I think letter says everything clearly:
- Don't mix form editions. Use the latest at the time of filing
- Include all pages of form when filing
- Include evidence for fee reduction (read I-912 instructions). At least most recent W-2 is needed
Yes don't mix form editions is a obvious mistake I missed when final checking it after wife rewrite page 3.
I-912 I did read but seems it is only for fee extention now. Anyhow, I checked multiple sources on requirements. We both sent 4 weeks of paystubs, 3 years of tax transcripts and bank information.
I feel good about our packet now except for why is states the check amount we sent was wrong.

100% they will reject it for mixing pages from different editions. That is why it was rejected. The rejection notice says "If you submitted I-912, Request for a Fee Waiver, or this form is available for a Fee Exemption, the determination of the Fee Waiver or Exemption has not been made at this time." They didn't even consider if the fee waiver is valid or not.
Yeah I didn't request a fee waiver. We just did a reduced fee. 380 dollars. I figured I'd send it back with the mixed edition corrected with same check. The part that bothers me "Payment amount does not match the required amount for what you selected. Then again at bottom "Please resubmit with appropriate fees"

So my wife's n400 has been rejected twice. I am a bit confused as to what we are doing wrong in regards to the reduced fee amount. I have included pics of our receipt letter and part 10 of the form. Our check was for 380 which the fee schedule shows. Any idea what we are doing wrong?
As for the other things mentioned in rejection we figured out and believe we have corrected. My wife messed up filling out page 3 of n400. When she reprinted a new page a new edition of the form came out. Page 3 was new edition and rest was old edition. Old edition is accepted for few more weeks but the mix of the 2 had them put page 3 back by the evidence and say it was missing. Could this have anything to do with the fee problem?

Thanks Jeanne, I bookmarked this. Instructions I was looking at was more complicated and not direct like the one you shared. This should make it clear as day for them. Also, I feel 100% confident now they didn't know what they were doing.
Arken thanks for reply. She got here 4 days ago. They informed me when at office that I need to wait 10 days before they could do anything for something to show up in system. With your 2nd quote I think it's best just to wait anyhow. Maybe things are faster now. I will stop stressing. Give it 2 weeks and then attempt to teach the nice green behind the ears ladies at SSA difference between non-immigrant and immigrant visas.
Everyone here been so helpful. Can't say I'm thankful enough. I used this site mainly just by reading and felt greatly educated until the last few steps on this two year process. Thankful I was able to fix my confusion.

Also the i551 we have is at the bottom of the visa. States this is a temporary i551. Idk if we ever get a permanent i551 or this is what we use
-
Thanks for reply. After hours on the phone with USCIS and SSA main number I am convinced the local office never deals with this much. So you are probably correct. Next closest branch hour away. Any kind of odds that it automatically comes? Hard for me going to another one as I work first shift. Debating on waiting or taking another day off

Yes I did. The lady said she needs information on i94 to enter into system.
I just checked our ds260. We answered yes on the last question. We agreed to share the information to homeland security and SSA. So this means we will automatically receive it?
-
So I took my daughter and wife to local SSA branch yesterday. They allowed me to file app for daughter with her crba document. They said my wife needs a i94. I explained she entered on a ir1 visa and immigrant visa holders don't get a i94 but they insisted she should of received one.
At this point I am a bit lost. Do I have to wait for green card in mail before I can apply for her SSN?

Thanks for responses and help everyone. Wife got her cfo done in 1 day. Getting ready to book her flight for friday in a few minutes. Just to be clear... There is no other fee that needs paid before she goes through immigration? Paid the ELIS fee today. Just recall reading she should of received a payslip from embassy for something that needed to be paid or else US immigration wouldn't let her through. Sorry if dumb question. At this point, everything running together in my mind. Been a crazy long journey. Hoping to hold the ship steady this last little part.

Apparently, I was reading old posts so I expected a sealed envelope. I called embassy they told me exactly what you said hank. I asked about the 220 homeland security fee needed to enter through immigration. The lady said if the embassy didn't give us then it isn't required. That doesn't make me feel confident so I will be sending extra 220 with my wife just in case. Or is it better to just go ahead and pay using a number on visa? As far as uscis ELIS fee. I am not sure. It isn't sounding familiar. I know I paid all the fees in each step of the process but I will double check that if I can figure out where to look again. Haha. Thanks for reply and help hank

My wife got approved after interview. She only received to information pamphlets after interview. Today she picks up her package at lbc branch. The only thing inside is her passport with visa in it.
It was my understanding she should have received a sealed envelope to give to immigration. Also a payslip for homeland security fee. We have nothing with alien number or I'd just pay it.
Not sure what happened here. Our case was expedited. Ir1. Does this happen sometimes? Only medical record she received to take with her was the shots she got. No xrays. No sealed envelope... Is this a problem?

Hunny thanks. I messaged wife name. This part of the process has me lost tbh. What I thought I knew is incorrect apparently. Where are you getting these release of dates for SLEC and USEM from? Do they release new month of dates on certain days?

What is your status on CEAC? Has the case file arrived at the embassy? As noted by others, appt opening are limited. As for the medical with the way things are in the Phils now it may be a good idea to wait until you have the interview date.
You can call to schedule by calling
Scheduling the Interview by calling:
Call (632) 854-882-23, (632) 779-289-88. This service is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except on Philippine and U.S. holidays. Callers may speak with an English-, Tagalog-, Ilocano-, or Cebuano-speaking operator.
Applicants, agents or petitioners calling from the United States may also use this service by calling (703) 520-2235.This is the visa application process:
Thanks Hank. That is the number we called and they sent us a link to email to schedule interview. Our case status depends on who you ask. I have waited a total of 7 hours on the phone with nvc in the last week. My experience is the website, checker is always delayed. My case was showing at nvc all of last week. Nvc said it just hadn't updated and it had already went through transit and is ready. Since then my case on website updated to manila now. If you use the case status checker it now shows in transit. Using my conversations with nvc as a guide my status will show ready in about 3 days.
As for the medical. Does a medical check expire? If there is a backlog there too... Maybe it is better to get that out of the way as long as it doesn't expire. I felt like I researched everything up to this point perfectly but this part isn't how I rembered it. Appreciate the help everyone

You are competing dates with others that are Expedited as well. Are you processing spousal visa IR1/CR1? Have she done medical at SLEC? There are stages to undergo prior to leaving Philippines.
SLEC medical - slec.ph >> if she is clear, she can interview. Otherwise, 3 months delay for Sputum, 9 months~ delay for TB treatment
USEM Interview >> May and June Dates have been opened and currently no available. You will have to try to your luck to grab those that was canceled by others.
CFO - when visa at hand, you will need CFO certificate/sticker to be able to exit Philippines. cfo.gov.ph
hope this helps!
Thanks for response. It was my understanding that you set up medical after you get interview date. Is this wrong? That is why I said 6 weeks. From research I did. Interview is 4 weeks approximately and you do medical 2 weeks prior.
-
Also if I assume I will have to wait until June to get a date scheduled. Getting my wife here before my mother's operation first of July isn't realistic is it? From what I've gathered 6 weeks process after receiving date. Sorry... Just lost my father and now serious situation with mother this new path has devastated me. Thought I could have some support here soon

Our case was expedited at NVC and approved due to death and sickness in family in US. Which was good news in a bad situation. Was told to contact embassy to take next steps.
We were sent a link where we did application for interview only to find no appointment dates available. I can't help nut feel like we got sent down the wrong path here. We got expedited only to compete with available dates with everyone else?
If this isn't a error, really hoping it is as I need my wife right now, any tips on checking for new available dates? Some open in mornings when embassy opens or first of the month?
Thanks for any help. Thanks for previous help also. I haven't posted much but the good information here led to a successful error free process.

Well this topic pulled me out of the shadows. Long time lurker. Many people here helped me complete the process problem free. Well almost complete. Waiting on interview notice but according to report we are few months away from interview. Looking at 1.5 year wait time for our cr-1.
I would like to comment on the getting married in the Philippines timing. Maybe some other places take longer but excluding the little preparation of my asawa going to city week prior for a couple documents. I flew into Philippines, stopped off at cebu for a document... Flew into iloilo picked up documents that were ready from week prior and bought wedding dress, food ect. Went to province to prepare everything for ceremony and do marriage counseling. Talking 5 days of work in reality of which most was preparation for ceremony and party. Just find out what ya need and plan ahead. Really pretty easy from my experience at province I got married at.
The worst part is the marriage certificate. Double check information and push for expedite right away.
The problem these guys are warning you about is real. About 6 years ago I fell for a girl from Angeles city. Dumb... I spent a year living in Angeles with her. Thought I knew her but took that long for the costume to fall off. Funny enough the girl I married was at the party when I proposed to my first gf in the province. More to this story but getting off topic. Thanks to the help of a flower lady from big city I tracked down my asawa a year later. Married her with only spending days with her. In conclusion, the problem these guys warn of is real. My first Philippines relationship is proof why you don't do this. Was a snake hiding in the shadows. With that being said I then got married to my asawa with days together. It was a requirement of her parents for them to give blessing to us traveling Asia for few years. Something special from the moment we met so I went forward with it.
So really no perfect answer here as each situation is different from my experience. Where she live? What her history? Ect. I would think a few days together in person should be a minimum.
As for the timing on k-1 or cr-1. We was at embassy yesterday for our daughter crba. Talked to 4 different girls. It all seemed to back up reports here. K-1 interview wait much longer and cr-1 much shorter. I don't think there is a concrete system for these interviews as many people here got dq after my asawa(3/10) and already have interview date. Overall, if I was starting new I'd choose to get married in Philippines again. Just stay away from Potomac service center. One of those places are like a fourth the processing time
