I guess if you already have biometrics from the recent past when you have crossed to US and it matches, they might not do it again. By the way, we received our physical/plastic Greencards!

Congrats !! How many days did it take to receive the physical green cards. Must feel great to be finally done with the wait for everything . Happy for u .

We had our interview in Montreal today for EB-1.  It was approved and CEAC is showing "Issued."  They asked very few questions, most of the time was spent providing original documents and finger prints.  Our questions were what I intended to do for work/was I going to just find a job once I approved, if either of us had previously been married, had either of us ever lived outside of Canada and where we planned on living once we arrived in the US.  There were no issues updating our address or passport.  We were in and out in under an hour.

    @3LabMom Congratulations !

We crossed the land border from Toronto over the weekend to activate our EB2 immigrant visa. It was very smooth process that was completed in 30mins or less. The officer asked for sealed packages, original passports and confirmed US mailing address to received GC. He took fingerprints and photo as well during the process and we were good to go. No questions asked regarding importing our cars or the final move.

This almost brings us to the end of never ending EB2 Immigrant journey ( though final move for my wife and son will be pending for sometime). We couldn't thank enough for the VJ forum and support throughout the stressful process and will continue to be part of the forum. Happy to help/answer any related questions whenever possible.

Wishing very best for everyone still going though the process for their journey to end at the earliest possible.

@ACC24 That's great news,  Congrats. Which land border crossing did you use ?

We will be crossing land border from Toronto soon first time to activate our Immigrant Visa. We are not planning to import our cars ( Toyota Highlander 2011 and Honda CRV 2007) right away but will do eventually over couple months. Will this raise any questions by the border officers that we need to be aware of? Thanks!

@ACC24 All the best . Everything will work out fine.

Yes we have citizenship in that country

@Leeching Spouse Great! We are considering this. Do you need to write to the embassy of the county we want to move our case to OR  to NVC requesting them to move our case. Do we provide proof of citizenship/residency while requesting the move ? Please let us know the process it will be helpful. Thanks !

I want to share that we were able to transfer our IV case to another consulate given that we no longer reside in Canada. Happy to share back when we receive IL. I will remove my name from the tracking sheet.

That's great news!! Hopefully you will get your IL soon.

Can you please share the steps to transfer the case to another consulate? Thanks.

Just wanted to confirm this further: I joined a very large group on Telegram of applicants who are or have gone through this process until the end. All attest to the fact that the DQ date is the only thing that matters. So now I feel pretty confident of this answer.

@immishok I was looking for this info too. Thanks for the detailed answers here.

Also can I get the link to the telegram group. Would love to join it too. Thanks !

I also read on IR/CR forum that once you activate your green card - you immediately lose your Canadian medical coverage. I wasn't able to find a confirmation in any official resources, but it's something you also need to take in for consideration.

I have read many posts on this too. Also wondering if there is anything on an official Canadian site that confirms this?

🤔🤔I don’t know why USCIS takes so long to send some approved petitions to NVC… BUT at least you know where it’s at.  Nothing to do at this point in time but wait..I would keep checking though every week.

This  is another good thread to read about such issues. Looks like a lot of us are faced with these delays.
Hope you hear good news soon. Good luck !!

I would go with the new CDC recommendation.  We went with exactly what was required at the time for our age group.   After the long wait of almost four years we went over and above to make sure we had everything in place, to the point where we had our Police certificate done four times, and our photos done three times, because some sites said they had to be within six months, some sites said they had to be date stamped, and in the end they just took the photos and didn't even look at the back.  Also as I mentioned in my previous posts Dr. cheema was very easy to communicate with beforehand so if you have any questions you can email him directly, and he answers in a very timely manner.

Thanks. That's great will email Dr Cheema with any questions I have.

The whole Police verification, vaccines and getting all other documents ready process is painful. It must have been tough for u to redo the police verification so many times. Glad you are done with this now.

Official list of required vaccinations by visa applicant age here -- https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/vaccinations.html#tbl1

Requirement for Hep B vaccination is a recent change by CDC, that's why it's not on the clinic's list yet.  Make sure you get it if you are 59 years old or below.

COVID-19 vaccination is also required.  Boosters are not required for the visa medical.

Thank you for this valuable info.

  12. I know this has been discussed before, but need some extra information.

Does anyone have any idea where to find the latest list of immunization needed to be completed before the interview. We have very old records and want to start working on missing vaccinations. We wanted to request for a titres test to check for immunity of the vaccines  needed. So want to be sure what vaccines are necessary.

I was looking at the age range 18-64 years.

@Sorrel  as you had recommended, I looked at Dr. Cheema's  website for the list of the required vaccines (based on age). It seems a little different from one found on this pdf,  I have attached.

I saw the MMR, TDAP, Varicella as required vaccines (these coincide with what is listed on Dr Cheema's website).
Is the Hepatitis B vaccination a requirement for Age 19- 59 (this is not on Dr Cheema's list) ?  Any other vaccinations besides these ?

Since you had your interview recently do you remember what were the vaccinations the doctor checked for? Thanks !!

  13. We have some progress too. Got an email from NVC that they have received the petition and will send detailed instructions soon. Looking forward to more good news in next few days. My case status still shows approved.
@Surulere has your case status changed now ?

Thankful for all your help and support so far 🙏.  I know it is anyone's guess, but how long does it usually take to hear back with the welcome letter?

@JustHopefulAny update? Got a response to my service request from uscis that my case is currently in line to be sent to NVC but case tracker is showing "case was approved".

@Surulere Congrats !! That's great news. Looks like some movement in your case. Hope you receive more good news soon.

We are  waiting still. Our case tracker also says "approved".

Did you receive an email or a call back from uscis?  What are the exact words in the response - is it - " case is currently in line to be sent to NVC " ?  Maybe the others can respond if anyone has gotten such a reply and how long it takes for the case status to change after this.

    Hi,

I got an email from my Attoney that NVC sent the frm DS-1200 with application ID and Invoice ID on August 4th. Seems like NVC didn't send welcome letter rather DS-1200. Also it mentioned to send documents via physical mail.  Today i paid the fee and waiting for the processing.

    Hope this information helps.

    Congrats !! That's great news.

No update. They were told it can take up to 30 days to receive a response from Ombudsman, and also 60 days to receive a response from USCIS. They are at wit's ends. Lawyers recommend just waiting...

OK. That's a long time to receive a reply from Ombudsman - I thought their website stated like a 7-10 days reply timeline. Maybe a lot of people are raising an Ombudsman request and they are backlogged too.  The waiting is so painful, we can all relate to that. Hope your friend gets good news soon.

@susana_1983 and @JLVS22BR  timeline for reply from Ombudsman looked very promising. We were contemplating the Ombudsman request, since  there is no other option left to explore.  Still worth a try, we have to talk to our lawyer. Any suggestions on what to do from the others on this forum ?
