  1. Hey y’all !

We apparently were approved on Thursday 1/26. There seems to be a lag with the app. I encourage everyone to check the USCIS website directly.

We had a 11/22/21 NOA1 date no expedite. So we were approved almost exactly at the 15 month mark even with the holidays thrown in.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to do the scans for this month and previous months. As a long time lurker those numbers kept us hopeful.

Good Luck to everyone in the waiting stage and those on to the next steps. 🤞🏾

    Hi PKKS:

I too had hope for October when USCIS (briefly) showed 10.5 months processing time when they changed  the display from a range to a single number. Interestingly the fine print then said that this represented their internal cycle time, which is the amount of time it would take them to process the current backlog.  Assuming that the number of cases is (roughly) constant and they were working at a (roughly) constant rate, that would have put us in late Sep thru Oct.

However this brief hope was soon dashed by reality.

1 - Soon after posting the forward-looking 10.5 they changed to a backward-looking methodology that uses the 80th percentile of time to completion over the past 6 months. The revised number was 13. According to  detailed daily processing data obtained by diligent folks on this forum running scripts against the USCIS check status page, this 13 months is accurate.

2- In order to achieve 10.5 months going forward they will have to average on each day more than the average number of cases in the backlog.  There is currently no indication that they have achieved this rate.

3 - The number of June applications processed so far has been miniscule.

Our best hope for a Halloween treat is that after the March announcement of the intention to reduce the backlog they actually have more adjudicators who will come up to speed this summer.

    Hey Nuba

I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I guess our best hope now is a new year's, and maybe a valentine's treat. Hope you and your partner are keeping spirits high. Here's to hoping.

Yeah! Totally agree. I am hoping for a late october, early november... and last resort december. I am really hoping for what happened last month to be the norm where they randomly started working on june cases mid-may. If that becomes more the norm... than Halloween is hopeful!

Honestly, I am just dying for them to finally be done with March and April... cause that had dragged on a bit.

Here's to a wishful rest of our summer! 🤞🏾🥂

Hello fellow Nov 2021 filers. After reviewing the detailed data on this site about I129F processing, sadly the processing time is still running at 13 months. No sign yet of any backlog reduction in K1 land.

    Nuba! Right here with ya.

My hope is that we either get notices by Christmas.... or they do what they did last month which was starting to work on June cases. I am hoping for October more than December !🤞🏾

Thank you so much! Glad it gave y’all hope🤗 You can follow our timeline so you can get notifications when we post updates on our timeline. That’s what I did with other people that are also from SA and I would see their journey/progress. SA does not have a backlog (thank goodness) so once this torturous stage of USCIS is over for y’all it should be pretty smooth from what we’re aware of😊

I know right that is the only thing that keeps me encouraged knowing that after we get NOA2 .... it should get better! phew 😰

We got our K1 approved today, thank God. We waited 413 days, April 26, 2021 filer. We are still in shock. My heart has still not stopped beating rapidly for the past 2 hours lol. Thank you for the daily updates on here @Xiaova and the daily updates in the April spreadsheet @CJPinEcuador . We hope and pray for the best for everyone. May we all be reunited with our loved ones soon 💫

Congrats! Fellow SA K1 journey here (November filer to be exact 😓). This gives us so much hope. I hope you guys keep posting updates about your journey so I know what to expect. Best wishes to you both and Good Luck!

@Xiaova Thank you so much for your commitment to daily scans and updates. These numbers truly keep me hopeful and even a little excited to see the progress being made. I hope you get your approval soon !

  7. I have a similar question....

I tried researching this information online and via VJ to no avail. I am the petitioner for my fiance and will be completing the AOS by myself. I make more than enough to meet the poverty guidelines for what would be a household size of 2 (him and I, non-military).  I was recently asked to be a joint sponsor for another family member's AOS because their sponsor does not make enough. I initially declined given that I have to sponsor my partner. However, now I feel bad.

Does anyone know if there is a problem or red flag with sponsoring a  future spouse and being a joint sponsor?

since its 100% of poverty guidelines for K1 , remember its 125% for the AOS after marriage

and if there is any chance for a new baby along the line (before the interview for AOS),  take that into consideration too

and don't feel bad to say No,  about being a joint sponsor for a another person  / its a lot of responsibility especially if its signing the I 864 for a family visa

Hi ! Thanks for the feedback.

That is my exact concern is the addition of children. And it is for signing the 1864 for my aunt because her son (my cousin) does not make enough... which he only seemed to realize now?

Not to be Debbie Downer, but 10-13 months highly unrealistic. Current times are 13-15 Months (they are still processing end of March and have just started April 2021). lets hope that the processing times picks up. But USCIS has been nothing but disappointment.

Yes, I am aware. Some people are getting their NOA2 at the 12-13 month range. My hopes is that once the recent federal funds given to USCIS to improve processing times that go into effect next month will get us closer to the 10-13 month range or less.
