  1. is it a "requirement" to show a document that im under the petitioner's insurance?? or what are the documents you've included as a proof?

Evidence of a bonafide relationship is required... which pieces of evidence you are able to provide is your choice... you cannot provide what does not exist

so the insurance thing is not really something that we need to push just to provide for the aos requirement.. just trying to clarify things here cus i read once in this forum that showing insurance with the beneficiary under the petitioner's is a "required" proof

also....is the sharing of property (e.g. bank account, house, insurance) under the reuquirement of "FINANCIAL SUPPORT" or under the category of "proving that the relationship is true and existing.

  2. Does this mean that if i file I-485 (AOS) together with I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP), I only need to pay $1010 ($930 plus a biometrics fee of $80)? No need to pay $340 for I-765 and $305 for I-131? (just checking... im paranoid)

Yes you are paranoid... $1,010 for all

2.b ) "12. I-864, Affidavit of Support (see poverty limits here)

    >> Include any additional required supporting documentation

    13. I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, if you want to work while your application is processed (optional)

    >> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here.

14 I-131, Application for Travel Document, if you need to travel outside the United States while your application is processed (optional)

    >> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here."

    What are these supporting documents?

Read form instructions.... they are indicated there...

  3. we married nov 23 and our pastor sent a request of the marriage certificate to the NORTH SAN DIEGO COUNTY thru mail and up to now we dont have the certificate on hand yet.

well, this paper kinda stopped me from doing the "life" i mean, work...since we cant file aos with the ead without the marriage certificate...i cant go to ssn for name change too. though i can get a drivers license BUT my single name on it, which im not comfortable doing cus i want all of my legal docs be changed into a married name...

am wondering if is anybody here who also sent the request for marriage certificate through mail in North SD and took so long before it reachd u...

    how long?

  4. hi guys just a simple question here..

i know i can file the i-485, work authorization and travel authorization all together for the amount of $1010. and each application has its own requirement that i have to provide INDIVIDUALLY, correct? (e.g. 2 pics for i-485, 2 pics for work A.. 2 pics for travel A. = total of 6 pics)

my question is, when u compiled all the requirements for EACH application, did you have put each application with its requirement in a separate envelope? like 1 envelope for i-485, 1 for work a, 1 for travel a. then all 3 envelopes sealed in a 1 packet.

in my mind this is ho im planning to do..so..am i thinking the right thing?

    pls share..

    tnx!

  5. hi guys! just went to a cs. we paid $125 for everything! that includes blood test and TST. my cs also did a routine physical on me and q and a..it took us 10min to do it! now im expecting that our I-693 form would be complete from page 1-5

i know it says that I DONT NEED to re-do the full medical but, we chose to be on the safe side.

so now, i dont think uscis will still look for something else from us since were filing everything complete! hope to satisfy them..

  6. i got the ssn (card) 2 weeks upon my arrival here in cali, that was sept 26. i got the ssn in less than 30 min. theres a print on the card saying..VALID FOR WORK WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION. is this dhs authorization means the EAD card? No, that means that your SSN will be valid for work if you receive your EAD card from DHS.

im planning to go back there for a name change actually. what document aside from the marriage certificate, will i show them for me to get my name change? or presenting the certificate enough? Yes, you can have your name changed by presenting your marriage certificate. That's what I did. Although, you may go back there to change your name after you get you GC or EAD. And the phrase VALID FOR WORK WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION will bot be written on the card anymore.

will ssa change my name even without EAD yet? Yes, they will change your name into your married one, but still you can not wor without the EAD or GC.

    tnx!

ok...so say ssn will change my name into married name....does that mean that when i file for EAD, AOS, AP i have to use my married name?

what name did u guys used in filing AOS?

  8. I'd like to add that if you had your K1 medical prior to June 1, then you could get by without the skin test and use the old vaccination supplement form. There's alot of conflicting advice given here because of the dates of the medicals and the changeover June 1. The people that say they only sent the DS 3025 and got approved are correct, but if you look at their timelines, their medical would have been around the time of their visa.

I'm one of the after June 1 medicals and like Kim, we just sent in the DS 3025 and are waiting for an RFE that forces us to go to a CS. We are the rebels

what do mean by sending the DS 3025 only? didnt u submit the part 1 identification, part 2 vaccination and the part 5 CS certification on the I-693 with your DS 3025?

    No, we didn't.

    oh wow! :) keep intouch!

  9. We filed for AOS without my TST and I am anticipating an RFE for it. I had my TST after submission. It cost me $14 at a Mobile Health Clinic. A CS usually charges $30 for it.

thats a very good deal :) however, is it fine to get a tst from a non cs?

It's fine to get a TST from a non-CS. Just present your copy of the TST result/reading when you have it transcribed.

and i should get a cs who will transcribe it huh? i heard some cs dont do transcribing unless theyre the ones who did the test or procedure

i made an appointment to my cs this monday. its so stressing how the secretary told me that i need to pay $150 everytime i see the doc.!!! the last time i went there for my 2nd dose hpv, we paid for $133 + $50 FOR THE SHOT! though the last time me and my hubby went there, we are told by the cs that we'll not gonna pay anything anymore the next time we come back there... geezz!!!!!!!!!! any advices?

  11. we had our medical exam for K1 in April and had another one done in October we took the medical packet with chest x-rays and shot records to the CS and they looked at it and advised we needed additional vaccines and a TB test. They told us the TB test result showed positive and needed a chest x-ray. The CS said they could not use the chest x-rays we did from Thailand since it was 6 months old so we had to pay extra for the x-ray.

hi there! its ok paying extra if its something important. so after u got a negative x-ray result, did the cs already gave u that sealed envelop containing the I-693?

  12. Before I went to see a civil surgeon, I tried calling each and every office to verify if they transfer vaccine records on I693 without the whole gamut of the medical exam. Fortunately, I found one! They charged me only $45! :)

    https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV

Try to call them first and insist that you already had your medical exam in your country, they onlyneed to transfer the vaccine record. Goodluck!

hi chris lei! do you stl remember me? anyways, u said that the cs ONLY needs to transfer the vaccine record? how about the TBST?

did your $45 payment covered the skin test too?

I just read (as in few minutes ago) that you need TST as of Jul 1, 2008. I havent done it yet so I guess I'll wait for RFE regarding TB test.

You should have TST done dear.

oh yeah thats right. okie so i guess il talk to my cs about it. tnx alot.others are lucky cus they filed it before july came

  13. I just had my vaccinations done yesterday which are Varicella, MMR, Td (was pregnant during my medical in the phils so i had to do all 3 before AOS) at Bangor Immunizations, spent 250 for everything ..then I went to the closest civil surgeon @ healthworks (Dr. Craig Curtis)..presented my immunization record, my old vaccination sheet (forgot the name of the form), marriage cert (change of name)..that's it! I just filled out the part 1 and signed it (infront of the registration staff not the civil surgeon) and waited for about 15 minutes..

Then she gave me sealed envelope which says "DO not open, for USCIS", and my copy of I-693 (vaccination part)..paid 35 bucks for it! :D

hi there! good your done! i waswondering, have you had a tb skin test too by your cs before filing the AOS?

  15. well for the I 693 u need a complete vaccination record include MMR tetanus and Hep and the HPV shots

u need also the skin test because they must report that the test was negativ on the form

u need also a negativ HIV and Shypillis test wich had to be report on the form also...normaly the CS filed the 693 and give u a locked cover where its in and a copy for u..thats how i had to do it

im under K1 visa petition and i had my medical completed in the PI not more than a year ago, there i had HIV and syphilis test done, plus a chest x-ray - ALL IS NEGATIVE. usics said that if the medical was done a year ago in your country then you dont need to do another medical but just to send the vaccination form as what this instruction about medical exam is saying:

    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

    8. Fiancé(e)s.

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment-of-status application.

....so why the HIV and Syphillis test again? btw are you the beneficiary? when did u actually had the TB skin test from ur cs?

  16. were already married now and were planning to file the AOS by this month. i know that the I-693 is part of the filing, so our concern is this....

i went to a CS here in Southern Cali a month BEFORE me and my love got married. we paid for an amount and there, i had an HPV 2nd dose and the CS told us to just ask her the I-693 and she'll give it to us, we didnt ask for it since were not married yet at that time.

i'm just wondering why didnt she do a TB skin test on me at the time i went there the 1st time.

is anybody here from cali who can share the process from the 1st time you went to a CS up to receiving the I-693... when did your cs do a TB test on u?

  17. ok...i went to the CS and she gave me my 2md dose of HPV, since were not married yet, we cant file AOS for the mean time. the CS told me and my fiance that we can just ask for the I-693 and she'll give it to us anytime we want it..she even told us that its funny cus on the I693, theres no space for the CS to sign in..

im wondering, since i read it on thr uscis website that all petitioned aliens are rewuired to undergo a skin test...so when will that happen?

is there anybody here whose really familiar with the flow of AOS filing and TB skin testing...when we file for the AOS we just dont want to get an RFE..thats why im asking about this..to make things clearer for us

  18. thats why one should really get to know their partner before going into marriage..if someone goes into marriage right away, say aftr a few a months of having a bf/gf relationship and the cheating suddenly happen, the victim always end up saying.." why??"..

the answer is...cus they dont REALLY love you.

true love takes time to grow... it takes time to develop... it takes time to get stronger....and true love never hurts.

you'd rather get the true ones than the fake ones eh?

**for the thread's concern: old people, just be cautious when falling inlove with a very young one.

  19. what if i applied after the 76th day? WHAT WIL HAPPEN? i dont think that means i wont get an ssn FOR LIFE?????

I was assuming you were asking about applying as a K-1. After the 76th day you will need an EAD card or I-551 stamp or card to be assigned an SSN.

thanks ..thanks for "nOt quitting" in helping us answers our questions :) yes im under K1.

ok so i can see 2 point of views in applying before OR after the 76th day, correct me if im wrong on this...

    1. APPLYING FOR SSN 2 WEEKS AFTER I ARRIVE IN THE U.S. - they will issue me an SSN even without EAD YET.

    2. APPLYING FOR SSN AFTER THE 76TH DAY - they will NOT issue me an SSN WITHOUT EAD

..let say il be doing number 2, may i ask how long does it take to get an EAD?

also, im required to give my ssn to be able to receive my nurse license, will they follow the name written on the SSN or whats on the passport? (cus im thinking, my license has to be my married name since il be using that for life)

thanks u in advance for the clarification
