  1. Hello everyone! Im under the F3 family based category ,DQ'd in 2020.I  have been sent an email with intructions from the London Visa Unit asking me to :

1- Upload the civil documents,I-864 AOS and tax returns to CEAC

    2- contact Visa Medicals

3-Arrange delivery of documents and schedule an appoinment

I've read that the AOS doesn't expire therefore is valid from the moment the sponsor, joint sponsor signs it,some say you just need to add to the exisiting form the most recent tax returns, transcripts ,w2...,I would love to hear from the forum members experiences, advice regarding this important topic. Thanks for reading ...have a great day

Hi. I flew from Inverness and stayed in the Travelodge Vauxhall. Because mainly due to an early appointment and not being able to bring much other than your paperwork into the embassy.

It was fine, basic but there is a Waitrose right next door and it's a nice area. The only problem was only local cabs are allowed down that street and the one I ordered from the hotel wasn't prompt enough for my liking so I walked. It isn't far.

For the medical I stayed near Luton airport and cabbed in. I don't know why we can't do this in Edinburgh or Glasgow 🤨

I used the Minicabit app both times and they were great.

Thanks for that ! I like that Travelodge is just a walking distance from the embassy, I know what you mean ! I wish we could do this here in Scotland, having a Consulate in Edinburgh but it doesn’t do any visas.I will download the app, thank you so much

Oh also they are really flexible in mine and I think others' experience and it should be pretty easy to book and / or rearrange if needed around your embassy date when you have one. I arrived two hours early and they let me in when I arrived. So no worries on that score.

Hello  @Tristesse could i ask you for advice regarding the transportation,Im in Edinburgh .... and if you stayed overnight what place would you recommend ? Thank you

Thanks a lot ,I will take all this information into consideration, hopefully won’t be too long till I can book a date 🤞🏽

Good luck getting a time / date Natachito. I was looking in late May after I had an email saying things were slowly reopening. It was almost as if the system was still getting back up to speed after the lockdown but unless it has recovered I would really recommend checking at all kinds of random points in the day if you aren't already. You never know when slots are going to open up.

Thanks@Tristesse I’m constantly checking nothing so far ,I got everything ready (PC,summary ,etc) I’m thinking if I should go ahead and book medical 🤔

  6. Hi,I requested my summary from my GP and the print out has a couple of words marked out,I asked them why? The answer is that it contains third party information, someone else’s name is on it or the information is irrelevant to me or anyone ,it’s against the law that I can see this info, that the panel should be used to this.So my question is has anyone here had a similar experience about having information marked out from their summaries and did this represent a problem when having the medical ? I’m waiting on my police record that should arrive tomorrow and then I should be ready to book my interview and medical …though this summary is getting me all worried

I would first make sure I had everything needed for the medical in hand such as police certificate, immunizations, summary care record, etc, etc.

Once you have that in hand, I suggest find an interview date first. Since all the covid changes, there was a lot of times that no appointments showed up on the calendar. Not sure what the current situation is.  Secure an interview appointment then call to make your medical appointment about 7-10 days (at least) before the interview.

Fix your Ds-260 anytime before the interview.

Visa Medicals website with list of what to bring to appointment https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/

Thank you for your help ,I’m waiting for the police certificate, got the summary last week ,could I create the profile for the interview without selecting any date yet ?

  8. Hi everyone, our case is ready at the embassy ,received instructions to book medical and schedule interview ,which one you book first, would like to know your experience regarding this part,Im not sure if  I have to wait for ds260 to be unlocked as I need to update passport information after getting a renewal ,thanks for all your help

Thank you.  I saw a similar timeframe on a fb group so this helps a lot.  Roughly 8 weeks now for sure and well past the 30 business days they auto reply.

You’re welcome ,I’m glad it helps

Yes, it seems to be two years everywhere the UK. Here you have two options - the cheaper one (£55) which takes 12 working days to process and a couple more to mail out and the more expensive (£95) which takes four working days. I went for the cheaper one because I had time and it arrived within two weeks.

Really curious to find out your experience with the medical ,not sure if I should be asking about this on another thread

My first police certificate was issued in January 2020. The London embassy website says it considers a UK police certificate valid for only 12 months, so I had to get a new one. It arrived in plenty of time but there was confusion over how to add it to the CEAC system at this point in the process. So I showed them the certificate at the interview but they asked for it to be uploaded. That was done within hours of my interview and my case was approved two days later.

Very good you were prepared with a recently issued police certificate,my one is due to expire in September if I’m to follow the 2 year extension ,was it quick to order a new one from ACRO the second time around, thanks !

Just to let you know that I had my interview yesterday. All went smoothly - just waiting for an updated police certificate to be uploaded to the system and then I should be approved. I'll put some more details in the London Embassy Reviews section later today.
But I would say that the most useful thing for me was watching a couple of videos made by the embassy that walk you through what happens on the day. It got me mentally prepared for little things - for example, I had expected to be interviewed in a small room. But the video shows that you get called to a window, where you stand during your interview. But you have a shelf to put all your documents on. That sort of thing helped me in advance to know what to expect.

Congratulations on getting your interview …was your police certificate issued more than two years ago? As I understand DOS recently updated info regarding PC being valid for 2 years for immigration purposes
