Hopefully they accept my paperwork this time. Once my paperwork is approved that's when they DQ it and give an interview date or does it take a couple months from DQ to interview date ?

I really appreciate the info. Thank you very much

The DQ should come a couple of weeks after the documentation is complete, but that timeline could be different now compared to the beginning of last year. And no, after being DQ'd, your case stays at NVC until there is a open slot for the next interview. However, due to the tremendous backlog and pending applicants waiting for an interview after being DQ'd, the wait is around 15 months for an interview. Since my case was DQ'd January of last year, the interview letter came in this month, 15-16 months after that date.

Basically from the day you started your visa application to the day you got DQ'd only was about 5 months ? September 2020 to January 2021. Also which embassy is your interview ? I filled out the application in Islamabad, Pakistan. Probably it's taking long over there. I started my case December 2020 and NVC just asked me for my paperwork again, which was sent 5 days ago.

Yeah I would say around 5 months total between the initial application acceptance and DQ. I also applied in Islamabad, Pakistan. That's where my husband's interview will be on May 11th.

If you can provide the timeline of your visa application I would really appreciate it. I applied for my wife's petition november 2020, sent in all required paperwork and fee. Also the priority date on my case is January 2021. I had to resend my tax return info since last year income requirement was not met, but I made over the required amount this year by about $7,000. What date did you apply , how long it take for them to accept all your paperwork ? I would really appreciate any info

Hi, my priority date with USCIS was September 11, 2020 and I received the letter from NVC that my CEAC login was created on December 7th, 2020. I submitted all the paperwork a week or so later. However, we had one document left to submit so about a week or so later, NVC sent an email about the missing document. I submitted that a couple of days later, around the end of December. Shortly after, case got DQ'd on Jan 4th, 2021. So NVC didn't take long to look at the documents and approve the case, it's the backlog they had for interviews that took forever and caused the wait to be a long as it was.

For i864 it will be changed.

But for ds-260 i think u need to change it.its not a big deal its normal and i have seen people often doing that during interview. For that u can ask the CO during interview and he/she will unlock the doc and update the address.

Also they will confirm the address during ur arrival at the airport in US.

Because at that address they will mail you the green card.

U can also ask CBP at the airport for the change of address

Understood, thank you for the explanation. I see the DS-260 is locked on the CEAC page so I'll just let my husband know to inform the CO of the address change so they can unlock and update the form like you stated. Will he need to inform CBP if he already informed the CO? Or is it better to inform both just in case?

Yes ds-260 has expiry date but it does not matter. Only thing to look for is your addeess in US that u mentioned in ds 260.if your address in US has changed it needs to be updated and u can ask the CO during the interview to do that and he will change it.

Hi, thank you for the information. I already contacted NVC and confirmed my address change as well as entered the new address in my updated I-864 form. Would that suffice for the address change or would my husband still need to inform the CO during the interview?

They’ve covered all of Dec 2020 DQ this time. Someone with 31 dec DQ has their interview on 27 april.

    Hi,

Just wondering if there was an idea of when the next batch of interview letters would be sent out? The DQ for my case is January 4th, 2021, so I was just wondering if they take a break after the last interviews of a certain year prior to working on the next year?

    Thanks

No need for new DS260. If any information needs to be changed or updated then your husband should simply inform the CO before taking the oath so that it doesn't have any negative impact on your case. The same barcode will work for the interview.

For pictures, you'd have to paste them in a word document and then create a pdf and try a pdf compressing software. Limit the number of photos on the word document to meet the size limit and send the rest of the pictures with him to interview.

They won't ask for I-864 or tax returns/forms if everything is updated online. My husband had both his old one and latest one but if they ask it's probably going to be the latest you submitted as that would have the updated information. FYI if your husband's interview is after April 15 then you would need tax returns for 2021 as well and enter all that info in the form.

Great, thank you for the information.

I'll go ahead and do that then.

Yup I already filled out the new updated 2021 I-864 and sent my husband the tax return/W-2's. Thank you!

  8. Hi, I received a DQ Date for my IR1 case on Jan 2021 and had a couple of questions regarding the required/optional documents for online submittal/review:

We completed out DS-260 form in Dec of 2020 so we were wondering if we had to fill it out again for the interview or if my husband would just need to re-sign the form and generate a new barcode at the interview?

For the pictures, I have them saved in a folder as well as zipped. However, the CEAC website does not allow attachments more than a couple of MB's so I am unable to upload them. Can he just bring the photos to the interview or is there a way to upload them online without surpassing the size limit?

If we filled out a new I-864/tax information, do we have to bring the original ones as well, or just the newest one?
