I have been reading those instructions. In those instructions it states the following: "If you provide a photocopy of your tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint tax return with your spouse." I am confused as to if me and the joint sponsor should be uploading our W-2 and 1099 or should we just upload the "Tax Return Transcript" ... I personally have downloaded my Tax Return Transcript from the IRS Website. I am not sure yet how our joint sponsor will be providing his (downloading from IRS Website, scanning them?, sending in the 4506-T Form?)... but, can you clarify if I should be uploading my W-2 and 1099 as well?

Add a Joint Sponsor (Proof of Status)
Karen2021 replied to Karen2021's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
Thanks for answering that. Do you think that it would be helpful if I added a second joint sponsor? I personally as the main/primary sponsor do not meet the minimum requirements, however, our 1st joint sponsor has a stable job and meets the income requirements. I also know someone else who is willing to be a joint sponsor who does not work, but has cash assets. Would it be at all helpful by adding him as a second joint sponsor? -
I am currently preparing to fill out the I-864 Form as the main sponsor and gathering necessary Financial Documents for myself and our joint sponsor. Is it going to be a problem that I currently live abroad with my spouse who I am applying for? But, we plan on moving to the USA after her paperwork is approved/complete. If this is a concern then how can I manage through this? Because, we genuinely plan on moving to the states when my spouse receives an Immigrant Visa. Also, does our joint sponsor need to send me all of his forms and documents? Or should he be submitting any documents on his own? Thanks again for your help.

I just made my payments for NVC Processing and the next step is the I-864 Affidavit of Support and Financial Documents. The DoS website provided a three step Financial Evidence Assistant. The tool generated that I need to submit the following: " Please submit an IRS tax transcript from the most recent tax year, which can be processed more efficiently than a copy of a tax return. Alternatively, you may submit a complete copy of a filed tax return from the most recent tax year. In addition, please submit: Evidence of Income / Proof of Assets you may choose to use " I accessed my IRS Account and found four PDF documents pertaining to my taxes, they are as follows: 1. Account Transcript 2. Record of Account Transcript 3. Return Transcript 4. Wage and Income Transcript (although this one requires me to submit a form to retrieve it) Which of these four documents do I need to submit as an acceptable "IRS Tax Transcript", if any? Furthermore, what is the best way to provide Evidence of Income and Proof of Assets? (In what format should I be providing this evidence?)

Is it okay to fill the I-864 out digitally by inputting text via Adobe PDF Editor as long as we provide a physical signature, scan, and re-upload?

I received an email from the NVC stating that there has been a change to the interview location. They've decided to change it to an embassy in a different country. Is it possible to change it back. There is a consulate that's not far from where I live. I am not sure why they didn't choose that as the interview location. They initially chose an embassy that's 8 hours away, and now they chose a different country that's 3 hours away by plane. Anyone know what I am dealing with here? And if I can do anything to change it to request the interview take place at the consulate in the city where I live.

I came across four different I-864 Forms ( I-864 I-864EZ I-864A I-864-W ) I am currently living with my spouse abroad. I work as an ex-pat and don't have an income from a US Company nor do I make enough working abroad to be paying certain taxes. I do have a friend in the United States who is willing to be a joint-sponsor. My question is which one of these forms should we be filling out?

I-130 Approval Letter
Karen2021 replied to Karen2021's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Will we need to send any document via physical mail? It seems to me that we will just have to upload documents to the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC). Is that correct? Thanks!! Hello everyone. Hope you're having a wonderful 2023 so far. I recently received an approval letter from USCIS. What are the next steps me and my spouse should take? What can I expect going forward in regards to necessary documents? Have we made it through the most difficult step by getting the I-130 approved or can we expect another long wait with the NVC? Thank you!

Will the following be a different account than my current USCIS account? If so, can I open the account now while I wait? After USCIS approves your petition, they will transfer your case to the Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC) for pre-processing. The first step in this processing is the creation of your case in our system. Once this is complete, we will send you a Welcome Letter by e-mail or physical mail. With the information in this letter, you can log in to our Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) to check your status, receive messages, and manage your case.

I-130 Petition: On the USCIS site it's been saying for the past 2.5 months that the case is being actively reviewed by USCIS. Is it normal for the review process to take this long. The first 8 months it said that the I-130 Petition has been submitted, but a few months ago I received an update saying that the case is being actively reviewed and that I don't have anything outstanding. Is it normal for the "Active Review" to take this long and how much longer can I expect to wait. Is there anything that I need to prepare in the meantime for the next phase?
