My wife has interview scheduled for 7-17 in Sarajevo, Bosnia

She got same paperwork from NVC that I got here.

She didn't get anything from the embassy, so I called them yesterday.

They told me they are not sending anything, the NVC schedules appoitments and sends all the paperwork.

I thought the embassy sends the interview letter.

Is this something new or it is different from embassy to embassy?

I got a letter from police station saying that only location taht can issue a police certificate is the police station in the city of person's birth, so I hope it is gonna help

it is wrong

they can't know the law of a country better then people who made that law

it is very simple

you need only last return, which is 2007

either you have an income above or under 125 % line

since you are under then you gonna need some assets or joint sponsor

I think it is easier to find a joint sponsor the deal withe assets

anybody can be joint sponsor

just read the guidelines

it doesn't matter what is your 2006 income since they are not asking for it

you can include 2006 but it is not required

that would be to much paperwork for those "tired workers" at the NVC

I had also a joint sponsor

I am still at the beginning

they still require that stupid certificate

they say their data show that she can go to the police station where she lives and apply for certificate and then they gonna get the certificate from birth place and convert it to a final certificate

those people in Bosnia , they are laughing to us

they say all data in Bosnia go to the birth place and they are responsible for that certificate, not the police of the city where she lives now

They gave her a letter that says that they are not responsible for that kind of certificate

I am just waiting for translation

it sucks that the NVC thinks they know the law of all countries better then the citizens of those countries

that certificate is valid for the whole country

That is what Bosnian law says

But, NVC apparently knows better what is the law in Bosnia

I did not speak to a supervisor, they just told me they gonna hand the case to a supervisor

I hope those letters from local police and Bosnian embassy herein USA are gonna help

My wife can only get police certificate from the place where she is born, because all data in Bosnia go to one place - place of birth

But, the NVC is asking in RFE letter for police certificate from the place where she lives now -a different city

I told them what is the rule in Bosnia, they told me they now rules in every country

4 days now on the phone between NVC, police in Bosnia, US Embassy in Bosnia

The NVC told me yesterday that my wife should get some paper from police that says that she can nort get police certificate from that city and the senf it to the NVC and that should be fine

She is gonna get that paper on Monday - I hope so

I called them again Today and they promised me to give the case to supervisor and review it again in 10-15 days

I also requested same info form Bosnian Embassy here in USA

They gonna send it to me on Monday

Anybody had the same situation?

NVC knowing better what are rules in one country the the government of taht country

My wife was born in Banja Luka

She got police certificate from that place

Now, the NVC is requesting police certificate from Sanski Most ( place where she lives now)

Police in that city told her that she only can get certificate from birth town, since all data in Bosnia go to the town of birth

But, the NVC is requesting that certificate

I called embassy In Bosnia, they told me that she should be able to get that certificate

I called the Cantonal Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP in that region - Bihac )

They told me that she should be able to get the certificate

I called police in her city of living, they told me NO WAY she can't get certificate even if I bribe them

I guess I can't get my wife to USA because of some stupid people

I did not put anything for A#

I did not know that the number is on NOA2

I got 2 false rfe in 2 days for the same reason - ds-230 not in the system yet

after I called nvc they told me not to worry

From my experience ( IR1/CR1):

I did not submit anything like that and I think 99% of us did not submit anything like that

It can't hurt to send it

But I don't think you need it

But if you are in K1 process it might be necessary for something like that

If you are already married, then marriage certificate is sufficient

Later for interview, most important is to have pictures and phone bills that show both phone numbers yours and your husband/wife

But Today is Saturday and can't wait until Monday, so I am asking you guys

I called them on Friday, they told me they received I-864 in Tuesday, but didn't see the ds-230 in the system yet

I know they received ds-230 Tuesday( usps says Tuesday )

Today the automated system says"

On May 2nd we reviewed your forms and documents and found info or documents missing?

Can this be the missing ds-230 that is still waiting to be entered in the system or is is really something missing in the ds-230 package?

Yes Diana, you are 100 % right regarding Embassy, but regarding the NVC I think theuy would like to read it in English

Anyway, it doesn't hurt to have them translated

if you send them to the NVC then, yes you have to translate

but, for interview purpose you don't have to translate if documents are in the same language that is spoken in the country of interview

But, if you translate the documents for NVC, it doesn't hurt to translate them for interview purpose as well

it is better to have it translated then to have your appointment moved just because you are missing translations

In my case it meant

DS-230

It was generated on 04-14 and I received it Today

I live with my parents too

However, he is not part of my household

we do share the same address, that is all

it would be different if I had a son eho is part of MY household and I am using his income to supplement my income

Then I would use for him I-864A

so I let him fill out I-864 as the only joint sponsor

I sent it yesterday, so let's see what is gonna happen

you don't need to send 3 years of tax return

they are valid for 1 year no matter what country

They use always US Embassy rule( USA rule) , which is 1 year

they don't use local country rules

but anyway, I still don't understand all those questions

he has to be in his country to do medical before interview

if he works outside his country yhen damn stop working and get visa and come here and join us

Also , when I call automated system it says

"The NVC has generated on 4/14 packet of instructions and documents"

is that connected with those changes, because that message is not in Wiki

I called NVC they said that means that the ds-230 form is generated

the form itself is free,

you pay to NVC the processing fee for that form ( I guess the are checking your income with IRS, that costs money)

the petitioner pays that, because they gonna be reviewing the petitioners taxes

when your petition is approved by USCIS start gathering all those documents(police certificate etc. so you have enough time
