Yes, they pay the reduced rate. You can roll all the payments into one money order.

There's no consequences for you self-filing those. Your lawyer just won't get a copy of the receipt notices. $1000 for an EAD/AP renewal is highway robbery. Take the forms (I-765 and I-131), fill them out, attach a copy of your I-485 receipt notice and a copy front and back of your EAD and mail it all to Vermont Service Center. If you paid for the I-485 filing fee, there is no filing fee. If you got a fee waiver for the I-485 then you either have to pay the filing fee ($410 for I-765 and $575 for I-131) or you will need to request another fee waiver using form I-912.

Thank you. On form i765, it asked for most recent issued passport number. I have a new passport. Do I use that or the old one I used at point of entry.

    1. It shouldn't. Only thing that's really used for is making sure that you entered with inspection, which isn't even a requirement for VAWA applicants.

    2. Yes, you check that box for them and fill out part 2: 5.a to 9 on their I-485s

    3. Yes. A-numbers are issued for life, so you will use this A number anywhere that asks for it for you.

    4. If you ever overstayed or worked without authorization answer yes. If not, then I'm not sure how it looks like with being a non-immigrant on benefits.

For the public benefits question answer yes, it's not a factor with VAWA cases.

Hello all, pls I have another question. Since my kids are filing with me, I assume their fee is $750 right? Also, when doing the money order, can I combine all the money together or I make a separate money order for each person?

    God bless you. I’m grateful.

  4. Good morning VJ family. Pls I have some questions.

    1. I just noticed that on my I 360, my lawyer filled in my new passport number instead of the old one in the question that asked for passport number used at arrival. Though she submitted both my old and new passport data page. Hope that won’t be a problem?

    2. In I 485 for my kids, in part 2 (1a) do I also click on Vawa self petitioner I 360 for my kids? Or I don’t answer at all?

    3. I also noticed that on my biometrics notice I have uscis A#. I guess I’m to fill that in all I 485 pages for me.

    4. In the past, I used public housing. The question that asked if I violated my visa rules, do I say yes or no? Also the question that asked if I used public benefit, do I say yes or no?

    5. On the I 765 form, where it asked for the category of work permit, do I put

    (1)(c)(9) or I just put (c)(9)

@sandranj @Demise @shiva32 I’ll really appreciate your response. Thank you all.

@Fathada If your ex was a US citizen then you can file before VAWA approval. The requirement is different for GC holder spouses who need to wait for VAWA approval and having a current priority date to file i485 and work authorization.

@sparkle, @demise pls my lawyer used her office address for my I 360. She’s been receiving my notices. If I apply the i485 myself, will she be receiving my mails from USCIS? Or all mail will be sent to my address? Pls help.

Not a problem, Happy to contribute what I can. Filing concurrently means that you file i-360 and i-485 together. That is no longer possible since you already filed the i-360. As stated before, you can still file i-485 for yourself and your children, since you have a pending i-360. As long as you filed i-360 within 2 years of divorce, there should be no problem. I assume you got a receipt notice for the i360 which means it was accepted, so I again assume that you filed the i360 within 2 years of divorce, or before divorce. Hence a pending I 360 and the fact that your ex-spouse was a US citizen entitles you to be able to file i-485.

Pls another question. What documents do I send with the application?

God bless you for breaking it down. Yes I filed a year plus after divorce and I have the receipt notice. Thank you so much.

Yes you can go ahead and file i485 for yourself and your children. Please file i765 as well if you would like to obtain work authorization, and i131 if you would like to obtain advance parole to travel internationally. As long as your attorney has not listed their address as safe mailing address in previous forms, they don't need to know about what you are filing now. Please sign up for myuscis account, add all your cases when you have receipt numbers and select to receive case notifications by email or text. By the way,  will likely take a few days for Sandranj to answer based on her past response frequency.

Thank you. Pls don’t get tired of my questions. I was already divorced before filing the Vawa. I’ll like to know if that doesn’t stop me from filing concurrently.

Yes. Your I-485 can be filed together with the I-360, while the I-360 is pending, or after I-360 is approved. Same applies to the children, only limitation is that the children cannot file before you, so they can file with you or after you.

Thanks for your reply. Just to confirm so I can go ahead now to file I 485 for myself and my kids with a pending I 360?
also, I don’t want to use my lawyer because I don’t have the money for that. So do I have to inform my lawyer before filing it or I can just go ahead?

@sandraj your reply also will be highly appreciated.

    God bless you all.

  10. Hi all, pls I have a question. I am 2021 filer. When I did, my lawyer told me I couldn’t file concurrently bcos my abuser never filed for me. She said only those with pending cases at immigration call file concurrently.

Now reading from this forum, I realized I could have done that since my ex is a citizen.
my question now is can I still go ahead and file I 485 and I 765? Also I have 2 kids (not with my abuser) who are here with me. Can I also file the I 485 for them too? Or I have to wait till my Vawa is approved? I’ll really appreciate your responses.
