Yep, resubmitting the forms would probably be the best thing to do I suppose. I just hope it doesn't happen again. You'd think the recent price-hike would make for some faster/better service...but oh well. Maybe I'll include a loud buzzer with this package so they can't loose it Then again, that's probably a bad idea.

Another question I have is does this effect the time it will take to get her work card? She's really getting depressed sitting around the house all day and she wants to work.

Tell me about it .. i been sitting around at home without no SSN ,job, georgia drivers license for 7 months now.... extremely frustrated and depressed (i was stupid too should have applied for the work thingy)

This is becoming common with the USCIS. Just send them what they want (again)

Something like this happened to us. USCIS claimed that our AP application had missing information and whatnot. I made an infopass visit and asked the fools there to show me where I made a mistake. They showed me the note saying I didn't do such and such, I literally pointed to them where I did such and such and they still refused to accept that they made mistakes and said that we would have to resend the AP application.

We were about to resend it when we thought otherwise and opted to save $170. A few weeks later we got the Green Card interview.

USCIS and expecially the Infopass offices are full of really, really stupid people.

hi! my I-485, I-765 and I-131 were sent sept 12 and delivered by USPS 2:26 PM September 14, 2007 in CHICAGO, IL. its great that they are sending at the NOA earlier because i am also very eager to start with the driver's permit. its no joke to be totally dependent to my husband for months now. by the way, i was just wondering when your check was cashed.

i came acorss this I-131 (advance parole? doesnt that make it sound like im some kinda of criminal but anyway) and wondered how to file and wat are the requirements... i tried to read the instructions over and over .. rather confusing

does anyone have an idea of how to file this thing?

does it have to be an emergency?

could i send the advance parole thingy in the same envelope as my work permit app?

i know that sounds confusing lol what i was trying to say was .... i wanna send i765 AND i131 at once they both can be done at the same time where i sent my AOS which was chicago yes?

I know there were lots of the same problem in the past before the fee increase.

It was recommended to sent separate checks.

One for AOS and one for biometrics.

Sucks but I guess it's a bit confusing for them to add things up.

Should be pinned here somewhere so others don't have the same problem.

Better yet be put with the fee increase notice.

I just noticed that some people are getting asked "how did you get engaged" at the interview. Me and my fiance didn't really make it official... It was just always accepted for the last few years that we'd go through the immigration process, get married and that will be that. No engagement rings, no getting down on one knee or anything like that.

But how should I answer the "how did you get engaged"?

Also, what if they notice I'm not wearing any ring? Should I wear one just in case?

I had my biometrics in the afternoon 12 pm and the card production was ordered by evening..

unbelievable...how come USCIS is getting so efficient???/

hello everyone... im new here...i have a question, when filling for the K-1 visa, do i need to send a "single status certificate" in the package? i already have one for my bf due to the fact that he doesnt have a passport yet, but do i need to get one for myself? I was told that we were going to need our birth certificates (which i have) but do i need to proof that im free to marry him? thankssss

My Fiance and me are thinking to get marry in court next week so we can apply for AOS immidiately, and have a big reception in Janury which my parents and friend will attend ...

I am applying for different jobs now but who will hire me with JFK temporary work permit? that's why we decided to have court ceremony, but how it will look in AOS ceremony?

i totally agree... i have been living here in georgia since Jan 07 .. without SSN because they did the same thing to me when i went to their SSN office and i bought it (i dint know any better at the time so ) so now im just waiting on the AOS which sure is taking forever (been over 6 months now)

i came to the US with K-1 visa. my husband and i got married .. we sent the papar work ( i 485 i believe) to chicago on April 15. went and got my finger prints done 3 weeks later then my case got transfered to California on May 15 (2007) ......... i never heard anything from them ever since ... called the customer service several times they couldnt really answer my questions...they just told me to wait...so i kinda feel stuck at the moment because i dont have no social security number or drivers license (well got one from home but i was told i couldnt use it ??!!!) i didnt apply for work permit because again i read a forum and they said it should take more then 3 months for the green card to be issued

we live in georgia by the way ... i went and tried to get social security once when we first got married.. the lady at the office said my i-94 was expiring i only had 14 days on it they needed 15 ' !!

does this happen alot??
