Sucks less than the 1.5+ year wait time that many have to go through for the Seattle FO. Recent applicants are often closer to 12-13mo.

You can do virtual interviews? Do you request one, do they offer it, or do they force you to do it?
I saw my paper stack and it's huge, I can't see how the interviewer can take that crazy amount of paper home for all the people they're interviewing even in one day. Why even bother?
In Seattle office they are often doing virtual interviews. Interviewer can be in a remote location or in the office , but applicants need to go to uscis office in person. You won’t know until you go to USCIS office if it will be an in person or remote interview.

I appeared for my N400 virtual interview in Seattle center on 6/10. I passed English and Civic test, but the officer said that she was taking my interview from home. My files are in her office and doesn’t have access to my files from home. She said that she will need to review the files once she is in office . Until then she won’t be able to approve the case. Hence I have ‘passed’ box checked , but also ‘no decision can be made yet’ box checked. She mentioned that approximately a month might take for me to receive the decision. Has anyone have a recent experience similar to mine? If so, could you please let me know how long it took to receive the decision? Thanks

Have been lurking here for past few weeks to seek some answers for logistics questions I had. This might help those with similar questions.
Had my interview on June 6th. (I had applied on Dec 24 2020).
You can *take* phone/backpack/water inside the building. Security is less stringent than airport security.
I ubered to Tukwila ASC - find better than driving as you can relax.
You can get into the building 30 mins before the scheduled time. Mine was at 9:45, so I was in at 9:15. There will be line inside (after security) of those waiting to get checked in - it takes 4-5 mins per person to check in. So better get in the line 30 mins prior to interview.
Once I was checked-in, I had to barely wait for 5-10 mins before I was called for interview with an officer. So dont think of going to restroom after you check in.
You will be ushered into a office cubicle where you are asked to put all your stuff except passport, GC, and ID.
Interview was remote video call on iPad. (These cubicles are closely packed - so you can hear other interviewees!)
Officer was chatty and friendly - but the system she was working on was very slow. Most of interview time was spent on she navigating her system.
I have had GC for more than 14 years, but have stayed and traveled a lot outside the US during that period - so most of the application questions were around that (length of stays etc).
Civics test was a breeze:
Name one US territory.
who becomes president if both president and VP are unable to serve?
who is first president?
what did martin luther king jr do?
How many senators do we have?
I dont remember the 6th question.
was asked to read a sentence displayed on the tabled: "what do we have to pay to the US government"?
She then asked me to write: "We pay taxes"
I passed.
You get a "receipt" saying you passed. My Oath ceremony was not scheduled the same day though because of "system" issues. It will be scheduled in next 30 days. Curiously, the lady in next cubicle had her interview scheduled the same day. So not sure why mine was schedule for future. Anyone recently had this experience?
good luck!
Congratulations on getting your oath scheduled. I had my interview today. I passed the test. But the officer said that she was taking my interview from home. My files are in her office and doesn’t have access to my files from home. She won’t be able to approve me yet without reviewing the files, hence I have ‘passed’ box checked , but also ‘no decision can me made yet’ box checked. I asked her how long it might take to review the files. She said a month or less. Did you receive ‘No decision can me made’ box checked too or ‘ congratulation….. ‘ box checked? Thanks

Hey.. a good news and bad news for my parents
Good news: the interviewer did take corona as a reason and didnt had issue with more than 6 months absense.
Bad news: I did a miscalculation on number of days in USA - 5 years before and applied 20 days early. so they didnt meet the residency requirement :(. I even told the officer that they have not left outside of USA past 1.5 year. and to consider it. they said no, its the time before the application and not he interview.
they said to apply again, as they qualify again. but they get back into the queue and need to give interview and test again (which they aced)
thats a bummer. wish i was a bit lazy and took another month to apply for them. well it is what it is.
Oh no !!! It’s so disappointing! I am so sorry to hear that ! Thanks for your reply though. Really appreciate it.

thanks. No i did not apply for FOIA .. i read about it here but never did anything. Best of luck. i will also update the spreadsheet
Hope everything went well with your parents’ interviews. If I remember correctly your parents had an overseas trip over 6 months due to COVID related flight cancellation. I was also stuck out of USA over 6 months due to the same situation and my interview is coming up in 2 weeks. Would you mind sharing what they were asked about the Covid related overstay ? Thanks

Hi. Did you ever figure this out?
Nope. I have heard about one person who had interview at 1 pm and was able to attend the same day oath. But not sure what is the cut off time.
-
I understand Seattle USCIS office has same day oath ceremony option for N400 applicants. But could anyone please let me know what’s the cutoff time for the same day oath? My interview is scheduled for 2:30 pm. I have some upcoming travel plans. Wondering if I’ll be able to make it on the same day , it I get approved. Thanks

Congrats! Based on the timelines on here, Seattle is doing same day oath ceremonies. Per a couple of reports from earlier this year, the officers were administering the oath right in their office after the interview.
Thank you. I heard that if the interview time is before noon, then same day oath is offered. Not sure about that though. Since our interviews are scheduled at afternoon, I was wondering about it.
-
Just received interview notifications for my wife and me. Both of our interviews are on 2 separate days and in the afternoon ( even though we applied same day). One is at 12:45 and other at 2:30 pm.
Does Seattle office still offers same day oath ? And for afternoon interviews? ThanksN400 application: 1/29/2021
Biometric : 9/1/2021
Interview notification: 4/28/2022
Interview date : 6/10/22 and 6/16/2022

I filed FOIA request and received email below which provided link to open the letter. Unfortunately the site is not working and I even tried accessing using mobile network, home wifi, work network and even asked a friend but to no avail. Can anyone in the forum try? Let me know if there are other sites. I logged in to my account and tried to access from FOIA section as well. Thank you.

Is there any January 2021 applicant still waiting for interview notification? I noticed February applicants are receiving the notification now. I am 1/29/21 applicant, still waiting for interview notification.

Just got interview notification for my parents. Applied Jan 23, 2021 -- interview letter sent Apr 22, 2022. Interview date May 26,2022 in Tukwila
Need to make them practice on reading and writing part
Congratulations!!
Just curious - did you apply for FOIA? Or the notifications came on its own? My wife and I are the next in the line (1/29/2021 applicants) per spreadsheet.

Hello
I am a January 28, 2021 N400 applicant from Seattle, WA. Seattle is notoriously slow compared to the rest of the field offices. Just wondering which month’s of applications are getting processed here now. Will really appreciate if any of the Seattle applicants, who recently received interview notification let me know. Thanks
-
Did anyone receive interview notification recently? Trying to get an idea about which month’s applications are getting processed now. Thanks

I just got a notification this morning that my interview is scheduled for Dec! I filed on 8/3/2020. Looks like things are moving along.
My estimated complete time was 7 months yesterday, and now that I received my interview schedule it jumped to 13 months... Just don't take that estimate seriously.
Congratulations @nyahchen

Did any July/ August 2020 applicant receive the interview notification lately? Not seeing much updates in this group lately. Hope the Seattle office is still processing the cases at least at the same pace, if not quicker.

Filed July 2020. Got a notification yesterday that my interview date is being mailed to me.
Congratulations and Thanks for the update. Could you please update the spreadsheet at your convenience? Really helps us to estimate a timeline who are still waiting for the interview.

Has any July 2020 applicant received interview notice yet?
-
Just a friendly reminder to all-
We’ll really appreciate if you all could keep updating the tracking spreadsheet. It’s really helpful for us who are still waiting to get an idea about the timeline, specially since uscis processing timeline is pretty useless.
Thanks in advance.
