    Hi

I wife applied for my iv case back in 2020 and now my case is documentarily qualified on 11 sept 2021 and waiting for interview in islamabad embessy.. How much time it will take nvc to schedule an interview appoinment after DQ... I heard there are so many backlog applications from 2020 and it will take a year if this is correct how can i file an expedite inorder to speed up the interview process..

    Please guide thanks

You can join the NVC Process Help group mentioned above they can help you figure out the expedite process but keep it in mind that you need to demonstrate why your case needs to be expedited otherwise expedite will just get rejected.

My husband's documents were dq on Oct 7th. Has anyone gotten an interview letter from Oct 1st to Oct 10th?

My DQ is Oct 28th so I don't know. The embassy sends out Interview Letters 20th - 24th of every month for the next month. You can join the group mentioned above to see but as of 20th August 2021, DQ cases until 9th September 2020 were scheduled for the month of September 2021. Interview Letters for October 2021 have not been sent out yet so we will see which dates they cover. Most likely they will only cover remaining 3 weeks of DQ'd cases from September 2020. Based on that timeline, your case could be scheduled for Interview in November or December but this is all just speculation.

My wifes DQ is 12-4-20, we are still waiting also, have your heard anything yet its been almost 2 months since you last posted

I haven't had an update since, I am still waiting. You can join this Facebook Group NVC Process Help: https://www.facebook.com/groups/NationalVisaCenter/

It has a lot of Pakistanis and they track every month when Interview Letters are sent out to see the progress. For October 2021, cases DQ'd in September 2020 will be scheduled I believe.

    This.

The Pakistanis in that group are incredibly organized and have the (very long) timeframe from DQ to interview worked out to very close dates based on monitoring numerous people's progress.

Thank you very much. Yes, I have joined the group. It is very helpful.

I believe Pakistan is running about a year for DQ to interview.  NVC will probably schedule your interview for Jan/Feb 2022.  You can contact the embassy if you need to expedite.

May I know where you found out that the US Consulate is a year behind on DQ interviews? I was DQ'd in Oct 2020 so just wondering how much longer I have to wait for my interview? Thank you!

2019 is a LONG TIME AGO.  If you have the means, there is a lawyer Josh Goldstein who claims to have filed lawsuits and won against Islamabad to get them moving forward.  What he says is that often in Muslim countries they just delay you forever.  I contacted his office, and got an appointment with one of his associates, but they said they couldn't help me because they only do marriage based and mine was a fiance.  Anyways, you are WAY PAST the reasonable time period, hiring a lawyer to file a lawsuit to speed it up might be worth it.

Anyways, keep us posted, curious to see how things turn out.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't quite think it is time for a lawsuit because there are extenuating circumstances with the pandemic and backlog. If it goes 14-18 months without an interview appointment then I would consider it but hopefully it will get resolved before that.

Sounds like a ploy by an attorney to get business.  The truth is that the OP's case was not DQ'd at NVC until late October 2020. By that time a huge backlog queue had already formed at ISL and most all consulates.  The OP's interview will be scheduled by NVC when his case reaches the front of the NVC queue for ISL.  I think it will quite some time to clear the backlog of cases already in that queue.  It's a mess.....at least, that's how I see it.

Yes, that's how I see it too. The monthly visa backlog reports are helpful but it would be nice to just know where my case is in the queue and how much longer I need to wait.

  7. Hi All,

My wife sponsored me for an IR-1 visa back in 2019. My case became Documentarily Qualified on October 28th 2020 and is pending Interview at the US Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan. I understand there is a backlog of cases everywhere, is there a way to find out which month of DQ'd cases the Islamabad Consulate is processing right now? Alternatively, members here at Visa Journey who have recently had immigration interviews at the US Consulate in Islamabad, when were your respective cases Documentarily Qualified? I am trying to get an idea of when I could realistically have my interview scheduled.

    Regards,
