  1. i also did not get a letter from the NVC saying case complete. but i did get a letter just today saying that the case has been forwarded to the embassy and to contact the Department of State or Embassy for more information. so it took about 1 week from the NVC case forward message to get this letter.

  2. i've done all i can to get on the november list or get an appointment for november!!! when i talked to the operater in mumbai he said that since all the holiday's in the month of november and this n that ...its not possible to as all slots are filled.....and early december is filled as well... so here we are having to wait a good ol month and half ...

the november list thats posted is final according to the operater...

oh really...that sucks...mumbai definitely will put out another list with more appointments later (i have been checking it since August and they have been posting 2 lists when the first list only has 15-16 pages). yea, maybe the list they post is a couple of weeks old so that all the interview slots have been filled but they just havent posted them. I was hoping that since our cases have been forwarded to the embassy before the second week of Oct ended that we would have a good chance at Nov.

well...i guess i'll have to go back to waiting...something i've gotten good at in the last 8 months

  3. dimp_123 is right !!!november appointments are already out so dont think we will be bale to make it in novmeber !!!

    heres the link

    best of luck!!!

Yes, but if you notice, there are only 16 pages. Typically, mumbai puts out 35 to 36 pages (same as New Delhi). Check out october. Mumbai usually posts the interview appointments twice. They are on top of their game. New Delhi is a bit slow to post. Wait till next week and Mumbai will probably post another 20 pages or so (maybe a few less since November contains a couple of holidays). Keep up the hope. It's still possible to get a November interview.

  4. I found this info at the New Delhi Embassy site: http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/ivvisafees2.html

    How to Pay

An applicant can pay any immigrant visa fee in Indian rupees by demand draft at the Embassy or a consulate. The demand draft should be made out to the "U.S. Embassy, New Delhi", "U.S. Consulate General, Chennai", "U.S. Consulate General, Kolkata", or "U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai".

An applicant can also pay any immigrant visa fee in cash or demand draft in U.S. dollars at the Embassy or a consulate.

I would still verify with them to make sure but this is the info they have posted.

  5. I emailed the embassy once my case was complete and they said they do not have my case yet. I waited for the case forwarded message from the NVC and emailed the embassy again but I just received an email saying they still haven't received the case.

I think I am just being impatient...I'll wait till 10/17 before I call the DOS and email the embassy again. until then, i will be counting the seconds. :clock: come on, time, move faster....please.

  6. Congrats!

If interviews are scheduled by the embassy/consulate, you will have another phone message at the NVC that says "your case has been forwarded to the embassy in.....". Once you get this message you should have an interview date assigned. Packet 4, i hear, is sent out approximately 1 month before the interview.

Contact the embassy once you get that phone message from the NVC. (You may even be able to contact the DOS to find out your interview date but I have not tried this yet).

    Best of Luck!

  7. Mononoke,

thanks for the info. I'll try giving them a call. DOS will know even if the consulate is supposed to assign an interview date?

    pretty_1,

we are going through New Delhi but i believe i will only get Packet 4 since we have already filled out the DS-230 part 1. I would expect those going for K1 or K3 to get Packet 3. Mumbai may be different but i dont think so. maybe someone that has gone through there can comment

  8. I have been looking for this info as well. Thanks for your replies.

By the way, I have read that they prefer the Demand Draft to be from HSBC or Citibank. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone going thru New Delhi know where HSBC is located? I am going to look online for this info as well.

  9. Wow...sorry to hear that is taking such a long time. However, it depends on the country. If you read a few of the other posts you'll see that is the case. Canada, for example, seems to be taking 6-8months before it assigns an interview date. I am not sure about the country you are going through but it certainly is possible.

Hope it's not too much longer. Good Luck.
