After your wife gets her IL and gets her Canadian passport, upload a copy of the passport bio page to CEAC.  I assume your wife wants her IR1 visa to be in her Canadian passport?  She should bring her Indian passport to the visa interview as well.

On the day of her interview, she should update the DS-260 info about other citizenships/nationalities, and add her Canadian passport details.  Make sure to volunteer this new information to the document checker prior to the interview or to the interviewing officer at the consulate in Montreal.

Hey Chancy, thanks for the reply!

    Here is the situation

    - Her canadian oath ceremony is on 6th Feb, and based upon the timeline from website it will take around 3-4 weeks to get her canadian passport
    - We got interview letter to Montreal on 8th March, so she has to do medical examination, the question is - does she needs to do on Indian or Canadian Passport ?
If it's canadian, she has to wait for 3-4 weeks and there would be a chance that medical doesnot come on time,
Should she go medical with Indian Passport ? ? Any thoughts on this ?

  2. Hello all,

I'm curious if anyone has experienced a situation like this before.

I am a citizen of the United States and have requested IR1 consular processing for my wife, who is of Indian descent but resides in Canada.
She recently got a call to take the Canadian Oath Ceremony, so next month she will change her citizenship status from Indian to Canadian.
We are currently in the NVC process, and are hoping to get an interview letter soon.

I am trying to search online, but cannot find a specific process on what should i do next in terms of NVC.
Should she undergo a medical examination based on her Indian or Canadian passport? Do I Have to Upload My Documents to the NVC Website?
Will her change of nationality affect the processing time?

Any help , link or experience on this situation is helpful

  3. Got DQ yesterday but

On the ceac website i received 2 messages

    1. All required applicant documents have been received and approved - "DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED"
    2. Document Case Review - "The Canadian Consulate requires that non-Canadian citizens submit proof of eligibility to have their visa interview in Canada. Currently, Canadian Legal Permanent Resident cards, landing papers, student visas and work visas are accepted for the Canadian eligibility requirement. Please submit this proof."

Homepage of ceac shows ALL documents  as ACCEPTED

I am not sure, what it means.. i am DQ'd and waiting for the interview or i need to provide document - review will happen and then will be in line for interview ?

Just had my submitted docs reviewed by NVC yesterday. All docs were accepted, but there was a “Case Document Review Note” telling me to upload my “proof of eligibility” to have my interview in Canada, given that I am a Chinese citizen living in Canada. So I uploaded the doc in 4 hours after this note. My question is, does anybody know if this would take them another 2 months again to review? Is this “case document review note” the same thing as “case FE review note”?

Same thing have happened to me,  i have not uploaded the document yet...trying to search more information, but if you happen to know anything please keep me updated. Thanks!

Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).) with email subject as 'Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified'

  9. Hello all,

I know that this topic is for March 2021 Online filler's but i just need some clarification.
The more search i do , more confuse i be

Just to clarify, instead of directly uploading digital passport photo's; it needs to be printed then scan the photo both side and then upload both side right ?
If so, how did you end up scanning the pictures? The 2x2 picture is scanned on a Letter format page so there's a big white gap, should I take that out?

Also, we have not lived together as my wife lives in Canada and i in US, we dont have same bank-account details or Leasing rent document, although we have made lot of trips together, so for bonafide marriage evidence we are submitting

    1. Marriage certificate
    2. Relationship Timeline pdf ( Story + Pics )
    3. Travel Tickets ( Flight tickets + Airbnb )
    4. Affidavit of Support from 3 common person stating our marriage is legal and bonafide.

Beside this any recommend for other evidence to be attached ?

    Thank you!
