Hi, wanted to share an update on our timeline:

Biometric: 2/17/2021
Ready to be scheduled: 2/18/2021
Combo card: 05/20/2021
Interview scheduled: 07/01/2021
Interview canceled (transfer to different field office due to move): 08/03/2021
Interview re-scheduled: 08/06/2021
Interview: 09/10/2021
GC approved: 09/13/2021

Interview was fine, the officer was very straight-to-the point and professional. We had multiple address changes during the wait period, including a stretch of time where both me and my wife where in different states. The officer asked about that and made sure all addresses were correct. Then a few personal questions, updated financial information, and the usual immigration questions. Very laid-back. They did not approve on the spot, but we got the approval notice the next week, GC in mail a couple of days later. I was surprised that the multiple address changes did not delay this more than the month they actually did.

As a sidenote, out of paranoia we did in a full I-944 package in the submission, that is probably why we did not get an RFE in early 2021.

I hope that everybody gets approved soon!

Hi! Yeah, I went through pretty stressful job change during the last few weeks. But I do have an update. I had the biometrics appointment on 2/17/2021. Currently still deciding on whether to apply for STEM OPT extension---I had to delay until I started my new (and third) job on non-extended OPT. I am hoping that I get the EAD before it runs out. But have been advised by an immigration lawyer to apply for STEM extension anyway.

I just hope that with the admin change things will move a little quicker... Glad to see some folks already have interviews scheduled.

My first post here. Used some of the resources on this site to put together our (USC wife & me, German national) application package in Sep 2020. We are attempting an AOS from an F1 visa, currently working on OPT. Here's our timeline:

[2020-09-22] Sent in package (concurrent filing + i765/i131 applications) (tried to play it safe and included the i944, a day later it was made mandatory again...)

[2020-09-25] Received In Chicago Lockbox

[2020-10-14] Both checks cashed

[2020-10-15] Received E-mail Receipt notices

[2020-10-20] Received printed receipt notices in mailbox

Local office is in Fairfax, VA, looks like our case is handled by the National Benefits Center.

Seeing some of y'all get biometrics appointments is simultaneously making me hopeful and anxious about our application. Especially because I need the EAD to come through before my OPT runs out.

Does anyone know whether I can apply for the OPT STEM extension at the same time that there is another AOS-related i765 pending?
