  1. Apologies. I was looking for clarification from those recently interviewing in India. By the looks of it, NVC only sends out Appointment Letters by email these days, as you state, including to those in India. Thanks for the info, and if anyone with a recent appointment at Mumbai can confirm this, I'd be appreciative.
  2. Hi Darth Vader - curious how your medical exam experience at Apolllo Hospitals Chennai turned out with just the email serving as Appointment Letter. Did they accept the NVC email as proof of your appointment, or did you eventually get a 'hard copy' letter from the NVC? Thanks, and sorry to ask you this here...PM-ing you wasn't working.

  3. Thanks PaulaCJohnny. Would you mind clarifying in which country your consulate was based? Anyone interviewing in Mumbai go through with only a printout of the NVC email as the Appointment Letter?
  4. Hi everyone, I was notified three weeks back by email from the NVC that my mother's IR5 category Immigrant Vsia interview has been scheduled at the Mumbai Consulate for August 11. Should I expect an 'Official Appointment Letter' by regular mail, or does the email from NVC count as the Interview Appointment Letter for purposes of the medical exam and for entering the consulate? The email is from 'National_Visa_Center@state.gov' and looks pretty comprehensive (case number, reminders etc.) but no barcode or seal. I note that others on this forum have encountered a similar situation, but what ultimately happened in their cases is unclear. Thanks in advance.
