  1. You said, you case has been transferred. If it's true, then you case should be at NVC. You can call NVC at the number listed below and follow

    NVC automated voice response number

    (603) 334-0700

you will.... press 1 for English press 2 for Spanish

press 1 for information about your immigrant visa because CR1 is immigrant Visa AKA Green Card

It will then ask you if you know your USCIS receipt number.....press 1

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    My case Stars with Src*******

I am a married person with two children and my case was upadetd in July 2004 and when I ckeck my csae status online it has been transffered (I dont know where) and it is still pending can anybody tell me when it will be approved and which kind of visa I will get k3 k1 etc

A K1 or K3 wouldnt take that long. Which means you probably are apply for another visa class.

Which forms were filed? Who filed the forms?

So this is not confirm K1 or K3.

Form I-130 were Filed and My father filed the forms.

If your father was the petitioner and you live abroad, then yours is not a spouse or fiance visa. Please tell us more about the basis on which you are intending to immigrate. Is your father a US Citizen or just a permanent resident?

It sounds like this is a family member of a permanent resident case. We do have a forum for that where members can help more.

Yes my father is US Citizen and my whole family is in USA Except me Because I am Married Person and Lawyer tells that because of marriage it will take more time.

I think my case has transffered in vermont Because Our state is Texas and Texas I-130 cases goes to Vermont.

    Am I Right?

  2. Yes, K3 is faster than CR1 because it takes only 2-3 weeks at NVC compare to CR1 taking 3 months using James shortcut, and if you get a RFE on the CR1 add another months or so. If you want to wait another 4-6 months go with CR1, or 2-3 months with K3. Depending on you embassy you might save more or less time, but NVC timeline is same for all countries.

    Good luck!

My blackberry woke me up at 12:05 AM this morning, and what do you know ?!?!....it was notification that both my I130 & 129F were approved earlier today!! I could not believe it so I logged on to the USCIS website, and sure enough they are both approved!!!:dance::dance:

I had read somewhere here that the I-129F were no longer being honored by California Service Center, so I did not think much about what was involved. But now that it is approved and with the slight possibility open that NVC might actually process it, the question is how do I make sure that I-129F gets processed and I-130 is put on hold by NVC? If they send papers for I-130, do I just ignore them? Do I need to inform them somehow about my preference? I am very sorry if this has already been discussed; I searched for it but could not find the information I was looking for....it might be my excitement is playing a trick though! Thanks in advance!!!

  3. When you enter the case nubmer to generate the barcode for AOS and other stuff. Does a person enter the case # only, or are there any dashes?

    Such as :

    ABC1234567890

    ABC-123-456-7890

Which one is the correct method to generate the bar code?

wait for their response. then start the next step when u call nvc
  4. The offical poverty line become valid after April 15 because this is where the tax year ends. So if you made over 171XX+ with two people you are good for the 2007 year. The 2008 poverty line would be valid for the tax year ending April 15, 2009. So need to worry if you case is going for the year 2008.

  5. Read this guide about NVC process and the fee guidelines

    http://www.visajourney.com/examples/NVC_Pr...wchart_v1-2.pdf

Description of Service and Fee Amount

    * Filing an immigrant visa petition (Collected for USCIS and subject to change)

o Petition to classify status of alien relative for issuance of immigrant visa, select USCIS, Form I-130 for fees and form.

    * Immigrant visa application processing fee (per person), Form DS-230 : $355.00

    * Immigrant visa security surcharge, for all IV and DV applicants: $45.00

    * Affidavit of Support Review (only when AOS is reviewed domestically), Form I-864 : $70.00

    Salaam....hello everybody

I just wanted to share some good news.

We finally got our approval notice via email on Feb 20th. We have been waiting for over 8 mths and now, we will be moving on to NVC.

I was wondering........about how long would it take for NVC to get our case.(2-6wks?) Also, what documents should my husband be getting in order from Pakistan? I know , we still have a long journey ahead of us, but it was a sigh of relief just to get through uscis.

    thanks & Allaah Hafiz

  6. If you sent the email to the the address listed in your posted as (NVCINQUIRY@stute.gov) then it's wrong. The correct email is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

    You posted as: NVCINQUIRY@stute.gov

    Should be: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

You domain is incorrect double check which address you sent it out.

we did include the case number in the subject line and i have double checked the email address it was sent to is correct (NVCINQUIRY@stute.gov). I also have not received an automated response from NVC confirming receipt of the email. I guess I will wait another week to call them since some said it takes about a week for them to respond.

    thanks!

  7. Thanks us1415! Anyone if you have any recent update on the CR1 visa process when it reaches NVC, please let me know if there is anything else needed by NVC. So, I can get those documents from Pakistan before time and save few weeks.

Thank you again for your help!

Thanks for answering. What else is needed by the NVC with DS-230 submission.

Do I need to submit only the DS-230 Part 1 or do I have to submit the other documents such as:

    • Passport size pictures
    • Marriage certificate
    • Birth certificate
    • etc.
Are you saying that the DS-230 is received from the embassy in Pakistan with Packet 3.5 when the file is completed by NVC, and the agent in the US does not have to submit this form to NVC prior to file going to Pakistan. Is that correct?

    Thanks

I have a question about the CR1 visa. Can anyone tell me, is the DS-230 is received from the NVC at the agents address, or is this form is received from the embassy in Islamabad when the file is completed from the NVC and goes to Pakistan?

    Thanks!

It's mailed from the NVC in the U.S to Pakistan.

Its actually needed 2 times. DS-230 Part I One from the NVC to the agents address and back and then when the beneficiary receives packet 3.5 from the embassy they have to fill out the DS-230 part I and II without the signature (which has to be signed in front of the CO).

    Hope this helps.

Dont know if anything has changed since I went thru this but for NVC DS-230 you would need DS-230 part I and a copy of the biographic page of the beneficiary's passport.

  10. It's not even 6 weeks yet have patience. People have waited 4 months and more for the NOA1. This is just the beginning for you. Nobody knows for sure how long it would take. You can file a complain with ombudsman after 90 days, but that does help either.

    Hi All

Just to clear something, once the USCIS website states that they are issuing the recipting notice of the date that they show, after that, how long do you have to wait for your NOA1? Anyone know?

    Please help

    Thanks

  11. Well, if someone has the K3 approved, he/she could go with the K3 and save about 10 weeks at NVC. NVC takes about 2-3 weeks to process K3 and 3-4 months to process I-130. So, if someone wants to save that time, he/she can go with K3, but the person would have to pay an extra fee for the AOS.

Meryll's K3 visa was approved today at the Manila Embassy!!

    WOOOT!!

Thanks to all my friends on VJ. The 297 days seemed like forever, but it was worth the wait.

    :dancing::thumbs::dancing::thumbs::dancing::thumbs:

CONGRATULATIONS!! just a little bit confused here i thought if you been approved for i-130 no need for i-129f... what's the use of i-129f now??? :innocent:

  12. I think we all should wait till Friday and see what kind of concerns are addressed in the CIS Ombdusman tele-conference.

    http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1171038701035.shtm

Those of us who have filled the K3 recently because of the NOA1 delay on the I-130 there were very few people who had success filling K3 without the I-130 NOA1. So, when there are very few Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, even December fillers for K3, things should move faster because there is nothing in the queue. All I could say, people wait and watch. USCIS is unpredictable and would do what they want to do.

    Good luck to us all!

  13. Here are some questions they have asked people in ISB

    1. How long you have been married for?

    2. What does your husband do?

    3. Have you been outside Pakistan

    4. Ever been to the U.S

    Are you relatives ?

How your family know each other ?

    If i travelled outside pakistan?

Who is co sponser to you ?

Also one question for you, the form your spouse received from the ISB in Packet 3.5. Did your spouse submitted those forms to ISB to get the interview date or would be taking on the interview day? If taking it on the interview day, were there any instruction in there that they have to bring it in person.

    Thanks and good luck!

    Hi Guys,

My wife's interview is about 2 weeks away for K3. Can you share your experience or shed some light about the interview questions that they ask?

  14. Thanks!

    tyousuf,

About your post earlier, the form DS-156 did you fill out this form online or paper copy and do you know why they need two copies?

Applicant’s Parents Information. (This is new requirement) What form did you fill out for this?

When did you file your case ?

    Thanks!

No idea why they need 2 copies of DS-156, They sent us the form in packet. It will be a good idea that you fill out

the from online first to make sure you have all the required information. Then once you have the form, from them match the version/release/expire date of the form. In my case the form that I download online had different release/expiration date (new form) then what they sent to me(old form). Since I had all the forms filled it saved lots of time. You can apply same method with all other forms.

I-134 needs to be notorized with someone In US.(This is the proof of your domecile also)

Parent Information form was sent to us by embassy with packet 3.5. This form asked very simple father/mother info of applicant. Name/ DOB etc.

For those who are intrested to know cost of medical:

    In karachi including vactination/Blood Work/X-Ray found to be b/w Rs/= 6,500-7,000.

    Good luck guys....

  15. I am not talking about the timeline in your every post. I am talking about the timeline that is part of the timeline of the forum. Below is your timeline link. I hope this clears the confusion. I really appreciated you posting your timeline in every post, but three months from now it would be difficult to find it.

    Thanks.

    Tareq,

Can you please update you timeline.

    Thank you,

Sky2k, my timeline is already updated. My case is currently at NVC. They say they should be forwarding it to the embassy anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. At one point they said it's in Admin Processing. I am just waiting for them to tell me that they have forwarded my case to the embassy.

Was anyone else here told by NVC (before the case even got to the embassy) that their case is undergoing Administrative Processing? I thought this was done AFTER the interview.

  16. Gohar,

Thanks for the detailed description of the packet 3.5. Question about the I-134 cover letter, what did you mean by the cover letter for I-134. I am assuming you meant list of document included with the form. Please comment..

    1 Letter from employer

    2 Copies of pay stub

    3 Letter from Bank

    4 Copies of Bank statements

5 Tax retrun or tax trasncript

    Hi Gohar,

This question is for you. I just received packet 3.5 from ISL for K-1

Two Forms DS-156 (Should I answer all questions and sign it?)

One Form DS-230 Part I (Should I answer all questions in part 1 only and do I need to sign all of it?)

One Form DS-156K (Should I sign this after answering the questions?)

Which of these documents I need to mail and which ones I need to take with me for the interview.

What other documents I need to send them besides these ones?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi taufik hidayat,

Congrat's on receiving Pkt 3.5!! Just a reminder, be sure your packet is 100% correct because this packet sets your interview date!! Also, you need to send in the original forms and 1 copy of the forms to the Embassy. Also make 2 copies of EVERYTHING you send to them (one for you and one for spouse).

DS-156 -- YES!! Answer ALL questions 1-41. If the questions do not pertain to you put "N/A" or if there is no answer put "NONE". Do not leave any box with a number beside it blank because they may think you over looked it. here are some of the answers to some of the tricky/not straight forward questions.

Question: 22. Answer: When Visa is Granted

    26. Answer: Permanently

    27. Answer: Marriage and Relocation to the US

    32. Answer: With work Authorization, Employer Unknown

DS-230 Part 1 -- YES! Answer ALL questions in PART 1 ONLY! Do not write ANYTHING in PART II. ONLY Part 1. You DO have to sign Part 1 on the second page at the bottom where it asks. These questions are pretty easy, just, biography stuff. You should have all this information already in your original I-129F packet you sent first.

DS-156k -- NO!! DO NOT SIGN THIS! Do NOT write BELOW the LINE!!! You willhave to sign infront of the officer according to the directions. Make sure you have all the proper documents they have requested attached.

You need to mail EACH of these ORIGINAL documents IN AND 1 COPY of EACH DOCUMENT! Thats what our directions said a month and a half ago and I'm assuming yours will be the same.

(US CITIZEN has to get this informtion on there behalf)

I-134, Affidavit of Support -- With ALL supporting documents..... Statement FROM Bank, on Bank Letter Head., Statement from Employer on Business Stationary, IRS Tax Returns, Fiance Letter of Intent (Same as before but date will change), Cover Letter for the I-134 (I had it to be thorough).

I also, submitted addional proof of relationship.

I think that is about it, a lot of this information is also available in the GUIDES TAB at the TOP! Check the K1 guides and you will find additonal info!

Make sure you keep COPIES of EVERYTHING you SUBMIT!! VERY IMPORTANT!

    Best of Luck!

    Gohar

  17. Tareq,

Can you please update you timeline.

    Thank you,

Yes you need to mail all the forms and other required documents including pictures/old passport/bank statements/police clearance etc. There is a big list of things needed to be sent (both orignal and one copy of each).

Also make 2 copies of each document that you are sending (one for you and one for your spouse)

    ......

    tyousuf,

Can you please include the complete list of documents that they asked you to send with packet 3.5? I just want to make sure if they have changed or added something that I should get ready for. Also, did they ask for an I-134 Form or an I-864 for Affidavit of Support? I am fairly sure that for a K3 (non-immigrant visa), they need I-134 only but want to check to make sure since they keep changing policies.

    Thanks in advance!

  18. Thanks for the reply Gohar, it's true that K1 people have to send the packet, but some K3 people had to take it with them in the past. So, I am wondering has the procedure changed with the new year or what? If some K3 people who had experience with this matter, please reply

    Thanks.

    Salam,

I just have a question about your K3 packet 3.5. Did the instructions say that you have to mail the forms back to ISB in packet 3.5 or bring it in person?
