  1. I entered the USA on an ir1 visa. I moved here a month ago and they never gave me any info about a green card all they said was will be mailed to you. I never got nothing with my visa no packet nothing so how do I apply for the green card now? I thought there was another thing you had to pay once you arrive in the US to get the green card? I don’t even have an alien number that I’m aware of.

    Hi,

Your children will have to go through the same process that you went through.  It will be 1-2 years.

There is no way to expedite.  There is no way to make this faster.

Changing your mind about the kids immigrating after you immigrated does not create an emergency for US immigration.

    You have to be patience.

    Sorry.

Yes your right about patience. This wasn’t our plan that’s forsure. I thought there was a visa though for temporary stay while it’s pending or is that only for k1 people

No I got it yesterday and moved same day. But now I’m in trouble with my kids portion and when I tried to call all consulates 0 answers

They have to wait out the IR2 visa process.  Has your husband filed I-130 petitions for them yet?

    Yes he has

There is no realistic ASAP with immigration, unfortunately.  Unless you keep track of time in units of months.

I cannot tell if you are still with your kids or if you already immigrated (you stated you want to bring them with you, but then you also state you want them "here" in the US with you and your husband).  Have you already immigrated, or did you just receive your IR1 visa, or is just your I-130 that is approved?  If the latter, you can delay your process at the NVC stage until your children's I-130s are approved and then proceed together through DQ and interview.

If you have already immigrated, then they will need to wait out the I-130 process.   You can visit them, and if they have their passports and B2 visas or VWP,  they can visit you.

EDIT:  I just saw the post where you stated you are already in the US.

Yea I am, well my kids will have to come stay with me here there just babies. There dad couldn’t do it so I’ll file i30 and hopefully expedite all the way.

Do they have Canadian passports?  They can visit you in the US, but they will have to return to their home country to wait out the IR2 visa process.  Basically the same process that you went through to get your IR1 visa.

By the way, do you have the legal documents stating that you have custody and that their other parent has agreed to their immigration to the US?

Yes I do! So they need an ir2 visa which is through i30 petition?

  6. Hi guys so I was recently approved for my i30 ir1   I am now wanting to bring my kids with me ages 5 and 6. They were originally going to stay with there father but things have changed and now I need them here in the USA with me. What do I do? Is there a way to get them here while there seperate i30 petitions are pending? I’m so stressed out. I don’t know anything from this point on and no where to contact to find out what I can do to get them here with me and my husband asap!

So in Rio, my fiancé went on the interview and she was told that she was approved!  Both of us thilled.  Then i went to the CEAC website and it says administrative processing  as the status.  Is this normal?  When i searched on google for the definition for administrative processing it said that they require a little more inf.  I am niw confused.  Is she aporoved or not?

Mine says issued but says going through administrative processing. I think it may mean it’s under the process of being printed…. I’m not 100 percent. I’m curious too why mine says issued but then says that underneath and if approved will be mailed. Like if it’s issued, isn’t it approved?

No it’s still refused. Haven’t heard nothing since the interview. Getting really confused. I have emailed the embassy over a week ago and still no response.

I forgot. You kept your passport after the interview because of the medical exam.

They kept my passport. I finally received an issued notice but it still says it’s processing. So confusing.

    Hi 👋🏽

    So i have a question..

we have our ir1/2 visasbin hand and our flight is in one week. But my husband who went back to the US ahead of us to fix some things, have now informed me he wants to divorce. I no longer have a job, or a place to stay here in my country as we had already got everything ready for the move.

the question is, can i still use the visas and maybe go to a shelter in the US? Just for a week or so so i can just find a place for me and the kids since my husband has abandoned us..

That is really upsetting but usually if it is not your fault in the marriage ending you can still reside in the USA. I’d deffinetly still go

Hello, I had my interview today. Because my medical exam was 4 days ago I was told that we will wait on the medical exam results to arrive. Online my ceac status states "refused" though as of today. Does that mean administrative processing? Has someone the same experience?

I am getting really nervousSame experience here I went to Montreal embassy it was the fifth business day so my exam should’ve been there but it wasn’t so I got a refuse letter on January 25 but on January 26 they told me that the letter had been sent to the embassy I have not heard from the embassy since and my online visa status still says refused and today is February 1 I am getting really nervous

Hi how are you? Has the embassy contacted to you?

I had my medical done before my interview and it was not at the Montreal embassy the day of my interview it got there the day after so that was January 25 and I am still waiting to hear a response because I still have a refuse letter based on my medical not being there. I hope it changes to issued.

Sounds very very similar to what happened to me. The piece of paper that indicates it is refused under 221(g) really says nothing about why that would be. It's very disappointing and also a bit worrying--I am starting to go batty trying to identify a reason why my case would possibly raise a red flag. Everyone thinks their own case is straightforward, I realize, but I think in my case there are none of the characteristics or history that I would typically understand as triggering red flags.   It is infuriating. I would like to have been informed as to the general reasoning behind the denial, but all i was able to get was a pro forma statement about following protocol.

Mine as well went for interview a couple days ago in Montreal but I was issued a 221g and underneath it says medical exam results. My medical was not delivered yet. They did take my passport though and told me about 2 weeks for visa that everything looked good and tbh with this whole process I was expecting the worst. It’s just been all a nightmare.

I was born in Canada and both my parents were, as well. Education, I don’t know, maybe they will ask me for some documentation? I didn’t claim anything like i have a masters or PhD or a medical degree or something. They told me they will be sending out a questionnaire or something like this that I should send back to them, but not any hint about what its content might be.

    The questions are usually this.
list of every country you lived last 15 years.
list of names, dates of birth for any brothers sisters children spouses.
a list of every address you lived last 15 years.
a list of every phone number and email you used in 15 years.
a list of all prior passport numbers and country of issuance.
a list of all employers over 15 years and unemployment periods.
A list of all public media sites you’ve been on in the last 5 years. (Facebook, twitter, Snapchat)

Please verify -- did that refusal letter say 221g?  If so, that's just a temporary refusal pending additional documentation, eg. medical exam results.  It's very unlikely that you'll be required to return for a 2nd interview.  Just check your case status on CEAC daily and wait for it to change to "Issued".  No need to worry.

No it didn’t say 221g that’s why I’m worried. Thank you for responding.

  15. I had my visa interview with the Montreal embassy. At the end of interview they issued me a refusal letter. The lady said it was only refused because my medical wasn’t electronically sent in to them yet. She said once she receives it my visa will be on its way and rushed me out the door. I am now feeling super worried as I checked status of visa on the embassy site and it says refused and when I called Telus health they said my medical was sent in next day after interview and that I will have to have another interview. Is that true? Or can the consular officer change the refusal on there end once they see my medical? I hope someone has the answers. 3 years later and the medical people couldn’t even get the papers in on time. Uuugh.

they look at his income now/  joint sponsor would be required

and yes,  i think when either of u has minor children whether living with u or not ,  immigration counts them

and if they need any day care for u to work ,  u will be surprised at what u will pay out

That would be bad. He has 2 kids that do not live with him. Full custody with the mom. Hopefully they don’t try to include household size for his two and mine when neither of our children are with us. Why need so much income for just 2 people actually living in the household

  17. 4 minutes ago, JeanneAdil said:

You still are responsible for helping to support your dependents whether here is US or in Canada

not bringing them at this time does not disclude them from fiancial responsibilities

But that the reason a lot of people sponsor one at a time so that the household income is larger once I arrive and work as well as my husband. He didn’t sponsor all of us because he can’t afford it on his own without me working as well for an income there. Is there a way to explain that to them. The reason they aren’t coming right away is because I need to work as well to increase household income

  18. Hi guys, wondering if anyone can answer me this. My husband applied for me to move to usa from Canada. On my original petition I put that I have 2 dependants (not with my husband) that they will not be moving with me but will be in the future…. Now there saying his income isn’t enough to sponsor me. Are they including them in the household size income even though they aren’t moving with me till a later date?

    Hello,

I submitted an I-130 for my husband (he lives in Canada) on May 5, 2021. The status changed to "actively being reviewed" on May 27th. To my surprise, on August 23, 2021 the application was approved and on August 26th it was sent to the Dept. of State. Has anyone ever had an I-130 approved that fast (approx. 3 months) without any request for expedite? Im just curious.

Mine was approved quickly but after that it’s been 16 months now and no interview yet just got dq august 1st

It’s Montreal consulate that is extremely behind…. Unfortunate the only consulate for i30 petitions in Canada as my husband applied for me and I’m in Canada he is usa.
