My case was scheduled for an interview today! 

I called SS on 12/15, 12/20 and 12/24 before going for an appointment on 12/27/2021. SSA looked at two systems and said that a number was never issued. I also contacted USCIS and the rep said that I should contact SSA. USCIS says to contact SSA if you do not receive your SSN number in 7 business days.

I will let you all know if I receive another SSN for my husband. 

I received mine yesterday but I went to the SS office on 12/27/2021. I called the office on 12/24/21 and was told to come in because there was nothing on file for my husband.

The card came in a priority mailing envelope. It did update online. I was never sent a tracking number.

I'm waiting for the interview date now.

Everything was closed when he arrived due to COVID. Thus, we had to wait on the I-485 process. He is over 26. Thank you for your post.

My husband's EAD card is being produced. He selected that he wanted a social security number to sent to him on the I-485. Is there anything else he should do to get a SS number quickly?

Hello,

I was able to open a joint account with my husband who does not have a SSN at Santander Bank. Once I received the bank card from Santander, I was able to use that to open another joint bank account at Citibank. 

After I read people's response to this post, I called Citibank and was able to add my husband to my credit card as an authorized user. I spoke to a representative that advised me to add him online since I wouldn't be asked for a SSN. 

I wanted to share this information since I have learned so much from the people here. You all are an asset.

Hello Everyone,

My husband has been here since last year. His I-94 expired and we filed for AOS. While we are waiting for him to get his EAD card, I would like for him to get his SSN. What can we do at this point?

Do you guys suggest I hold off on the honeymoon or is it relatively safe for him to travel with his passport?

I filed for AOS for my husband in May. We would like to go to on a honeymoon on the other side of the US. Is he able to get on a plane and return home without issues?

I had to submit AOS for my husband twice due to a visa issue. Under the first AOS, my husband had his biometrics taken in January. I refiled on May 6th. USCIS used his old biometrics from 1/2021 and posted it to our account on 6/8/2021. Hopefully this makes my case move faster.

He had it taken here in NYC in 1/2021. 

Biometrics  was applied to my case on 6/8/21.

He had his biometrics taken earlier this year. I'm hoping his EAD and AP are approved soon.
