  1. hello! im getting my gown here in manila but i dnt know where. my budget for that is only P10,000. can anyone help me?

hi they said we can find cheap but pretty wedding gowns in Divisoria,, but I havent look there yet...

aahh...i heard lots of people advicing that too..hhmm..i myt check it out..btw, does the mothers should be wearing a different color motif from the brides maid and maid of honor??

  2. i saw one, theyre a DECEMBER filer though..CSC too.

    NOA1 : 12-07-2008

    Touched : 03-19-2008

    NOA2 : 03-19-2008

    Touched : 04-08-2008

    Touched : 04-22-2008

yeah i know ur noticing that NOA1 date..mYBe they mistakenly put 2008 instead of 2007...i didnt edit so its copied frm the original...the couple names are "RANIE AND GLEN"

im waiting with anticipation (still) that me and sweetheart will gt that NOA2 by MAY

  3. i found this couple whos originally a september filer who got approved and made an " expedite request"..can anybody tell me wat this expedite request is? and is that some sort of a special request that a filer can apply for? OUR application was mistakenly sent to CHICAGO and i just wondered upon reading the post who was approved through that expedite thingy, does uscis makes a special processing for those applications that was mistakenly sent to a different SC?? then why the heck our application hasnt approved yet?

oh Lord give me more patience..

  4. just read from some posts that there were "lucky" csc december filers who got approved already. though most approvals are from november filers without rfe. shes, try the timeline search in vj. i usually search for people who got approved recently (you can put the dates that you want) then look at those people's timelines to see when they filed. but of course, that's just based on filers that are here in vj.

uscis actually posts which files they are currently working at (*check uscis processing times) but i guess it's not really accurate. or at least i hope its not accurate because the last time i checked, it says that they're still working on september files.

oh yeah...ive heard for so many times that "igor's list"....where and what is that? where is it based from?

i agree! there were december filers who got their approval, while some november filers still havent got theirs...my opinion is, i think the files sometimes are just scattered in an adjudicator's desk and randomly, he'll jus pick up a file then examines it...ofcourse these adjudicators are also "HUMAN"..not robots... so some rough roads on the way are expected..

i still believe that theres nothing impossible with God. considering "rough roads", prayer is the key (seriously)

  5. And now that I got my NOA2 last week it seems there is another dead zone before CSC mails it off to NVC some people have been waiting 3 weeks. It is truely maddening.

hey Sylvia /Joseph! u said u got your NOA2???? when did you file ur petition? r u a K1 applicant as well as the CSC?

hope things are moving for us, January filers...id rather accept it slow but still moving..than not processing at all for the January filers

  6. WWAAAHH!!!! na excite ako lalo satin!!! gabriela and d bears! we'll have the best wedding, God willing!!!

and sunnybear.........u left my mouth open wen i read ur gown is from ALFRED ANGELO.......OMG! i know exactly wat ur talkin about ..i have this magazine with lots of alfred angelo's collection..i was like..how i wish, that wud be mine..hahhaaha! the color theme of our wedding is inspired by their shades though...

still left in awe about the ALFRED ANGELO gown...wwheew!

to all filipinos here...im kinda down ...Ramiele Malubay was out from American Idol..(sniff)

  7. wat do you mean the others? our relatives?......my fiance is also a filipino (by blood) so in short, his parents wants the traditional filipino, "invite all people we know" type of wedding.hahaahh! well me and future hubby just wants to enjoy our special day, we talked things out that we'll let God's will in everthing about the wedding be done. so.. hassles out, stress out, expectations out, watever comes,it'll stl make our wedding very special

how about u? u mentioned ul stl get wed here in PI? wer u at in the PI ryt now by the way

i meant the other vj members reading this post.

  8. thanks so much shes for the tips! i was planning to compare wedding stuff prices in the US and philippines.. but you saved me the time. and i therefore conclude, DIVISORIA is the place!

how about the others? getting excited to prepare the your wedding too? wanna hear your stories :luv: and shes, you can keep us updated abt ur wedding preparations. that would be nice!

  9. skip the day tour! they will bring you to a crocodile farm (i doubt if you havent seen one in the zoo), a prison (they will just bring you to the souvenir shop), and a bakeshop with statues (yah, nice for picture taking but.. you wont go all the way to palawan to see statues right?)

if you're going to puerto princesa, make sure you spend 1 whole day in honda bay, another day for dos palmas (BEST fishfeeding experience in my life!) and to the famous underground river.

weee!!!! oh my goodness! feeding the fishes sounds so fun! thanks! im excited for the philippine spots tour but im more excited for our wedding ryt now!!!

originally, we plan to have a civil wedding in the US then come back to the philippines for the traditional church wedding because all my family and friends are here. would that be a nice plan??? :help: but im scared that once the civil wedding is done, i'd be so lazy to fix a philippine church wedding esp if im the US already. :P

actually im considering a crazy vegas civil wedding. i told my fiance i wanna ride a helicopter and get married in the valley of fire. but i dont think he's taking me seriously hehe

anybody here had a vegas wedding? or planning to have one? just thinking of a fun and non-traditional civil wedding.

shes, is it cheaper to buy wedding stuff here in the philippines? goodluck with the wedding preparations! you sound excited :luv:

u seem to be the modern fancy type of bride i think  thats one unique smart idea (the choper and vegas wedding) well, watever the type of our weding will be, as long as were gonna have it out of proclaming our Love for our swethearts, everything will be perfect!

about the wedding stuff..yeah, its cheaper here...to top that is the gown, my goodness i check out beautiful gowns in the U.S. (like the ones you can get from a boutique) and it cost alot!!!! but if you'll check the designs...girl! you can find same designs, some are more elegant looking here in the Philippines - ready made or tailored.

ready made - you can check out divisoria, they have alot over there( i havent checked personally but a frend of mine who knows someone who had a wedding in the U.S.,this someone bought her gown here in PI and everybody there were stunned by her gown) - you can also ask to adjust the gown you choose) i heard a P10,000 gown is already at its best though, you can still get elegant gowns for as low as P5,000

tailored - my sister in-law got a very elegant gown tailored for P20,000. it took 3mos before it was done.

about the other stuff like, give aways, hey!u can get P50 per item - also theres alot at divisoria

again my sister-in-law got a white classic, abstract looking bride and groom hugging each other give away for only P60 each..(its modern looking, not the common figurine..)

even the flower arrangement...im even thinking to get it here..(just that one for decorations) but the one il be holding and the brides will be from there cus ofcourse,it shuld be fresh :P

but the invitations..this one i found out just almost the same price in the U.S. so we'll get it there too..

oh and finally the wedding band!!!!!!!!!!! hey it is best to get it here..why? cus in the U.S. they dont have a 24K gold or white gold..if there is it cost ALOT! my again, sister in law (shes a jeweler) told me that you can get a P5,000 worth wedding band here. P10,000 is thicker.

my fiance, the engagement ring he gave me from a branded jeweler in the states cost $215..so if ul compute,an egagement ring in the U.S. equals the price of a 18K to 24K white gold wedding band (2 rings) here in the P.I.

try to buy some U.S. bridal magazine. u can compare the prizes....

  10. i went to palawan last summer. honda bay is BEAUTIFUL! snake island is the most beautiful thing i ever saw. a friendly advice though, skip the day tour around puerto princesa! its a waste of time. better spend your palawan days on beaches and the underground river.

hope you and your honey can tour the philippines soon!

and yes sunnybear, pls share your wedding preparation stories. we'd love to hear them. :D

oh yeah, weather the cheap one or luxurious, theyre all the same cus the beach is all that matters! hehehe! il take ur advice about touring palawan..really? puerto prinsesa is jus a waste of time?..hhmm,,..i wonder why.. and yeah talking about preparations, wer will you get ur wedding stuff? im planning to get all here in the P.I.

oh and il do that too once NOA2 arrives

oh my..i suddenly felt my heart jumped! excited and nervous in one!hahaah!

  11. Did anyone start gathering information for the next part of the process? Did the US citizens start filing the I-134 and gathering financial proofs? Did some foreign fiances ask their police certificate and birth certificate to their government?

well im kinda thinking to get police certificate on mid may, well as soon as my fiance gets the NOA2. due to some documents expires in mos so we better get it at its freshest!!!

  12. well, i was reviewing the timelines of couples here in VJ and i found out that majority of the applicant's span of time from wen they got their NOA1 til theyve received their NOA2 is up to 3-4 mos..so january filers, we'll expect approvals coming this month til mid may! wwoohoo!

then to add up...still, based on what i observed frm VJers timelines..the span of time frm when they receive their NOA2 til they get an approval from their embassy interview is just for month. so us, january filers are expecting to be interviewed at the embassy on JulyAugust-ish..

and hopefully fly to the U.S. right after our approval!!!!!!!! star_smile.gif

  13. i agree that theres a lot of beautiful spots in davao as well..but i havent been there. wish me and my babe can go for a tour around the philippines soon.. and hey gabriela! wer at boracay will u stay? ul definitely love it there! its the finest of the finest beaches in the world! .... im interested in honda bay palawan though..

hey sunnybear, u already got the gown and place?? wow! mind sharing what would your wedding reception be like?..i kinda need to know how much per person for the food..how much wud be the budget for us to get, let say a "class B" wedding reception in any appropriate place in southern california..san diego area.

yeah, we'll soon get our application aprroved!!!!
