  1. Hello,

I had a question regarding expediting. If someone expedite their case successfully in NVC stage, and gets sent out to Sydney embassy, does that also mean the interview process will also get expedited. Or will they have to apply a separate expedite request to Sydney embassy for the interview date.

I’m confused Because my friend in another country said their process was NVC approved expedite and petitioner can choose the date of their interview with the available dates. But in Australia how is the process of getting the interview date after being expedited in NVC stage.

    Thank you for your time.

Does anyone know the wait time for US Embassy in SG to send out and schedule IR1 interview?

I was DQ'ed on Jan 11th and I was wondering what the wait times are like for SG consulate.

    TIA

From what I’ve researched, the wait time seems to be very long. Specially during omricon surge.

i don’t know when things will pick up, you’re looking anywhere between 2 to 6 months. this can change depending what the embassy decides to.

Maybe try to send out an email to them. And check what is there response.

  3. Hi,

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but regarding Australian police certificate. did you scan only the front page. Or did you scan both the front and back page of the police certificate when uploading the documents.

Also when uploading police certificate, i have police certificate from two different countries. Do I upload them separately or make it into one file.

    Thanks 😊

Right now the consulate in Sydney is in the process of moving to a new building. They are sending their interviews to Melbourne and last I saw on their Facebook page there are a lot of people waiting for an interview.

Ohhh, thanks for the tip. I just checked their Facebook page, they did some in melbourne. Maybe because of too much back log. Do you have any idea how long is the wait time to book an appointment nowadays after DQ.

  5. Hi everyone,

I just got approved for our marriage petition. And moving to the NVC.

i am planning to get a police certificate in advance. I know I will need to choose option 33.

I am just posting, is there anything to look out for. And also can anyone explain to me the step by step process.

To my understanding, it’s fill the online application form. Print it. Take it to the local police station, complete the fingerprint. And email all the documents or is it mail all the documents, I’m not 100% sure.

  6. Hi everyone, our case finally in the approved stage, waiting for our NVC case number.

I was wondering would I be able to choose which embassy/consulate to give the interview in. There’s option of melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

I was wondering if any of them is faster than the other in terms of appointment times. Where would I be able to find that and if it’s possible to choose where to take the interview in. I currently live in melbourne.

    thank you for your time.

  7. Hi,

I was wondering if there’s any glitch or is this normal. Normally all other service centres have citizens date one year ahead of green card holders, my wife recently became a citizen. And we got married in 2019 September. And looking at the wait times, I’m just feeling a lot discouraged. Wait time 3 years even for citizens. I’m not sure what to do now.

Did they say why it was cancelled at the office?

I would send them on email on the online system to give them a nudge. That worked in my situation.

I had a cancelled Oath ceremony as they scheduled it for the field office in my old state, after it was cancelled, it just sat there for a month, and I emailed which got it moving again. I think it's easy for cases to get put aside and forgotten about at USCIS.

No they did not say why it was cancelled.

By emailing online system. Can you please explain what’s their email address or how do I find it.

is it by logging in the uscis account. Or is the my wife uscis service center.

thank you again for taking the time to help.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying that your wife had her N-400 interview, and was scheduled to have the Oath that same day in the office, but they cancelled it while she was waiting?

Did she receive a document after the interview with a box ticked at the bottom to say approved? What does her online case status say?

Yea correct.  Everything ticked. It stated on case status it’s been scheduled. And then later at the same date it stated oath ceremony has been canceled and it’s been like that for 3 weeks now.

  10. Hi, my wife’s Oath ceremony was ceremony cancelled the same day she did the interview. It’s been over three weeks. Her auntie, who gave the interview two days later than her. Already gave her oath ceremony. She called uscis and they said maybe due to covid, that they have limited seats. So they will put her on next batch.

However, her sister who gave interview last week, got her oath ceremony scheduled for mid September.

What can she do now, I haven’t seen my wife for very long now and after she updates from green card holder to citizenship, the marriage petition will process faster.

thank you for your time, any help would be appreciated.

  11. Hi,

my wife applied for me in oct 2019 and we are only at the first stage still. This is due to because she is green card holder, she will be receiving her citizenship within may 2020.

my question is there anyone with advice that by updating the green card to citizenship. Is it the same time as would’ve applied as she became citizenship, or does that 1 year and 6 months of waiting counts toward anything at all?.

Also, if anyone from Australia is reading this, it would be a great help if you could share your timeline, any advices such as I read on another post that Choose the 33. And not 35 on police verification is important or they will reject. These tiny little things, any useful advice for me to be ready. Would be great.

thank you so much for your time.
