Hi there! When I went for my interview at the Johannesburg consulate, they returned my original birth certificate but kept all original police clearance certificates (which was annoying because of how long it takes to get these done in SA)! They’ve not returned them. I can’t speak to marriage certificate bc we did the K1 route but similar to the birth certificate, I don’t believe they can keep that one! Best of luck!
