Thank you for the quick response.  About the payment it’s not really a problem to pay extra as long as I get my passport same day of my appointment. What I am worried is the doctor note/letter if they ask in Dallas Passport Agency and I hope they are not asking for doctor note where I am going on July 7, @ 9 am is my schedule appointment. My emergency is my husband because he cant do it by himself and that is why we fly together from Dallas.

    Yes I Printed my :

    Confirmation number email

    Form DS - 11

    Itinerary Ticket and Payment receipt

    Naturalization Certificate

    DL

    Photo

Thank you again so much. I hope your mom is okay now.

I am sure it will be fine and please let us know how it goes.

Hi @eddieboo4321@gmai. I have a question and I hope you cal help me.
What if I’m coming to my husband to travel because he needs someone because he can’t do it by himself in general he needs help. Is that enough reason for the emergency, life/death or urgent to get my passport on the same day of my appointment? I do have itinerary ticket & Hotel reservation also and it’s my first time to apply for US passport just got naturalized last month.

Did you pay also expedited to get your passport on the same day aside from the reason is emergency?

My flight is on July 10, and my appointment on July 7, 9am.

    Thank you in advance.

you can use this calculator to check the fee

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/fees.html

but as long as you have flight confirm ticket and make sure you get a print out of flight itinerary and show them at the time of appointment otherwise they will not deal with that.

if you have not have made an appointment for passport at agency then call the 1 877-487-2778 and setup an appointment and let them know your situation (i told them my mother is sick and they asked if i have doctor note which i said i did with date and everything whatever they asked)... when i applied there were no dallas appointment available so i drove to Arkansas and get it done and told them i had an family emergency and they didnt see any letter or something. i am not sure id dallas people will ask to see doctor note or not but Arkansas people are very nice and its not far to drive...i did back n forth in one day because my flight was on next day after my ceremony but you have couple if days so you should be fine.

Hi everyone! I am a August 2020 filer. My interview has been scheduled for May 11th. I have a couple of questions, can my husband be present in my interview? And is there a way to request same day oath? How is this determined? As I see some people who have same day oath and some people have to wait for a letter with a date. Any help would be appreciated.

in both situation NO, because of Covid they are not allowing anyone else to attend Oath other then the candidates, and your oath date will be determined by the case at the time of interview.

as per US embassy in Russia.

    Entry and Exit Requirements

    • Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? No
      • The Government of the Russian Federation banned the entry of foreign nationals, including American citizens, with a few exceptions.
      • The ban does not apply to: airplane crew members, permanent residents of the Russian Federation who hold a valid residence permit, or transit passengers. In addition, the Russian government allows entry of foreigners for medical treatment or in order to care for relatives in Russia.
      • U.S. citizens who qualify as a “high-qualified specialist” on specific categories of work visas are allowed to enter Russia with the proper visa document.  They should coordinate with their employer in Russia in obtaining this type of visa.
      • U.S. citizens who hold a tourist visa and have family members in Russia (spouse, children, parents, etc.) are generally NOT allowed to enter under the current rules regarding Covid-19.  They should reach out to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Washington, DC, for their request to be considered.

you should contact Russian Embassy in US and find out the correct information .

    Hi everyone.

My wife successfully obtained a temporary (1 yr) stamp in her green card! So now she can visit family this summer. :) On the other hand, we're almost at two years with waiting for the interview, and starting to get a little concerned....

All that aside, I have a non-immigration question; I thought possibly one of you could help.

As an US citizen, what does it look like for travel from US-St.P Summer 2021? I'm having trouble pinning down concrete info. The Embassy says Do Not travel, but doesn't say travel is Restricted. Then I read a blog post that seemed to suggest an actual Ban on US national-Russia travel is currently in place.

Can anyone help clear this up for me or point me to the best source for this info?

you should follow the guidelines from this sites

I scheduled an appointment at USPS after I my oath. There was an opening two days later at the closest USPS so I booked that one. I did expedited and I got the book and card back about two weeks later (two separate envelopes a day apart). However, I am still waiting on the naturalization certificate to be mailed back. I hope they return it soon! It's very expensive and time consuming to replace.

    Thanks for letting us know..

First post for me, but I have been following this very useful Dallas thread for a few weeks now. I wanted to share my timeline.

March '20 - N-400 application sent in online

Then it was a long waiting game with no movement in my application till January '21

Jan '21 - New Biometrics done

Jan '21 - 'We scheduled an interview'

March '21 - Interview Approved and same day Oath in Irving!!

March 31 '21- passport book and card received (did expedited)

The next step is to update my SS. I called the SS office at the Dallas location but no one answers. I'm hoping it will automatically update in next few weeks, without me sending in any documents. Any input will be appreciated.

Thank you all and good luck! A lot of patience is required, but I think all of us will get there!

    Congratulations @bird_seeker_dalla,

can you please describe the process to get the passport after the oath? such as where you applied and how long it took days wise?

there are 2 of us here who wants to get the passport done right after our oath which is on Coming Friday.

I don't get what's the problem with applying at the US embassy in your birth country. I asked once here as it takes a long time and also there is not any available appointment at passport agencies per the DoS website, but most of people weren't comfortable about it. You would travel to your country and do the process there and this sounds a no brainer to me, if you need to travel and don't have time to wait 5-6 weeks for your passport and then wait for your passport card and naturalization certificate which might take over 2 months.

    @AlexUSA

"According to Section 215 of the U.S Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1185) it is illegal for an American citizen to enter or leave the U.S on anything other than an American passport. This applies to dual citizens as well"

some people saying its ok to get it done outside USA but i wouldn't take risk.

Thanks @eddieboo4321@gmai! I tried calling today and after a long wait (listening to all the announcements), I managed to reach a customer service representative and related to her that I have a ticket and had to travel urgently (internationally) on the 14th of April. I was told there were no appointments in Dallas, El Paso or Houston anytime between 9th and 13th of April.  The CS rep was pretty brusque and kept telling me to just go to the DOS Website and try to use the Online Passport Appointment System. Not sure what else to do. Sigh!

It really looks like the online passport appointment system is totally out of appointments everywhere in the US right now. Worst case scenario, could you exit the US on your foreign passport and book an appointment at the US embassy of wherever you're going and get your passport there? Embassies seem to have much more availability and faster turnarounds.

I have been thinking about it for sometime about the option to apply outside at the US Embassy as I have a passport I can use to Travel outside USA, but I will try my best to get the passport from Here first, that would be the last resort I think they will allow walk-in in this situation.

My mother is extremely sick and I just cant believe that they will not have an option for this type of situation.

what if someone just doesnt have another travel document? that is not right....

My husband and I filed our N400 on August 2nd, 2020, got a notice of biometric reuse on Jan 12th, and just received our interview notice for April 21st!

We both have interviews the same day, four hours apart. We're wondering what to do with the kids, if it'd make more sense to leave them home on their own, or to switch which parent stays with them in the car. Is there any chance the interview would take more than 4 hours?

I would suggest that both of you should go together at the sametime and maybe they will let you guys go at the sametime.

it happened to many people i know who went early on the same day and were allowed to have the interview.

There is no harm to try and i am sure they will allow. interview itself. doesnt take more then 15min after calling your name and last time when i was there the wait was not more then 30min...i am pretty sure they will. allow you guys to go together...

@DallasDreamy I saw one more number on there website i. am not sure if that can. help you or not but its mentioned to call after hours if life or death emergency (202) 647-4000.

its strange that they are not giving any appointment but putting that on the website. I will try to call both number myself. and if. that doesnt work. then i will go to office and will update you if the walk-in is allowed in this situation .

if that doesnt work i will be screwed.

@eddieboo4321@gmai - Did you have to call for an appointment? I have a non-emergency trip that is being scheduled (ticketed) for April 14 and each time I visit the DOS' Online Passport Appointment System to try to secure an appointment, all I get is  the message "No appointments are available due to limited capacity." I've widened the search from Dallas to Houston and Arkansas locations to which I may be able to drive, however I get the same non-availability message. Not really sure what to do.

@DallasDreamy, I was told to call 3-4 days before my trip so i am planning to call (877) 487-2778 late this week to get an appointment, and if they dont pick up then i will go to Agency myself on Thursday April 8th or maybe this Friday to talk to them and let them know, i am sure if noone pick up the phone then they will let us walk-in.

I am sure if they dont pick up the phone then they will allow walk-in, and on phone they have to give us an appointment if its "emergency" as per there site.

i wouldn't worry about checking website so just call them but DONT tell them its non-emergency otherwise they will not give you an appointment,  just let them know you have flight on April 14th and you have the ticket and its an emergency..

they dont ask any paper online or on the day of appointment to prove emergency except the airline ticket.

if you get a chance to talk to them before me please let me know, i will do the same.

If not, do it asap - USPS Schedule an Appointment

All around me, the earliest available date is Apr 22nd or 23rd. I finally found a USPS location about 50 miles away that has an opening for Apr 12th.

Actually i am planning to go to Dallas Passport Agency to get my Passport done in one day on April 12, as I need to make Urgent Travel for Family Emergency and have flight on April 13.

Checked my USCIS account and I have the same update - "Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed".

Wonder why I didn't get an text/email alert about it.

The Oath Notice will probably become available in 'Documents' by tomorrow.

I noticed that the Text or email comes little bit later after the update on there site sometime 12 hours late, (not good coding i guess).

But i am glad we all who have been in this Journey together got the final steps, and wish good luck to the others who are still waiting....

Additional Update: Oath Ceremony Scheduled April 9th. The Form N-445 just showed up in the documents tab. Hope and wish that @bzbee @eddieboo4321 and others who had the interviews during the 2nd week of February 2021 also receive their Oath Ceremony notices this week to attend their Oath Ceremonies. It would be so much fun to meet you all during the Oath Ceremony!

    Yaaaaay :

    "March 17, 2021

    Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed"

I just got this update at 11:35AM now

I am sure @bzbee you should have your update today, i will update the date as soon the noticed showed up on documents Tab

Received email from USCIS this AM that says "We have taken an action on your case and it needs your attention". The USCIS MyAccount portal shows "Oath Ceremony Noice was mailed" . Now the waiting starts for the  notice (PDF) to show up in the documents tab (or receive it via USPS). Not sure if the others who were interviewed in Irving USCIS office during the second week of Feb 2021 are seeing the same.

Your interview was on Feb 10th,  @bzbee and my interview was on Feb 11th just a day after yours, so lets see if they give us a good news this week I hope.

Congratulations for your Oath date and thanks for updating.
