  1. Essentially. However, on the day of interview - they still give you a sheet of paper that says you passed the interview and that you are being recommended for approval. In some cases, they let you take the oath same day and give you the naturalization certificate as well immediately after Oath.
  2. The officer printed the approval (not approval notice) at the end of interview and congratulated me. You can sign on Naturalization certificate same as you would sign any legal document.
  3. This morning I was scheduled for Naturalization ceremony oath in Hartford, CT USCIS office at 8.30 am. The actual ceremony started around 9.15 with a short speech, followed by handing over US Flag plus packets with Pledge of Allegiance, Oath, passport form, voting information, etc. plus a yellow envelope from White House which had a letter to new citizens from President Biden. This was followed by Oath and then they handed out Naturalization certificates to the new citizens. Everything was wrapped up by 9.40 am. This afternoon, I applied for the US passport at the local postoffice. This ends the 23 years and 23 days journey that began in 1999 with student visa arrival in US. Good luck everyone who is still awaiting. You will have your citizenship soon.
  4. The last I had done biometrics was when we filed I485 for employment based greencard. That was in 2007. The actual green card arrived in 2017. We filed on Jan 15 2022 and both my wife and I got the biometrics reuse notification on same day. Both my wife and I gave biometrics at the N400 interview last month. Since our interviews were in afternoon, we missed the 1.30 pm cutoff for same day oath in Hartford, CT. Hence we had to go back. My wife got her oath on the day of my interview. I have my oath scheduled on Aug 8. Hope this helps you.
  5. Got an alert this morning that USCIS has mailed my notice for naturalization oath ceremony today. The date of ceremony is Aug 9 at 8.30 am.
  6. Hi all - I had my N400 interview on July 12 and was informed that the officer was recommending my case for approval. They said that once the supervisor approves the case, I shall hear about oath in few days. In fact, I was told that in next day or two this officer would call me on cell and also inquired if I was available to take oath next week (i replied in affirmative). It is now 13 days since the interview and I have not heard anything. The call to 800 number did not yield anything else. Below is the cases status on the website: Case history Status Date Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled July 13, 2022 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. July 13, 2022 We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. June 1, 2022 We are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time. January 15, 2022 We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice. January 15, 2022 Is there anything else that can be done to get the Oath ceremony scheduled? Please advise. Thank you.
  7. I and my wife applied N400 on Jan 15 2022. My wife had her interview in Hartford CT office on June 23 and I had my interview at same place on July 12. We did not get the oath same day since our interview was in afternoon and the oath cutoff is at 1.30 pm. The office seemed very efficient and the USCIS staff was very courteous and appeared very kind. The interview included raising hand and agreeing to be truthful, followed by picture and fingerprints. Reading/Writing a simple sentence. This was followed by the civics exam - Got all 6 correct. The officer went over the N400 application and asked about who sponsored the employment green card, details of children, marriage, inquired about any pending tax payments, memberships of professional organizations, any driving tickets, etc. Overall, the officer made me feel comfortable. After 23 years of living and going through student visa, multiple H1bs, followed by Perm/I40/485 and multiple renewals of EADs/APs, I485 approval in 2017, the N400 interview concluded in an approval recommendation by the immigration officer. On next day (July 13), the online case status changed to "Oath will be scheduled". Now awaiting the oath ceremony letter.
  8. Today, I got alert that my N400 interview is scheduled on July 12 at 1 pm in Hartford USCIS office. I applied on January 15, 2022 online and had received same day biometric reuse notice.
  9. I will quote my dad's experience who had the interview recently. He applied under the 5 year rule. He was asked for Passport and Green Card, copy of appointment letter. Once called in the room, the officer asked 6 questions out of 100 from the book and he got them all correct. Then he was asked to write answer to who was the first president of US on a ipad. After that the interview was complete. the IO walked him from the interview room to the waiting area and congratulated him and offered the oath on same day within an hour. The list you have seems more than necessary but could not hurt to bring it with you. Good luck with your interview and almost the end of immigration journey!
  10. I feel your pain. I and my wife filed on Jan 15 2022. Both got the receipt notice and biometrics reuse same day. 10 days ago, my wife's interview was scheduled for June 23. I have no updates since Jan 15. I don't think there is much we can do except wait. My local office processing time is 9 months. My wife's case now shows 13 months after the interview was scheduled. My case still shows 9 months for processing time. Cant understand the USCIS system. Hope to receive the interview soon and complete the immigration journey. All the best to everyone here.
  11. I have downloaded the USCIS Casetracker app on my iphone and manually entered the Receipt number for my and my wife's N400 application. Anytime there is an update to the case, the app sends a notification and then I check it. In past there was a way to get USCIS alerts directly, but I have not looked into it recently since the Case Tracker app is more convenient and does not need logging into the USCIS account.
  12. I and my wife applied online on Jan 15 2022. Today my wife got USCIS update that her interview is scheduled for June 23 in Hartford office. I have not received anything. Hopefully something soon for me as well. Looks like the final few weeks as Permanent Resident. Note: we applied under 5 year eligibility after getting green card.
  13. Thats interesting. Pls let us know the outcome. 103 days since filed and no updates here in Connecticut.
