  1. Guess what!!

I GOT MY VISA TODAY!! 104f439dbef97bad2ee2add4b549c2e1.gif

    We are so happy aec744e326504d9a5963137b9ddf9c89.gif

Everything was ok with my husband's financial papers. They just over-looked some of his financial info. He showed low income just because he spent some months with us in Ukraine - so did not work much time. But they over-looked his assets..

  2. Luda had her interview today and was approved. Needless to say, we are both extremely happy and looking forward to being together. I have asked Luda to summarize her interview experience to share with other Ukrainian VJ members. I will place it in the embassy review section as soon as possible. Good luck to all other VJers no matter what visa type or stage you're in.

  3. Hate to hear that, sounds like you got misinformation somewhere along the line, and the run around for no reason.

True.. Dan (my husband) called NVC twice asking if he needs a co-sponsor. They said "NO" ..

then at the embassy they said "YES"

Dan told me: "I could have showed more money for last year had they told me the correct info"...

Anyway I am not upset anymore. Dan just needs to "dig out" a co-sponsor somewhere 052ddf59a3436ffc8522826c1c4a5bea.gif.

I am sorry if I talk weird as I just translate some idioms from Russian.

  4. I started weaning my baby a few months ago and it wasn't easy at all, but keep in mind I was his human pacifier lol  BTW we are almost there, I have one session left (he likes to fall asleep on the breast for his afternoon nap) and then it's over, it is not going to be easy because he is at home with me and there is no one else around, but we'll figure it out.

Do one step at a time and be patient, it doesn't happen overnight but it does happen.

Hope it helps and good luck with whatever you decide. :star:

Thanks for the advice. I breastfeed only once a day before my baby falls asleep and of course at night as he sleeps with me. But now I think that it is worth it to breasfeed him for a few months more.

  5. I tried to wean my baby (1 year and 3 months year-old). Left him at my mom's place for two days. But during those 2 days both me and smy on were so unhappy. And i had so much milk in my breasts , had to pump it and throw away.

To make a long story short -- I resumed breast feeding.

People ask me if I plan to breastfeed him till he goes to army

Well I guess I will try to wean him again when he is 1,6 or 2 years.

  6. Mariya:

Hi, how did your flight schedule work out? Hopefully everything is ok for your travel to USA. Good luck.

I have not bought the tickets yet. Have my interview tomorrow. Though I looked for flights already. I did not want to fly via JFK 'cause they say it is pretty busy. But it is the shortest way to get to Nashville:

KBP-JFK-Nashville. So I guess I'll go for it.

  7. This topic might have beed discussed already.. What do you think about preventive vaccination? Is it worth giving shots to our babies? And is vaccination for kids free in US? (My son is 1 year old)

On another note. I have been breasfeeding for 1 year and 3 months. Now thinking about quiting.. Maybe too early? still doubting.. When did you quit breastfeeding?

  8. Fwaguy, zgt3344--- THANK YOU..

So I need to get ready for that flight to US morally first as I gonna go through all that with my little son (1 year old) by myself. I am definetely not looking forward to that day though I want to see my husband very much..

And I guess that I'll try to choose a flight with at least 2.5 hrs between the connecting flights in USA Again I appreciate your good advice.

  9. And one more quetion -what happens when you land in USA for the first time? what do the immigration officers do there? Just check my papers for 10-15 min? I am asking as after landing in US I have to fly further. And the time between the flights is about 1 hour and a half ... I can easily make it unless immigration takes long time.

  10. Hi, I also got my interview scheduled for Feb 27th!!!!

And I got a letter from NVC in the mail telling when my interview will be and what i need to bring with. One of the reminders says:

"If a sponsor filed I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with the proof of IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, the applicant must bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa interview".

What is that? Am I really gonna need that? (My husband filed I-864EZ to NVC and everything was fine with it).
