Yes I can't select the date and only NVC can schedule the appointment but I could see the "First Available Appointment" only today.

It might mean that the consulate has opened the available dates for scheduling?

thanks for the info! I had no idea this website existed, so thanks for that! Just created a profile with passport delivery preference! I don't see what you see for Switzerland. But that said, we all should be hearing something this week, last week of the month, it has to happen :)

    Hi Everyone,

When I logged into my cgi page ( Which we use to register our passport delivery preference) today I found a new section saying First available appointment date.

    Website: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome

I have been logging into this site everyday and only today I found this section. I believe we should get something ASAP.

I am sorry for spamming, I am just restless.

hi Thanks for sending this information! But regarding CR1, I thought the embass/NVC schedules the appointment, not the other way around?

No idea about CH, but I'll outline my current thinkingnonnwhen I'll interview which maybhelp you make your own guess.

What I imagine is happening is family visas are being held up at NVC until student visas are sorted. Semester starts mid to late August so I'm expecting family visa interviews to start up again in a month or so. But everyday without seeing anyone recieving IL makes that guess less and less likely.

Next I'm guessing where I am in the backlog. It looks as though the last people to be interviewed DQed late May. My DQ is July 12 so there are around 6 weeks of DQs ahead of me in the queue. Once the student visas are out the way I'd hope they get through interviews faster than DQs come in so I optimistically think this will add about 3 weeks for me (though this  is spiralling into totally uninformed guesswork 🙃)

With all that in mind, I'm expecting an interview in mid-September.

thanks a lot for your answer and insight! well definitely better to plan a larger window for sure! it all makes sense!

I think it has something to do with student visa appointments.

I know people in Korea scheduled to interview in July had their appointments moved to August.

Korea has been sending out interview letters once a month (usually the third week) but in June they sent out two sets of IL's.(The 15th and the 27th)

They also didn't send ILs out in January.

No reports I've seen of interview letters since June 27.

I'm expecting people will receive ILs in the last week of July though...

    Good luck EVERYONE!

Interview letter dates I found for Korea- if anyone is interested.

thanks for this! do you think if we receive IL end of July (for no backlog embassies), we may have our interview in September (August would be much better...) ? thanks!

That’s interesting indeed! I checked all Amsterdam data last week and made some pie charts 😂. The data sample for NL is so minuscule though that I can’t rely on the conclusions,  especially as NVC and the embassies just seem to have no ‘new normal’ yet!

I have to say I love how we are all digging into data to find out answers or have an approximative idea of what’s going on 😁 (analyst speaking 🤣)

I’m hoping one of the VisaJourney forum experts will contribute to this thread, as it seems to be another NVC mystery. Clearly something is going on as the issue is across multiple embassies. Are NVC deliberately sitting on files?

really wish this is going to move for all of us this week... it makes it so difficult to plan anything with jobs and all. Maybe summer is slowing down everything, but it does not make much sense. Positive thoughts for this week 🙂

Belgian Embassy here. DQ since June 21 and been waiting ever since. I know of people in Belgium DQ'd earlier in June and getting their interview letter the following week. It's almost been 4 weeks for us. So this is an NVC thing most likely, right?

Mayyyybe they are sending it to embassies once a month or something... maybe middle of the month... Someone else on here told me their embassy was sending out interview letters the 15th of each month. but yes who knows... Fingers crossed for us all that it will be anytime soon!

Have you had your medical yet?

I have not as I need the interview letter in order to get the appointment. But I reached out to them and there is no backlog so this will get done in time for the interview! I have been working on updating required vaccinations with my doctor's office since we got approved from USCIS, as I knew one vaccination required 3 shots with a few months in between, so doing the last vaccination mid September! but they said for that vaccination, 2 shots are already sufficient enough for the US medical visit, and its ok to do the 3rd shot in the US. but as I am not moving until end of September, I will do it here. So basically I am ready for that medical visit 🙂 Saw your post about the flu shot, and not doing it as its not in ''season'' and not available in Switzerland.

Congrats! It was a matter of days for us, I am sure you will hear soon. We got an appointment one month later, but actually had to change it, so then we got an appointment 2 months later.

Hi again! Sorry to bother you again! It’s been 13 days since we got DQed and waiting for Bern embassy’s letter! How many days was it for you? Not sure if I’m being too impatient 😊 thank you so much 🙏

Thank you so much and congrats on your DQ! Have you figured out how long it takes to get an interview in Bern?

thanks and you are very welcome! Yours is coming really soon! I have not figured it out yet, I guess we'll wait and see. but what I know for sure is that not many immigrants visas are issued in Bern, so we might be lucky and won't have to wait that long! I'll keep you posted for sure :)
