    My husband has been actively pursuing employment since he arrived in the U.S. (beginning of July). He had temporary work authorisation (flew into JFK for this reason only), and received his EAD a few weeks ago. He is authorised to work, and he has sought out employment to do just about anything.

    Here is the issue. Many employers here look at a green card as a litmus test of employability. They don't seem to see the EAD as good enough proof of his ability to legally work.

    Is anyone else going through this?

    I know some people had multiple EAD touches...

    Did everybody have BOTH "card production ordered" AND "approval notice sent"? we had 3...

    9/29 card production ordered I-765

    10/2 card production ordered I-765

    10/7 approval notice sent I-765

    Darren's EAD was updated with the same info ("card production ordered" AND "approval notice sent") a total of 4 times, but the actual date on the card when it arrived was the first date.

    I only live 4 miles from work, but to use public transport I would have to catch two separate buses and spend an hour and a half in transit.

    Orlando's public transit is only effective in two places, downtown and at the attractions.

    I wish we had effective public transit; I would love to use my car for emergencies only...
