  1. And another little update: got an e-mail from USCIS on Friday saying that my AP had been approved and the notice was mailed on March 11  Waiting for it in the mailbox on Monday. The LUD on the site is dated March 12.

wow! nice! no new updates in my case yet since the biometrics appt. i have a question though.

thoughmy case cant be seen online yet, will i still receive an email from the uscis with regards to my aos? how do you receive an email info from them? DO I NEED TO REGISTER OR SOMETHING?

  2. The CS will tell you what additional vaccinations you need to have based on the DS-3025 that you give him. If he already did your I-693, then I think there's no problem.

Just in case the CS overlooked one and the USCIS sees it, they will send you an RFE. I was glad they did notice that I had no TB Skin Test on my I-693. . :innocent:

in my slec medical, they didnt make a mark on the hepa vaccination telling me that i need to get the shot..im jus wondering why other aos applicants get it for their aos application. does anybody here took a hepa vacc or didnt get the shots but still has been approved for green card?

btw, i had my medical in pi last yr of july.

  3. u know im a bit confused whether its a requirement or not upon aos processing to get a hepa a or b vaccine. i know its listed to the vaccination chart but my point is, is this required BY THE uscis for immigration proccesses or its mainly a vaccination u can get if u want protection, like HPV.

is this some type of vaccine that would make the uscis aos interviewer hold my papers and not approve it if he see that i didnt get a shot of it

  4. There's a chart on p. 2 of this document http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5753-Immunization.pdf

ok..narrowing my question now.. (tnx for the previous responses) are hepa A and B vaccine "required" for AOS filing?

If you look at the whole document, you will see footnotes about the different vaccines. From p. 4 you will see reasons why one would need the two Hepatitis vaccinations. See if you fit in any of the scenarios. Like are you having sex with someone who has Hepatitis? Do you work in a lab with the Hep A virus? Do you have chronic liver disease? If you don't fit into any of the reasons, then no you don't have to get it.

    9. Hepatitis A vaccination

Medical indications: Persons with chronic liver disease and persons who receive clotting factor concentrates.

Behavioral indications: Men who have sex with men and persons who use illegal drugs.

Occupational indications: Persons working with hepatitis A virus (HAV)–infected primates or with HAV in a research laboratory setting.

Other indications: Persons traveling to or working in countries that have high or intermediate endemicity of hepatitis A (a list of countries is available at http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/contentdiseases.aspx) and any person seeking protection from HAV infection.

Single-antigen vaccine formulations should be administered in a 2-dose schedule at either 0 and 6–12 months (Havrix®), or 0 and 6–18 months (Vaqta®). If the combined hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccine (Twinrix®) is used, administer 3 doses at 0, 1, and 6 months; alternatively, a 4-dose schedule, administered on days 0, 7, and 21 to 30 followed by a booster dose at month 12 may be used.

    10. Hepatitis B vaccination

Medical indications: Persons with end-stage renal disease, including patients receiving hemodialysis; persons with HIV infection; and persons with chronic liver disease.

Occupational indications: Health-care personnel and public-safety workers who are exposed to blood or other potentially infectious body fluids.

Behavioral indications: Sexually active persons who are not in a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship (e.g., persons with more than 1 sex partner during the previous 6 months); persons seeking evaluation or treatment for a sexually transmitted disease (STD);current or recent injection-drug users; and men who have sex with men.

Other indications: Household contacts and sex partners of persons with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection; clients and staff members of institutions for persons with developmental disabilities; international travelers to countries with high or intermediate prevalence of chronic HBV infection (a list of countries is available at http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/contentdiseases.aspx); and any adult seeking protection from HBV infection.

i got it...but im pertaining to IF USCIS is requiring it, i know its mandatory for each qualified person whos under the indications but my question is in relation to filing for the aos.

e.g. can i get the vaccine even after aos interview or after i receive the green card?

  5. Thanks. Well, here's what happened with the vaccination:

First, when my wife had her medical exam (in Argentina) the doctor said that although she had all required vaccines, she should get Hepatitis B (not required in Argentina) and an updated Tetanus. So, the doctor signed/approved her vaccine transcription without the vaccines listed above. That sealed envelope is what was sent to the Embassy and which she gave to an officer at the U.S. Port of Entry.

Second, when submitting the AOS, we attached a supplement that said that they should have already received the medical examination records and she did not get a copy of the vaccine transcription. We didn't get an RFE requesting vaccination records or anything medical-related while waiting for the interview. But, as we suspected that that could happen, we asked Dr. Arnold for an updated transcription so that USCIS could see that she got the Hepatitis B and the updated Tetanus sometime in between her first medical and now being in the U.S. Basically, she got the transcription from Dr. Arnold just to be safe and to prove the vaccines had been updated.

hepatits B? or A? cus as far as what uscis requiring its hepatits A..just asking to be sure..was it really B? also the uscis website said that those who are subjected to get the new list of vaccination are those who had their medical examination on or after aug 1 2008.

geezz,,im confused..uuhhmm when did ur spouse had her medical in their country?

  6. u know i have a question to all those who had their 1st medical exam (most likely at their home country)

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

    based on the above website:

    Vaccinations

Q: What are the new vaccination requirements?

The CDC has revised its vaccination requirements. As of July 1, 2008, the following additional vaccinations are required in order to adjust status to legal permanent resident:

    *

    Rotavirus

    Hepatitis A

    Meningococcal

    Human papillomavirus

    Zoster

NOTE: Some of these vaccinations are required for certain age groups only. During the examination with the civil surgeon, he or she will review the vaccination history, and may determine that certain vaccinations are not necessary or not appropriate. Specific information on vaccines, including tables on age-appropriate vaccines and ACIP recommendations, are available at CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) website, accesible in the related links section of this page.

Q: When will the new vaccination requirements become effective?

The new vaccination requirements became effective on July 1, 2008. However, CDC approved a 30 day grace period until August 1, 2008. Therefore, for any medical exam conducted on or after August 1, 2008, the new vaccinations, if appropriate, must be administered in order for USCIS to approve the applicant for adjustment of status.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so this pertains for AOS applicants correct? my question is, if you had your 1st shots of vaccination in your home country as a requirement for K visa on or after August 2008 and you submitted your AOS january 2009, will you be now under the new vaccination guidelines or will still be under the previous vaccination requrements??

P.S. can somebody give a link or maybe somebody knows what are the required vaccination before it has been revised?

im asking this topic cus i read one post here that after she had her interview this February 2009, she was asked to sent a I-693 and the vaccination supplement eventhough her 1st medical exam for K visa happened April of 2008. ( i thought it is valid for a yr?) actually i had my medical exam in the PI July 2008 and to be sure, eventhough uscis said theres no need for K visa holders to redo a medical exam upon submission of aos, i went to a cs november 2008 and had a new full medical exam.

  7. and he let me keep the EAD for future jobs that might appear during this upcoming weeks..

Im really happy and exited... I cant believe how good and fast this was...

Thank you for the support and.. good luck to the ones that have their interviews coming up!!

very easy huh? nice! and good thing he let you keep ur ead, i heard one story that her ead was taken, i wonder why...

  8. and to see an updated vaccination record. She had the vaccination and medical information from the embassy but one vaccine was missing from the transcription. Luckily, we planned ahead for this and had a Dr. Arnold transcription just in case.

    wow!!! celebration!!!!!

congrats to you two! just a question, when she was asked for an updated vaccination, what did u show to the interviewer? i mean, didnt the transcription of Dr. Arnold is supposed to be sent together with the AOS?

and oh, why did they took your partners ead?

  9. Our biometric appointments went smoothly for both my wife and step-daughter. I took the marriage license since the appointment letter was issued in my wife's new name but her passport displayed her old name. The worker took both in at the same time, and 15 minutes later, we were leaving! I was a bit surprised that I was told to "wait here" while they went down the hall, but it was fine with me.

oh..the petitioner wont go with the beneficiary inside? hhmmm...does anybody know what exsctly happens in biometrics?

  11. actually the TB skin test is required for aliens entering the u.s., the one that waivers is the FULL MEDICAL EXAM. that is if you had ur medicals in the PI before a certain date, which i think is July 2008. check uscis website to be sure.

tb skin test is required no matter what

  12. we got our 3 noa1's im just wondering, on the form at the upper portion where your information are typed. the ASC CODE for my EAD and AOS has a number but on the priority date box, nothing is typed for both application. on my AP there is nothing on the ASC CODE box and on the priority date box, theres a letter "A" typed in it.

is this usual? whats in urs, those whove gotten their noa1s

    i have exactly the same.

oh wow..atleast i know its not unusual.

    Wow that was lightening quick...........

We just received a notice for AOS initial interview for March 25th. Case status online doesn't show any changes yet. But the I-797 was in my mailbox today. How is it moving this quick? Tiff didn't even get her EAD yet.....

:wow: Lucky! Hope the rest of us get speedy interviews too!

Same here - I think it's because no biometrics are needed for AP papers? So there's no need to go to an ASC for biometrics for AP. :)

oh so no worries about this..i dont know wat asc stands for really.. heheheh
