  1. There is currently a huge delay in passport application processing. That is given that you can find an appointment as USPs or a local library.

many years ago they used to take forms and take your picture for passport processing after your oath at the campbell stadium I believe in Houston, that is when my sister become a US citizen.

    ps

Even last year, it took me awhile to find an appointment at UsPS to get my passport.
    good luck

  2. It shouldnt take more than 30 days.

I believe this is what happened

since they went back to normal(pre-pandemic), they are pooling more people to take oath in bigger groups with less frequency. Back in January, they were groups of 20-30 people everyday. I know this because I asked the officer that interviewed me. They used to do less oath events prior to the pandemic…but now you have way more people applying and more backlogged cases…

what’s ironic is that they are interviewing way more people

    Hi all,

Curious how long did it take for y'all from application to interview being scheduled? Looking at the Houston timelines it varies from 3 months to almost two years.... not sure what to expect 😕

I filed on Feb 21 under 5 year rule.

I believe it is pure luck for some people

I filed on April 29 2021 and got interviewed on Dec 10. Took oath on Jan 12.

No, i applied a couple of days after my oath ceremony and received it about a month or 6 weeks later. The naturalization certificate took 2 months to get back

I forgot to ask, did you write a personal check or got a money order to pay for the passport? and did you choose to expedite it?

I set my passport appt on Jan 21 since it is overbooked everywhere.

    Thanks!

we were surprised to get passport in 3 weeks. And the Social Security updating took about 45 days.

IS it true that it is better to wait 1 week after oath to get the passport appointment? A friend told me that the information might not be in the system yet if I applied on the same week of my oath ceremony.

How long you waited for the passport appointment?

    Thank you!

I was interviewed on the November 29 (Approved the same day) . Still not date for the oath it seems like they are taking over 4 weeks to schedule

Does anyone knows how long usually it takes to get a date here in Houston?

Each case is different , but it took me 2 weeks and 3 days approx

my interview was on Dec 10th and I got the schedule oath notice on the 27th

The oath appointment letter explicitly asks candidates to bring proof of travel outside the states made after the N400 interview. I can’t find my itinerary (I think I probably hard deleted it from my email inbox). Would the stamps on my passport be enough to prove it? Any other recommendations?

The stamps are sufficient , they just want to see you didn't spend more than 6 months outside

You were right.  The letter was there.  My interview is on January 12th!!  Can you share the link you are referring to?  I ordered a book to read and study but I'll also follow up with the youtube videos (Im a perfectionist)!! lol  And just so I'm clear - should I be also taking copies of utility bills etc with both our names on it just to prove we still live together?  Thanks everyone!
