  1. Montreal responded! shocking! ....but unfortunately no date yet :(

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your file is still on a waiting list and we have the point of contact

the attorney on record. No date has been scheduled yet.

    Thanks,

    Operator 2

I sent an email yesterday morning, as well. I hope I get a response today. It's stressing us out big time not knowing if Kristy's seven-year-old daughter needs to come with us or not. If they say she does need to go, that will stress us out a bit, too, as I'm afraid she might inadvertently say something about our "wedding." Although, she does have an inkling of what we did, as she said something about "you're not really married, though" this past weekend.

Good luck to you! just be sure to stalk up on candy for the little one to keep her occupied for an hour or so - :)

  3. Hi, I was getting a little worried, as some of you never received an interview letter, so I sent an email to the US Consulate in Montreal this morning asking if a date has been scheduled for my interview yet. They response with the usual response with the exception of the first paragraph.

Thank you for your inquiry. This is an automatic response that may or may not answer your inquiry. Please be patient for a specific response within 2-3 business days.

If your inquiry concerns a case where the I-130 petition was filed at a U.S. Consulate in Canada, please be aware that there is a high volume of cases waiting to be scheduled for appointments. Resource shortages may delay processing for 4-5 months after we receive notification that you have all of your required documents. Thank you for your patience.

In order to serve applicants faster, we do not respond to inquiries requesting confirmation of receipt of documents or faxes, nor will we be able to answer multiple inquiries about the same issue. Some applicants call on the phone, send an e-mail and a fax to ask the same question or a variation of the question. We have a small number of employees who respond to all the inquiries. It only delays the service we can provide if you make multiple inquiries. We will not respond to multiple e-mail inquiries asking a duplicate question.

If NVC sent you a letter stating that your file is complete and it has been sent to Montreal for scheduling, the file has NOT actually been sent to Montreal but it is waiting at NVC until an appointment can be scheduled. We currently have a 4-5 month wait for scheduling appointments after NVC receives the OF-230 part 1. You will receive an appointment letter in the mail when your appointment has been scheduled by NVC. You can expect to receive this appointment letter several weeks before your appointments. Please remember to bring ORIGINAL documents of birth, marriage, divorce certificates, etc.

If your inquiry is regarding processing of an immigrant visa for a case where the petition was filed in the U.S. and it has not been scheduled for an appointment, please send your inquiry directly to the National Visa Center (NVC). To contact NVC, please forward your inquiries by email to: NVCInquiry@state.gov. If you have been informed by USCIS that your petition has been approved and forwarded to the Department of State, please contact NVC directly.

If you are inquiring about a new family member whom you wish to add on to an approved petition stored at NVC, please contact NVC in writing providing petitioner and beneficiary's names and dates of birth, case number, receipt number, and copy of birth certificate. To contact NVC by phone, you must call between 8:00 am-8:45 pm, Monday-Friday, Eastern Standard Time (EST). It may be easier to reach NVC during the morning. Follow the prompts to speak with an operator. Telephone: 603-334-0700. You may also inquire via facsimile - Fax: 603-334-0791.

You can learn more about immigrant visas, in general, and the National Visa Center, in particular, at

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1309.html.

    Thank you.

  4. Many of us on here didn't use a Lawyer- most of us found VJ more helpful than any attorney :)

As long as your case is straightforward and you have no major issues like a criminal record, etc, I think you will be just fine without.

Hi - welcome! we used a lawyer b/c at the time, didn't know about Visa Journey - looking back, we wish that we would have looked for info on the web first before going to a lawyer - we would have saved some money. we have had some questions answered by reading posts on visa journey that our lawyer couldn't answer. Good luck to you! I'm in Toronto and my sweetheart is in New York too!

  7. Anyone who is still waiting should call often! I called on Monday and was told "no interview," I called yesterday and was told the interview date and today I phoned (think I obsess much?) and got the "no interview" message.

    So keep bugging them!!!

I haven't called in a couple of months b/c i thought there weren't accepting any calls.. i guess i will try today! thanks!!!! congrats to you!!!

  8. email sent...got the same GENERIC reply that Toronto/New York got *sigh*.... they just dont like the K-3's right now... LOL

Liz do you know how nick&clau were notified...did they email, call, or receive Packet 4..?

    thanks

Yeah - I guess they just don't like us K3 people! I don't get it! why haven't we received our date yet??? what should we do next? call?

  9. Congrats to everyone who has been scheduled for an interview thus far!!

And, add me to the list. I just got this e-mail response:

Please be advised that an appointment has been scheduled for the applicant on 12/06/2007 at 8:00. The agent of choice will receive further instructions shortly.

I was at work this morning when I read the e-mail, and I screamed. Everyone came running to see what was going on.

Oh Congratulations!!!!!!!! Awesome news! was this email from montreal or uscis??

  10. I would print out a new one with the job change just in case (I also have to take a newer version of one of the forms to reflect that my mother in law is now deceased)...

I would *think* that as long as they can read the number it should be fine...

*opinions welcome*... the last time I contacted Montreal (email) to see if we had an interview date was Oct 2nd and we got "no sorry no date yet, might be another 2-4 months", do you think its too soon to send them another email? especially after Toronto/New York got that long generic email..hmmm..

I guess there's no harm in emailing - at worst you will get the generic email that i received... it's up to you. my last email to them too was Oct. 1... just a day before your last email to them. let me know what you decide! good luck!!! : )

  11. I am delighted to inform you that the Consulate General of the United States at Montreal has humbly requested the pleasure of my parents's company on the 19th day of December at 8 AM.

That's wonderful news!!! Congratulations to you... I guess Montreal is starting to catch up!!

  12. Great review! Congrats :)

Great review! thank for the update... i'm nervous to have my interview (if the notice ever comes!)... so this makes me feel at ease. nothing really to be nervous about! CONGRATULATIONS! ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. If you don't like mushy poetry...just close this window.

I'm in a romantic mood tonight and I thought I would share with you a poem I wrote for Nick last year at the beginning of our relationship.

    Enjoy :)

    Time and Desire

    From a far, without warning

    the want in them grew

    Drawn to each other

    Their two hearts just knew

    With a leap of faith

    they danced the dance

    The desire was strong

    they took the chance

    The first touch

    awakened her skin

She felt his need for her

    She took him within

    Their bodies

    One union

    Their hearts beating fast

    both of them knowing

    the feeling will last

    Love knows no distance

    no boundary or time

    I will be yours

    and you will be mine

    L.S. 2006

very nice! from the heart... well written!

  14. holy cr@p!

Yeah! I think that is the longest reply anyone has ever received. I hope it doesn't mean there is a 'canned' answer ready and waiting for all emails about interviews now.

    Normally it's more like:

Unfortunately we cannot tell you as your case is with the National Visa Center.

You may call them at 603-334-0700. Once they schedule your interview they will then

transfer your file to our office.

    Thank you.

I know what you mean though, it is very hard to make moving plans etc when you don't know if your interview is in 2 months or 6 months.

Exactly - it's hard to plan anything... when to give notice at work, when to sell your place, car, furniture, etc. Hopefully we will all get good news very soon!
