I'm going through the same process with the Santa Ana office. The letter was dated June 14th, but didn't arrive until July 1st. Still no contact from the local office. Another person I know (at yet another local service center) has been waiting nearly 3 months with no word from the local office.

We have already passed biometrics, yet the online tracking systems shows our status as "Initial Review"? Not sure if this is accurate so it would be great if fellow March filers at VSC could share what their online profiles are saying. Thanks.

Yup, that's all it will say apparently until they make their decision. We've done biometrics and had our case referred to the local office to conduct an interview, and it still just shows "initial review" online.

One month since the date of the letter saying my wife's case was transferred to the local service center. No appointment letter.

I just wish the online system would show more updates. So annoying, if our letter saying we'd been referred to the local office had been lost, we would have had no idea.

How hard can it be to update the system any time a major event takes place?

I'm Shawn & Lisa on the tracking form. Not sure how to update the latest status. We've had our application diverted to the Santa Ana office for them to conduct an interview (joy).

Letter is dated 6/14.

Post mark is 6/30.

Received in the mail 7/1.

They just asked us to bring in the originals of what we submitted, so I'm guessing its either we're one of the "lucky" few who get picked at random for an interview, or because my wife is several years older than me it got flagged.

Any one have any idea how long between it being sent to the local office and when we can expect to receive an appointment for the interview? What makes it even more fun is that if we use the USCIS website to track the application, it doesn't show any updates.

How long do we wait before calling USCIS about the Bio Appt. letter?

30 days from the NOA1.

Amazing so many people are getting approved so quickly. Hope that luck carries over to our application.

Just Re drivers licenses. Here in California they won't accept the NOA1 letter either. That's official policy from Sacramento. Doing a Google search will turn up a lot of complaints, including letters to Senators. Only way around it is to hope you can get the passport stamp or take the bus until your GC is approved.

The lack of 2009 tax records might have been a red flag. You should have gotten free transcripts from the IRS and included them.

How long does it take to get the biometrics appointment. I still haven't received anything as of today. Not sure if taht is the normal.

Just looking at the chart, it looks like most people who had a NOA1 dated the 21 have gotten theirs already. I'd give it another day or three, and then call them if you still don't have anything.

Wow so fast. And it looks like yes, doing biometrics early does speed up the process.

Just for reference, I filed at CSC, NOA1 was dated 3/31, and I got my Biometrics in the mail today.

Updating Shawn & Lisa. We got our appointment notice today. Instead of a receipt number, this has a "Application number" and this number can be tracked on the USCIS website.

K1 or K3? K1 is fiance, K3 is a spousal visa.

Just a question. Am I right that once an Biometrics appointment has been made you can use the NOA receipt number to track the progress online?

(Just being paranoid about missing the Biometrics letter, as I live in an apartment and mail gets misdelivered quite often)

Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone has been successful in using the I-797C Notice of Action to extend their California ID/Driver's License?

We had problems with them the first time we tried to get an ID made. Even though we provided them with a document from the USCIS with the same number as the one listed as proof of residence on the DMV site, they refused to accept it saying they wanted that document, but it a different format than what USCIS provided to us.

My wife's ID card is set to expire due to her 2 year green card expiring, and they want us to mail in proof her legal residence has been extended. And from my understanding the NOA is the only document that will be mailed to us until the I751 has been approved. Before mailing in the documents, I just wanted to know if anyone else has had any experience with doing this.

I posted this in the April thread, but thought I'd post it here since I'm straddling months. I shipped my package via Priority mail on March 30th. When I track the package, this is the status:

"Status: Sorting Complete

All sorting has been completed at the delivery unit for today's deliveries at 7:05 am on April 01, 2011 in LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA 92607. "

With no updates since. Does that mean its been delivered?

I sent mine via priority mail with delivery confirmation. Status is "Status: Sorting Complete

NOA Date = The Receipt Date on your original NOA letter

That's a good idea.

We're probably going to buy the new Samsung camera, that has a LCD on the front to make it easier to take pictures of ourselves, before our trip in May. Its also supposed to have a slanted bottom to make it easier to rest it on something with a timer and still have everyone in-frame. That way we can get more photos of us together.

The local DMV (Santa Ana, CA) wouldn't accept either my wife's EAD or her Welcome Letter from when she got approved (or any of the other USCIS paperwork we brought). They said they would only accept the Greencard or a valid I94.

They also insisted the name on her SS# match the name on her green card (Maiden vs Married).
