If i am not wrong the CO took your passport.... and if its taken... dont worry ... the AP doesnt take more than 2 months.... for most countries.... you will and should get the visa according to me.

You can also do one thing.... loook how much time does it take an AP to get resolved in your local forums for your Country and Embassy.

lady jane is right....this is an AP and it will probably be more shorter I think... Less than A MONTH. I am sure it has gone for your name check .... guess something got to do with common names and stuff. Once your passport is taken.... dont worry.... it will come with visa stamped on it. Just pray it moves faster between washington and embassy here in India.

There are no Problems,,,,... I also did my air travel for the first time in my life... i guess you just have to keep eyes open... and ears open.. and listen to the crew and basically follow people... thats what i did.....the most important stuff is that one should tag their luggage bags .. so that they visible and traceable

And keep copies of passport and your boarding card safely with you

I dont think its any problem to carry jewellery which is for personal use. If you carry stuff which is for commercial use then you have to declare in the customs form and pay the duty. But since you will be carrying for personal use..... i dont think its any problem. Wear the jewellery as much as you can... and rest put in your onboard hand bag.

You can carry upto 10,000$... above that you can carry but the info will be passed on to the US State .... for precautionary anti money laundering stuff and etc.

whether its needed to go to the VFS to submit the documents... that would be still needed because the passport of yours will come to the VFS so you have to pay the courier feee.... another thing is what i feel.. still the Consulate in India would take the paper work ... may be photocopies of all the documents because some of them they keeep for their record and they return us all the originals.

I think we should confirm the same with the VFS...... for all the future applicants.

And The VFS lounge is I think is only till they drop of to your interview to the consulate.Please see their website for the same or call them.

wish i could see and read your timeline signaure here... would help you out.... these days CR and K3 visasa take more or less the same time.... i guess ur married...the best way is to go for the IR/CR visa..... so that you dont again have to adjustment of status once hubby is here with you.

just a background check about your last name...... because lots of immigrants with same last name and many common first name have immigrated...thats why many people from part of punjab , delhi and mumbai r denied or told to wait for their visas at time... just a normal administrative check up....... hope to get your passport with ur visa stamped on it...... be home and wait for it

how was the interview....didnt your wife ask to the CO ............... when she will be getting the visa or is your case under administrative processing or check...... if the CO has taken the PASSPORT... SHE WILL PROBABLY GETTING THE VISA....... keeep us posted..

I dont think so its worth to pay 200 bucks for 2 hours... where you get a locker to keep ur extra stuff like a bag and cell phone and all that stuff.... its better not to carry stufff which are not allowed in the consulate....Just carry your paperwork in a transparent plastic bag..with a ball point pen and a pencil with a small rubber. ... thats what i did... and here in mumbai they give you breakfast..... who has the time to have it when the whole mind is so nervous..... In the consulate there must be seating area and all stufff.... so i dont seee any point paying so much money for 2 hours....

Its only goood when our old aged people or women are with babies

Goood you submitted everything... i wanted to submit it too but the VFS guy was acting too smart with me and told me that you can bring all the evidence supporting your relationship at the time of the interview...... BUT BUT ... the consular officer didnt even see all the stufff i was carrying... instead i was handed out a 221 g ... which was ridiculous...... so its bettter to load alll the paperword mentioned in the checklist we receive we get with the interview letter.

i guess thats the same one i got... the I-551 ONE STAMP IS MENTIONED IN small line on the visa stamp given by the consulate on my passport. you better check out that on your wifes passport.
