get through this, then nothing's impossible" ....

i dont mind the extra wait NOW, cause her sister is visiting next month and she wanted to see her before she left to come here.. so its ok , the visa will arrive in perfect timing to get her on the plane march 14 or so ..

Oh BTW Jen , Dont forget to inform the people at the POE that you have been married more than 2 years so you will get the IR1 ... if not then they will put Gert as a CR1.. just a reminder . .... Wayne

  5. Will do , thanks everyone. i was kinda stressed about the yes or no thing until my wifey told me additional info about her interview... She said AFTER the interview with the CO , he told her to go back outside and wait for her number to be called..... she said she filled out a white form with her personal info( name ,address , phone# ...) for delivery of her visa... i didnt know that info at first till this morning when we talked in more detail about the interview ... ....So... i think we are ok ..

Sounds positive booger. Let us know when the visa arrives! :)

  6. Hi, she was in Japan for 8 years ,(6 months at a time) . she included her sealed envelope Japan police clearance in her interview docs.. what was the problem with the passport was she didnt bring the old passport to the interview just the new one.,,, her old one was about to expire so she got the new one with her married last name on it .... she never used it yet cause she never traveled since it was issued... so like you said, they want to confirm the dates with her police clearance... i guess i am still being paranoid on the whole pass /fail thing... i guess i need to get my mind off it..... ;)Wayne

They want to confirm the entry and exit dates from Japan. Sounds like if no Japan police clearance is required, the visa will be approved. How long was she in Japan?

  7. Hi everyone, My wife had her interview and they gave her a white slip saying they wanted to see her old passport to see her arrival/departure stamps to japan when she worked there... thats it, ... they didnt say pass or fail they said everything else looks good just want to see the old passport... they gave her a paper to send the old passport to 2GO courier service to send to the embassy... they kept all her documents and new passport.... so , from what i've been told, as soon as they see the old passport, they will issue the visa... so , i think we are approved after they look at the old visa... any reply is appreciated...

she has already sent the old visa to the embassy.. they delivered it a few minutes ago ... so now.........wait wait wait
