I looked up our exact dates to give you a bit more context. It was just over a month between each.
DQ: April 4, 2022
Notice of interview: May 17, 2022
Interview: June 28, 2022
I hope this helps you and best of luck to you!!

@Madrismo for us it was about a month to get the letter that we had an appointment at the HK embassy. Then the appointment was a month after that. So about 2 months from DQ to the actual interview. Interview was June 28, 2022.

At what stage was he challenged? At the embassy or prior to that? We were asked for additional documents for "proof of domicile" in the US, at the NVC stage but once we got to embassy interview stage all of that had been accepted and was in order.

Has anyone tried rescheduling their interview date? The NVC phone line is now suspended so all inquiries through the public form will take more than a month for a response.
I would try contacting the embassy directly.

Re: UStraveldocs reconfirming appointment. We had the exact same issue. It's very odd. We seem to be able to put our address in for the return of the passport but we are not able to confirm the appointment through the instructions they provided. We are going to contact the embassy via e-mail to confirm just to be safe.

@bite2019 Very exciting that your hubby received the interview date! When is the interview scheduled for? My hubby was DQ'd April 4th (IR1) and we are really hoping it speeds up now that HK is opening up a bit. Congratulations to you! You are almost there!

Hi! May i know when was you DQ and what visa type are you? Congratulations!
@eng - yes, very excited to hear you have an interview at the end of May. Could we trouble you to share the type of visa you applied for as well as your DQ date so we can try to estimate our timing as well. Congratulations once again and we hope all goes smoothly for you for the rest of the process.

How do you know if you've been "DQ'd"?
When you log in to NVC, you will see a message in your "messages" tab, saying all your documents have been approved and then the words "Documentarily Qualified" in the body of the e-mail.

Two questions for those of you who have had experience at the Hong Kong embassy:
1. How long from DQ to interview (typically) in recent months?
2. It looks like the Hong Kong embassy has temporarily stopped non-emergency via interviews since February 25, 2022, does anyone have any insight on this or how long the backlog will be when it re-opens?
Thanks so much in advance!
Hong Kong Embassy - how long to schedule interview after DQ

The interview can go ahead as scheduled. They will just make the visa processing conditional on you getting the criminal background check completed. I would suggest getting the letter from the embassy requesting the CNCC check from the Hong Kong Police force. Keep an eye on the website for last minute open appointments. I was able to get one of those. The criminal background check will then be sent to the embassy and you can arrange to pick it up. I got the Canadian embassy to give me the letter and it was really easy. It would be possible to get it all done in 4-6 weeks if you can get lucky with the HKG police station. Good luck!
