I have recently filed for my step children as well. We did the I130 online and i submitted their bc, passport photo, my husband's bc, our marriage license, my bc, a letter from their now deceased mother giving my husband and his mother physical custody and a copy of her death certificate (they didn't ask for most of that, just wanted to make sure i submitted enough info). The I130 process took about 8 months to approve (TX center). We are now at the NVC stage. It took the cases about 1 week to be DQ'd, now we are patiently waiting for an interview
