  1. Hi Everyone, we made it through. 11 months of DS-5535 hell is over. We filed a WOM with Goldstein on July 29 and received our Approval notice with tracking number for my visa courier today. Words can't describe the relief we feel that after 2 years and 11 months since filing our application, we can finally move on with our lives. I wish all of you who are still waiting the best of luck and strength until you too, make it to the other side. If you haven't filed a WOM and are considering it, don't wait. I wish we had filed ours much earlier knowing it would give us our lives back.
  2. Yes, the Dr. told me this too (reopening emedical portal for repeat medicals), but then Lilly told me because I am K1 there is no portal for K1s. I see you are EB-1. Perhaps the consulate is the problem (likely). I would email the consulate and remind them to open it along with the request they sent you to get it done. As we all know, they are a mess over there. My first medical took 2 weeks and when I showed up for my interview they said they didn't have it. I showed them the email from Dr. M's office that they sent it and poof! they suddenly "had it". 🤦‍♀️
  3. So strange! Same doc. They had appointments same week I called and got in really quickly. My medical was Oct 3 and results were sent into consulate on Oct 7. I got an email from them confirming submission. BUT because of my age, i didn't have to do blood tests (I am 47), so that likely made it faster for me. I think 2-3 weeks is the standard waiting time for medical results to be uploaded, and they do email you once it has been completed. I would email them and ask for Lilly, she is the practice manager.
  4. Still here! 🙋‍♀️. Consulate requested that I redo medical and send in passport on Sept 26th. Everything has been submitted now, sent a follow up email to consulate. Now waiting on them... again... (Filed WOM July 29, defendants served August 15). There are a few of us that have now submitted all requested documents (redone medicals, etc.) that should be receiving our visas very soon. We have a WOM thread going in DM to discuss movement on our cases so as to not clutter this thread...
  5. Great article. Would love to see the next one focus on the human conditions aspect of this process (less on how it affects businesses and corporations) how it affects mental health, and dig deeper into the stats of the "epidemic" issuance of the DS-5535 in the first place for family based visas, especially for Canadian Citizens. A great start none the less!
  6. @topman sorry that you are now a part of this unfortunate club. It's a horrible place to be in, and yes, we are seeing very few, if any cases in this group move through to approvals without a WOM since March 2022. Every law firm is different in terms of when they will consider filing a WOM for you, but we have heard that the most popular ones, will start the process after 4 months of being in DS-5535. It takes generally 2-3 weeks to onboard and draw up your suit paperwork and then another 20 days or so for the suit to be delivered to the defendants. From there we are generally seeing a 2-4 month waiting period before the visa is being approved. ~45 WOM cases have been filed against Montreal in 2022, which we believe is slowing down the historical efficiency of filing a WOM, as the consulate can't keep up and are frequently (almost all cases) requesting time extensions on top of the court appointed decision date, and they are getting them granted. We waited 7.5 months in DS-5535 before filing a WOM and if I knew then what I know now, I would have filed much sooner. We are finally at the end stages of our WOM, with the consulate just having requested my second medical to be done and to send in my passport. We filed at the end of July and there is no way we would be unstuck if we hadn't filed as WOM cases are likely fully prioritized over non WOM cases in que with more and more WOMs being filed weekly. Best of luck to you!
  7. Yes, there was one created by @herecomestherain but it hasn't been maintained, and no one new added since June. @herecomestherain perhaps you could put screen names back in, put a WOM column in it and open it up to be maintained by individuals if they wish? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GySrwbar5E0dzY4DCJ8s0eagm1up6TxedDBTPYiOlJw/edit#gid=1745669763
  8. you could also ask for a travel history report from the Canadian Government, but I did this and it never came... https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agence/reports-rapports/pia-efvp/atip-aiprp/thr-rav-eng.html
  9. you can get the last 10 years through the I-94 website "travel History". For the other 5 years I pieced it together through old calendars, social media photos, etc. Just do it to the absolute best of your ability. https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home
  10. I'm sorry, I misunderstood you. You did use the consulate courier service. In my experience, and I have only sent something this way once, it arrived the next day but took a week for the consulate to acknowledge it, but it was not a passport and I am not close to finishing the process, so you might see action sooner. Good luck!
  11. That's strange that you didn't have the option of the internal courier? I am not sure how long outside couriers take for the transfer, unfortunately. Sounds like you are almost there though, so congrats! I'm guessing you were not issued a 5535 and only in AP? What was the reason if you are comfortable sharing and when was your interview?
  12. I'm sorry you had/are having a bad experience @A.Jon.Satko, definitely frustrating. When did you file? Are you out of Montreal (I ask, because there is no phone # for Montreal, so for them to suggest that is also terrible)? Did the suit work, if you are finished, and if not, are you getting action on your file? Agree that this is a massive money grab for lawyers, and they all charge around the same price. I hope at least you are seeing some positive results!
  13. Unfortunately we don't know this for a fact, but no one in this group has been approved out of DS-5535 without a WOM since March 2022, based on the data VJ users have disclosed. Indeed, VERY unsettling and depressing. Wish we had filed a WOM after the first 4 months of AP, which is when our lawyer is recommending people can start the process. We just filed at the end of July. My interview was in Dec 2021. When was your interview?
  14. Based on the experiences of everyone in this group, you may or may not receive an email saying they received your email. I for one, never received one. And you likely won't hear back from them in a very long time (also based on the entire experience of everyone in this group). I am so sorry you are in this club, the DS-5535 club that no one signed up for. This spreadsheet is not kept up to date as far as I am aware, and much of the data in column D is incorrect (the date should be a couple of days after the interview date) but it can give you a good idea of how long people have been waiting for - there was some weekly/monthly movement before March 2022, but then no one that we are aware of has been approved out of DS-5535 since without filing a WOM. There are many of us filing those suits now, which seems to be the only way to get out of DS-5535 in Montreal. If you have not heard anything after 4 months of submitting your DS-5535, I would consider contacting a WOM lawyer unless you are prepared to wait which is almost a year for some of us now. This is hard to hear, I know and perhaps you may be one of the lucky ones, but the data shows those are non existent since March, so it's better to be prepared for what you are potentially up against. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GySrwbar5E0dzY4DCJ8s0eagm1up6TxedDBTPYiOlJw/edit#gid=1745669763
  15. I think the only way to get a hold of them now is through the email they are communicating back to you with: Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov Did you send your documents through the Montreal consulate delivery courier? If so, you should have received a confirmation receipt and there would have been a tracking number you were given at the post office to ensure it was received by them.
  16. Yes, that is what we are seeing in the WOM group for those who have to repeat medicals. You have to have either had the Hep B series or have immunity through a serology test if under the age of 59. Dr. M has a new vaccination checklist which also includes sign off on Covid vaccines. See here: https://www.visadoctor.ca/uskur/attachments/file/11baa1a6-bac6-45f8-a396-96155cf99415/18-64years.pdf. But in expected fashion, no one is telling anyone this. So be prepared and get a new checklist signed off by your GP before the medical!
  17. Ridiculous. They likely have OP3 (the most common respondent of inquiries) doing actual processing work now so they don't have anyone to answer the emails...I can only imagine how many they get per day, and of those - they serve no purpose other than us reminding them we are still here, so makes sense that they want to limit the use and only send out emails when they need a response or something. From an operations perspective it makes sense, but it sure is frustrating.
