    hello ma'am
I was following your case since I am doing a k1, your interview was Mar 17, may I know how was your experience with the interview?

we actually tried to marry in Egypt instead of doing a k1, but ministry of justice refused the American divorce papers saying it isn't final decree, that's why we went the k1 way instead.
we were able to get a date for the appointment to get marriage affidavit by accessing the website many times to look for a date, sometimes another person cancels his appointment, we were able to book an appointment this way, but any opening gets booked very fast
my fiance got her marriage affidavit for $50 paid at the embassy

    Hello!

We actually cancelled our K1.  I know we were very close for him to be here.  But his mom got really sick and he does not feel right on coming here and leaving his ailing mom.  I eventually understood, so now we plan on marrying in Egypt.  But getting an appointment is really hard.  I saw multiple openings for May 31, but I cannot take vacation off that soon or easily.  So, I'm going in July instead, hoping that there will be openings by them.  However, I really don't know if there will be any.  So, I don't know if online marriage will be better option.

You are able to register in Egypt after. However, we decided not to as it was so much to get stamps from different places in the USA and then also register with the ministry of justice over there. Maybe we will some day, but haven't yet. It hasn't affected our visa journey.

We are actually applying for the spousal visa just yet, because of family medical issues and he can’t leave at this time.
Do you think we can use the marriage certificate if we book a hotel in Egypt or do we need to register it first?

This is one of the reasons we married through the state of Utah online. We could never get any straight answers or appointments with the Embassy in Cairo.

Oh that’s awesome!  If you don’t mind me asking, how did you register your marriage to Egypt?
I have plans on going to Egypt in July and maybe we will just do it together because he’s not so good with technology.  If we do the online wedding, I wonder if we can register our marriage to Egypt and maybe if we can use the marriage certificate booking a hotel?

    thank you for your reply.

This is for the addadivit of eligibility to marry?

did u try on the following site?

    https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=CRO&appcode=1

    it does say

Please note a notary appointment is required for this service. Demand for notary services is higher than we can accommodate. Please don’t make travel arrangements or commit funds until you have booked your notary appointment.

Yes.  I tried checking the site several times a day to see if they will open any date.  Last month, they opened May 30 or 31, but it was too short of a notice to request PTO.

So I was wondering if there is another way in scheduling with the embassy.  I emailed them 2 weeks ago and have not heard from them yet.  I haven't tried calling yet.

  5. Hello!

Did anyone have an experience with difficulty on getting an appointment for notary in US Embassy in Cairo?

My fiancé and I are now planning on getting married instead because of family medical issues.

I will be in Egypt last week of July and first week of August, and we were hoping to get married through civil ceremony.  However, there are always no opening dates to schedule an appointment.

How did anybody schedule their notary appointment?

There was one day opening in May, but because it was a really short notice, it is hard to schedule it because of work.

    Hope to hear your experience.

    Thanks!

Oh I see what you mean. Did you send an international package through USPS? In my experience that is not the best carrier for international shipping

*most* consulates accept scanned signatures. Now I know each consulate has its own rules but the most reliable way to know is through packet 3 or 4 which the consulate usually sends to outline which documents they need and if there are any special requests

    yeah, lesson learned.  :(

    Thank you!

I’m more confused by this. Sent which  documents and why?

So I sent the documents needed to my fiancé 3 weeks ago.  However, it did not arrive yet.  I asked USPS why there's no changes in the tracking app.  So I was thinking of just scanning the documents (because I also kept my own copies) to him, instead of waiting.  I just want to be sure that the embassy accepts scanned copies.

  8. Hello!  I am starting to fill out I-134 for for my fiancé's interview.  I am also watching youtube videos on how to fill out the form step-by-step.  I noticed that the new I-134 form that I'm using from the USCIS does not have the passport info section anymore, which used to be #8.  Just want to be sure if I am using the correct form.  I'll attach the link, where I used from the USCIS.

    https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-134.pdf

    This form expires on 7/31/23

    Thank you!

Yeah I couldn’t believe it was this fast… when he was calling me I thought it was bad because they have been taking anywhere from3-6 hours at the embassy

Yes true.  That's really good news, it was quick.  I can't imagine the anxiety of waiting. lol

And of course to you also, wondering what's going on in Egypt.

  10. Thankful for @Xiaova and others for running the numbers.

But, really USCIS???? Not one approval????

I don't blame the one who withdrew their case.  We were soooo close to that until we got our RFE two weeks ago.  Frustrating to know that after 16 months, we got RFE... but in a way, happy to know that at least they looked at our case.  Now we sent and received our RFE docs, another waiting game.  This whole ordeal is going on 17 months now.

We each wrote short letters from our own perspectives about how we met, brief overview of our relationship and visits, meeting each other's family,  etc., and at the end of the letter is where we included the statement of intent to marry (using both our full names). My fiancé is Egyptian and wrote his in English. I had him sign and scan the final page with his signature to include with the rest of the documentation. Good luck!

    Thank you for the information.

In the RFE letter.  They want my fiancé's description of our relationship from the first time we met until now.  So he is writing a new intent to marry letter with these information in it.  I hope that will do.

    Definitely not enough.

There needs to be something that says

“I, (beneficiary ), do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (applicant), and intends to do so within 90 days of my arrival into the US using the K-1 visa”

I would redo all this as separate letters.  The format in https://www.visajourney.com/examples/Fiance_Letter_of_Intent.doc is known to work.

Are you following the visajourney guide for K-1?

    Thank you!

Regarding the guide, where can I see the guide?

Also, I wonder if USCIS needs the letter in my fiancé's mother tongue (Arabic) or is it OK in English?

    Thank you!

They accept a scanned letter. The original lette

They accept a scanned letter. The original letter should have been signed with a wet signature.

Afaik most couples sign separate letters.

    What did your letter say?

I, (applicant), do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (beneficial), and intends to do so within 90 days of his arrival into the US using the K-1 visa.

    Then we both signed below.

    I googled this letter.

Do you think that is not sufficient enough?
