  1. i believe from what you have said your spouse should fill it out, sign it, and mail it to the NVC. your spouse is the one who needs the VISA, right?

also, u can download the DS-230 form from online and have your spouse fill it out and send it to you ahead of time. when you received the coversheet from the NVC for the DS-230, just send the form your spouse filled with the coversheet and you should be good. (you can also save more time by using Jame's shortcuts to generate the DS-230 coversheet once you know the NVC has created it and attach that to the form your spouse sent you. this will save additional time.)

  2. hmmmmm.....the other possibility is that the autoresponse is being blocked by a spam filter. u could wait a couple of days since it's almost been 10 business days for you or try talking with an operator to see if they received the email.

looks like u just posted the same thing Toastburglar. :P i agree...hope that its just being blocked by ur email. Good Luck!

  3. i believe whatever you do, it is best to make sure all names match. meaning, if you fill out the forms like the I-130 in the new married name, get the passport updated with the new married name.

from what i have read here on the forums, the most important thing is that the name in the VISA they issue must match the name the passport. and the VISA will be issued based on the name you use on the forms.

    hopefully that's clear. good luck.
