Hi,
I don't know what to put in the "reason for denial" section. Whatever it was, it wasn't even true, as the purpose of the trip was indeed tourism.. I don't think it's a good idea to remind them of that poor reasoning, especially if they have it saved in the records anyway. What do you guys think?

A passport for the USC is usually fine. But if there is no passport then the other docs are needed.
Thank you for your quick response!!! I think it will be enough too, we shall see.

Hello,
Please help, need to know ASAP for interview tomorrow! USCIS documents don't match very well. On the checklist, it says USC passport is sufficient. However, on I-797C Notice of Action it says to bring "your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship". I thought a passport would suffice, but this letter doesn't list it! I guess I might be in trouble now as I went off the checklist and don't have the certificate. Does anyone know it they will accept the passport instead?

Thanks for your responses, very helpful.

Thank you, everyone, for your responses. I am now curious, so do Mexico and Canada for real make exceptions? It would be fun to go some time without going through the visa process.

Hi,
I now have a 10 year permanent resident green card. I am curious if it is of any help for traveling purposes. Does it authorize me to enter European counties like a U.S. citizen, meaning without a visa? Or does this green card only work for entering the U.S.?
Thanks!

Wow, what a discussion that has started! This is great, thank you for the insight! Now yet another interesting question, is there anyone out there who will be or has moved to the country where their spouse is from? We would like to go live in Russia and in my understanding USC can't accept the citizenship of another country without renouncing the blue passport. Any thoughts?

THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED!

This is probably a very stupid question, but are the affidavits required? Is there anyone who filed, received the card, and didn't supply an affidavit? USCIS hints towards including them, VJ guide says no, so just want to get a for sure yes/no answer. Thanks a lot again!!!

I am curious, why are people going through this process because it seems that LPR is just as fine too.. Can I go live in my home country or somewhere in Europe once I receive USC citizenship? I am guessing the LPR will eventually expire, so maybe becoming USC is worth while just for ease of travel and if I want to return here to visit..

That sounds like quite a process! I will be filing I-751 shortly, thanks to all who replied to this post! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to questions like this..

I agree with this advice. You have proof of changing the address.....it matters most that you are current, so just send a copy of the 2 AR-11s with your I-751, and list & flag them in your cover letter. Stop stressing you are fine!
Ok, thank you to both! So you're suggesting not filing another I-865 at this point? With AR-11's I am covered; just didn't know about the sponsor since the latest I-865 is missing! I read on the forum that a lot of people are sending in their I-865 late just to send it, I wish I knew for sure if I sent it in or not! Do they even check I-865?
-
Thanks. Actually, after enough looking we found 2 AR-11 forms and one I-865 (not the latest though). Do you know if there's a # to call to double check they have the latest I-865 for my husband? I also saw in some posts that if you forgot to file I-865, just file it again. I am just not so sure I forgot, so I don't know if we need to again.. Sorry, I am sure it's not the first post like this, but I am freaking out because of all those fines. I know nobody else got fined, but they all sent theirs in sooner than later! USCIS stresses me out!

Can anyone help with this one.. I do believe we filed both AR-11 and I-865 for our 2 moves in the last 2 years, although struggling to find photocopies now What bothers me is that I received a notice to file I-751 that got sent to my oldest address, the one that was listed on all of the immigration forms, but we haven't been living there for 2 years now! It makes me wonder, did they never receive any of my change of address for 2 moves?! I don't know what to do now.
I don't know if filing another set of change of address forms is the right idea at this point, especially since I do believe we did it already. Do I need to call - any idea what # to call on this? Are both Ar-11 and I-865 processed by the same agency or do I need to call multiple agencies now? I'm in my 90 day to file for removal of conditions, please advise what's best to do.
Thank you all.

Thank you very much, you answered the question.

Hello,
I just read this post below and maybe someone can help me clarify this. I have been married to a US citizen, so I seem to qualify, but is it 3 years including conditional permanent residency or only 3 years after the conditions are removed? I thought I might also qualify for naturalization with military benefits, but my husband is not deploying anywhere right now. He has been deployed before and he is in the National Guard. Does the spouse have to be deployed to get any faster processing? On top of this, I am now in the 90 day window to file for removal of conditional status. I saw the $500 something fee and wondered if I am now stuck paying that - not sure when I can file for naturalization and if it could save me anything if I started now.
Just confused period, please help.
"Family Members of U.S. Citizens
Spouses of U.S. Citizens
Generally, certain lawful permanent residents married to a U.S. citizen may file for naturalization after residing continuously in the United States for three years if immediately preceding the filing of the application:
the applicant has been married to and living in a valid marital union with the same U.S. citizen spouse for all three years;
the U.S. spouse has been a citizen for all three years and meets all physical presence and residence requirements; and
the applicant meets all other naturalization requirements."

This is a question to those who have recently traveled or know someone who has.. I am going to Russia in a few weeks for a visit (from the USA). Are there any delays in airports of Europe, Russia, or USA due to swine flu?
Please reply!
Nne that I am aware of. My wife just went bak to Ukraine yesterday and is presently on the train to Donetsk, no problems. Our son is in Moscow and reports no problems in that regard
Thanks to all!

Those are the only forms to be filled, i-185 is to be filled by the petitioner and AR-11 by the beneficiary. You can fill up AR-11 online.
Thanks. How soon does i-865 need to be sent off?
-
Please advise, after moving, do I need to file anything else besides AR-11 and I-865?? Thanks.
-
HI, so just to confirm, the wedding date has nothing to do with then you'd file to remove conditions, correct? You have to look at the date of arrival in the U.S. + 2 years and then file within the 90 days of the end of that time frame? Just want to be sure.. thanks to all who answer
Is the form pretty hard to fill out from your experience?
Thanks
Not the wedding date .
look at the date it said on the GREEN CARD.
Nothing is Hard. Just read and follow the Instruction.
File to remove conditions three months before expiration of conditional green card.
Thanks, you two!

I think most immigration attorneys should be in prison for fraud! Nearly every one of them will tell you THEY can get the process done faster! Wrong! They use the USCIS timelines, more useless than you know what, and then show how they received NOA2s faster, as did everyone else since the USCIS timeline reflects the OLDEST case still in the system. They also tell you the USCIS considers "these to be scam marriages" and will TRY to kick you out of the system unless your paperwork is "absolutely perfect". What a crock!!!!!!!!!
Unless you have some sort of problem, criminal record, or some other issue, DO NOT even consider an attorney.
Gary
Agree! They told me it would cost about 1/3 of what I actually got charged. It wasn't a complicated case, in fact, maybe the easiest case ever! Gary, you're right, what do I say!

Yeah, that retarded law firm was recommended to me by a third party who probably got a cut. I seriously thought I knew more about immigration than that lawyer! The "lawyer" seemed to have no idea of what the process is like with I-130s. I wonder if it was that "lawyer's" first immigration case even though that "lawyer" was pretty old. Borene Law Firm is only considered "good", but all they do is suck your money out of you. Yeah, to the poster who only paid $1000 - you did get off cheap. It would take their secretary about 20 hours to just type up the stuff for the I-130's and I-129F. If you go with them, expect to be charged $5,000 to just have it typed up. Sounds like a deal, anybody, anybody?
