NOA2 5/16 and still no case number - no way to contact NVC without waiting 2-3 months.

It took exactly 60 days for my approval. I will say: I contacted my local senator and explained to their office what was going on and that I didn't have a case number yet. They said they would look into it and a week later, I got the email. I am not sure if they are related (I haven't been able to contact his office to see) but I will just throw that out there as an option.

  2. 60 days since our approval on May 5th (or sixth, the website and approval notice say two different things).......and we got our NVC email today! I could not believe it when I saw the email!

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Helsinki, Finland. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.

    Next steps:

Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.

I am a little confused about one thing though: the tracking online says "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center". We haven't gotten an interview date from the NVC....is this because we haven't filled out the DS-160 yet? Now that we finally have our case number we are trying to fill out the DS-160 tomorrow.

  3. We are reaching the 30 day mark since our USCIS approval but we still have not heard a peep from the NVC. We don't have a case number, I don't know if they've received it, and I don't know if I'm supposed to do something right now. Should we fill out the DS-160 before we hear anything from the NVC? Will that get us a case number? I haven't even thought about how long it will take to get to Helsinki. Helsinki seems to be the worst embassy at publishing data for K1 visas about interviews or how long it takes for them to get it from the NVC. I have no idea what to do. I think I want to do something, anything because the stress is just eating away at me and it's becoming hard to handle. I double checked that we definitely put an email address on our I127F - does that mean NVC will send me an email with our case number or notice they have gotten it from the USCIS? I've seen a lot of people say they aren't getting emails and they got their NVC number by calling but we can't call now! I don't know what to do

Why is nobody here..is there a different thread with more people? :)

I was thinking the same thing! I tried to find this month's group last week and didn't see one. But in any case, I'm happy there is one. I'm currently waiting for our case number and *fingers crossed* it will get sent to the embassy soon. Is there a way to see an embassy's processing times? or even next appointments? I can't find a place for K-1 non-immigrant interview times 😕

  5. It's been insane lately to post but we were approved! Finally! March 26 - May 6! I was started to loose all hope. But it happened! I honestly think that it's due to the "outside of processing" request. It was the second one we submitted during this process and the reply we got was different than the first one.

Now onto the NVC - any clue how long that takes to get an application through that and to the embassy? I called my local rep. for help and they said it would take 10 months! Is that really how long it's taking????

I am also a March 26th 2021, and it’s still not letting me submit :( i also feel so defeated and stuck. I lived with my fiancé in Europe for 2 years and my biggest regret is making the decision to come back to the US and not going forward with a visa in the EU (I could have gotten a work visa from doing my graduate degree there). I never thought this would be the case and it breaks my heart so much.

p.s. it’s my fiancé on this account that posts the daily updates/stats, not me. (usually meaning he is posting the end of day stats well into the early A.M his time ) just wanted to give him a shout out bc I know he puts a lot of time into it❤️

I currently live with my fiance (five years in his home) and we actually just made the decision that I will move back without him until his visa comes. 😕  I am really upset about being apart.

But thank you for posting the updates!!!!

but it is not yet 26th so wouldnt that still say it is within time since waiting time is still 10-13months

i called and they said you have to wait for that whole 13 months marks

I wasn't basing it on the 13 months - if you look at the processing time page, it will have a receipt date and if your date is before that, you can submit an inquiry. So yesterday it said March 26, 2021 so I tried to submit it. It didn't work yesterday but today (when it says March 27, 2021) it went through. So today I submitted the request but still,  I have zero confidence it will do anything. Honestly, I feel so defeated from this process

Hi! My fiancé and I are new to this group tracking, but we are March 26, 2021 and are curious how everyone is doing in regards to NOA2 and approvals?

We are trying to gauge any timeline we can as I am 4 months pregnant and trying to figure out if he can be here for the birth.

Does anyone have any tips in how to figure out where our application is outside of the normal tracking of case status?

Fellow March 26th person here; still waiting too and had to cancel our wedding. As others said, you can apply for the outside of normal processing time soon - probably tomorrow? I tried to submit it today and it said it was still within the time so I think we can apply for that tomorrow.

What exactly do you say to your congressman, is there an official request form or template?

Sometimes on their websites, they will have a section like "Assistance to Federal Services" so search for that first. But if not, just send them a message in their contact and if you can, call them. I'm now in the process of contacting both a senator and a representatives to try and move our process. If you can, give them reasons why you need your case approved quickly (like job contract is ending or apartment lease is up). Good luck! So far, both of mine said there's nothing they can do for this first step but that they may be able to help with the NVC step. 😕
