    I wanted to provide an update on this. I went to a third-party license issuer instead of an AZDOT office (as I heard these places can be easier to deal with) and was finally able to get my Real ID. The root of the issue, apparently, was that the date of expiry on the green card itself had to pass before they could move forward with giving my the Real ID using my extension letter. when I had initially went to AZDOT the expiry date on my green card technically hadn’t passed yet. YMMV 🤷‍♀️

    I went to the DMV today to extend my license (which was a REAL ID) expiration date with the extension letter. I was able to get my driver’s license expiration extended but the agent said the letter was not sufficient enough to get a REAL ID again, that it would just be a regular license. I’m pretty sure this is incorrect, did anyone else have this experience 😒?? This is in Arizona

    I believe the random uploads in the portal are normal. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive the paper NOA :/?

    07/10/2025: - check cashed - case updated to “actively being reviewed by USCIS” - biometric reuse notice and 48 month extension letter visible in myUSCIS online portal - extension letter says it is being processed at Vermont Service Center

    The case is in my online portal but I can’t see the copy of the notice they sent in the “documents” tab

    Received text message earlier today: “USCIS: Your case was received. Receipt **********. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797C) to follow in mail” Stil no documents uploaded in portal. additionally, I got locked out of my USCIS online account for 20 minutes even though it was 100% the correct email and password- this is the second time it’s happened to me!? I reset the password and was able to get in.

    As of about 30 min ago…”we have taken an action on your case” email from USCIS, “Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent” message in USCIS portal. No documents uploaded to portal yet.

    I did not see an existing topic for July 2025 filers. 07/05/2025 - mailed to USCIS Phoenix lockbox via USPS 07/07/2025 - USPS tracking says package was delivered

    I am a Canadian citizen who recently became a US permanent resident. I have a Registered Pension Plan (not RRSP) back in Canada from my previous job. This is an account where my employer matched my contributions and it also accumulated investment gains. It continues to grow with investments but I am obviously no longer actively contributing to it as an employee. Due to provincial rules, I cannot withdraw the RPP until I have been a non-resident of Canada for two years, which I am not yet. However, I am not sure I want to withdraw it at this time due to the gains. Are there any US tax obligations if I leave the RPP intact until I can withdraw it?
