hi everybody. i sent my n400 file to texas on 22 december and arrived to there 24 december 2012.my fingerprint date was on 14 januarry 2013.almost 1 month and 6 days passed on my application date.when i check my case at case saerch on uscis webside they still showing me that on januaary 2 2013 we mailed to you fingerprint notice and bla bla thats it. still no letter or no txt no email about any developing stiuation.i m living in philadelphia pa.how can i learn if thet put me on inline interview ??and anybody who had an experiance in phili??pls advice and share your experiance .. thankyou

Processing time is +/- 5 months, could be 3 month or 6 months. If there is no changes within 90 days you should contact USCIS, 1 months and 6 days is nothing to worry about.

A little bit of statistics if you are interested:

It's amazing how fast most of the people in this forum were racing through the first 4 steps from SENT to BIOMETRICS. I don't want to kill your buzz but now it's time to involuntarily slow down and relax a bit!

I got a chance to scan the most recent timelines for July, August and September 2012 N-400 filers. If USCIS continues the trend in 2013 we should

• receive the interview letter within 30-90 days after biometrics are completed, depending on the field office as usual
• have our interviews scheduled within 30-45 days after receiving the interview letter
• have our oath ceremony scheduled within 30 days after the interview (if not already done on the day of the interview)

If everything goes well and you get lucky with a non-busy field office, the whole procedure might be completed in as little as 60-75 days (March/April) from now. Those of us with busier field offices (like New York) are looking at 90-160 days (June/July).

These are certainly only average timelines. I saw some people flying through the entire process within 90 days from the "SENT" date. Some discontinued their timelines after the bio, so it's hard to tell if they are still waiting.

You will love my answer...."it depends". In all the years I've been stalking...err....reading this site, the COA seems to be a common freak out topic. It need not be if people are diligent in following up with the USCIS. First things first...file your change of address with USCIS only after you have closed on your home, not when you sign the purchase agreement. I say this because thing can happen during the home buying process and you want to be 100% sure of your new address. That can only happen after you have closed on your new home. Imagine notifying USCIS of your new address before closing, then something happens....you get the picture.

Of course, don't forget to notify the post office as well: https://moversguide.usps.com/

After all that, be diligent by constantly checking your case status online. It shows when they sent out communication to you via mail throughout the process. Sucky part is they don't have a history of communication online, meaning as you advance through the different phases, they overwrite the previous online messages....hence the reason to check everyday. That way you know when they sent you something...from there you can gauge if you received the mail to your new address. If you didn't get anything, CALL!

Best advice, don't move! Hahaha. Reality is it isn't a big deal so long as you follow up with USCIS and your new home is within the US!

I have a questions people,

I am trying to find a house to purchase, just sent my citizenship paperwork. If it happens that I find the one and my process is still pending, does changing the address work? When I filed for my GC 5 years ago I remember hearing horror stories about people receiving mail to their old address and missing interviews, biometrics, etc.

NOA stands for Notice of Action. USCIS sends this letter to let you know that they are processing your application. It inclues dates, case number, name of the applicant etc. The NOA is useful in case you need to inquire about your case in your local office, travel out of the country, etc.

Well, I didn't get married to come here, I was on an F-1 visa, but was due to our marriage that I was granted the PR. And yes, that's the truth...I have never believed in "a soulmate," but rather in soulmates, one loses some in the path of life until finding one in the right moment at the right time.

I just want to verify after doing a search in the forum. I am eligible to file for citizenship in January (90 days before my 5-year PR anniversary). I was married to a US citizen but we divorced in August 2010, amicable, no problems, etc. Now the question: Besides sending copies of our divorce decree, I don't have to send anything else right since I am filing on my own? Not even tax documents?

Let's say that I leave for 3 months and I come back for a month, then I leave again for another 4 months. My permanent address will be in the US all this time.

You know what, I don't need to apply for a re-entry permit, I thought so but as per USCIS.gov:

"A re-entry permit allows a permanent resident or conditional resident to apply for admission to the U.S. upon returning from abroad during the permit's validity, without having to obtain a returning resident visa from a U.S. Embassy or consulate. Permanent or conditional residents should apply for a re-entry permit if they will be outside the United States for one year or more."

I will not be in the US for 9 months tops.

I have a quick questions, There is a possibility that I will have to leave the US for 7 months, and will apply for a re-entry permit of course. Do you know if that time outside the states will extend the waiting time to apply for citizenship, or the time frame is not affected whether you stay or not in the US for a long period of time?
