  1. I'll give you a brief history, I've had 3 kidney operations one gullbladder removal,5 kids all healthy and alive and well last 2 were twins all this while I had been sick with my kidney over the years and had my tubes tied. Ok question is I had my right kidney removed back in 1997 do to cronic infection from the 2nd surgery 11 years earlier,Will this be an issue for my medical?

I am in perfect health now and have been since the 1997 surgery,I'm very active still ride my horses, and still participate in shows, barrel racing & dressage, I walk everyday rain or shine.

Should I get a letter from my family doctor stating that I'm fine even though I will have ALL my medical records with me ( they go every where I go) when I go for my medical?

  2. Here! Here! I will be glad to get back home and Just stay there,,honestly ppl,why even bother goin through all this knowing what you know about the whole process then turn around get to where your goin only to complain that you can't come back when ever the mood strikes you,, I'd give anything to be in your shoes (already in the US)!

I love my kids and my family with all my heart, I told all of them it could be awhile before I see them again and they are ok with that because worst comes to worst they can always come to visit me,but there is also the computer that allows us to talk everyday if needed, but right now all I can think about is the time that my SO and I are missing out on while we are waiting for the USCIS to get off their buttts, I WANT TO GO HOME,!!! But thats my rant for the evening! In the words of my SGT nephew in the canadian armed forces once said SUCK IT UP PRINCESS!!!!

Hi Laynie. I think when you've experienced the death or serious illness of a loved one, and have to go through the heart-rending process of attempting to procure emergency advanced parole during a highly stressful time in order to be with your family, you would understand why it is upsetting.

Don't forget that not everyone has an awareness of the ins and outs of the various family visas and their individual restrictions when they begin this process. Hindsight being 20/20, some of us would have chosen other options.

    Good luck in your process.

    I apoligize for my comments

had no intentions or implying that you don't miss you families and such,

Yes I have experienced the death of a loved one ( my oldest sons father) And I was unable to get where I needed to be before he passed from injuries due to car crash, he was in a different province, and I could not get to him, so yes I do know what it is like to try your hardest to get where you need to be and can't get there! Even though it was not USICS that I had to deal with but it might as well have been! but that is a whole other story that I'd rather not go into!

I guess all that i was saying is that it's all part of the process, all the filings and what have ya,and we,

ALL know that USCIS does not give a rats a$#%^ about what our emergencies are,in a nut shell I'm jealous of all of you who are where you are in this process, and just wish that it was me!

My kids are all over the country of Canada, doing varies things in their lives and I'm alone at least for now,and Being an army brat myself I guess I'm just use to not having the family around doesn't mean i don't miss them, and yes we've all had hind sight in this process , I too would have gone a different route had I known what I know now!

Well guess I can't explain myself any longer, again I apoligize!

  3. back in U.S...................................thanks for all info....................good luck

p.s....................TRANSFER TO VANCOUVER, IT IS EASY. ALL YOU NEED IS ADDRESS IN WESTERN CANADA.!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you and you SO, glad you are finally home!! and thanks again for the info you have givin me!!

  4. here i am thinking the main thing to focus on is that we are together with our spouses. isn't that all the matters? isn't that what this whole thing is about? concentrate on your life together...wherever that may be. if you're together, screw everything else. don't even think about it. this process is about love, not convenience or pride and heck even justice, lol.

worry about building a life together instead, everything else will come :)

  5. The fact that you knew your partner before you came and got married will not be an issue when you do AOS... I have known my husband all my life.... my parents and his parents have been friends since both our mum's were school penpals... they were 13 years old when they started to write to eachother through a school programe...

I have spent just about every summer in Boston since I was a young child and grew up along side my now husband... We are both in our late 40's and I have been married before... I came over here in Feb 2005 to spend some time with his family to help me recover from major surgery.... I dont know what was diffrent this time but we fell in love in a very fast period of time.... we were married on April 9th 2005 and filed for AOS and I-130 in May 2005, we were approved at interview in Nov 2005 and are now lifting conditions... I was never asked at our interview about how long we had known each other or what my intent was when I entered the US...

Most of the people on VJ who have done AOS from a VWP/tourist visa or just came from Canada have not been asked to prove their intent at entry... most of the time it is never mentioned at interview...

    Kez

But how is it that you were able to marry but not return to Canada during the process?

We had thought about doing it that way but we didn't want deportation hanging over our heads, you mean to say that you went for a visit got married stayed in the states and filed for AOS and nothing was said to you at your interview!???

  6. APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PIECE OF CAKE....................STOP WORRYING AND IF YOU CAN TRANSFER TO VANCOUVER , THEY ARE AWESOME AND SOOOOO LAID BACK. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL AND NOW I AM GOING TO SIT SIT DRINK .....................CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS JOANNE FOR ALL INFO, I'LL EMAIL LATER

WOW!!!! that is so Awesome Congrats to ya both,,after ya come down from the clouds you'll have to fill the rest of us in,,we nned to know EVERYTHING!!!!!

Again congrats to ya both HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I didn't really want to say anything before we had all the good news, but here goes. :)

A few weeks ago, Bee got word that a position in his company was opening up due to some management shuffling. Funnily enough, this is the same position that he'd applied to six months ago, but was passed up for another person. His boss said that he'd only put Bee's name into the list of recommendations this time, and then we played the waiting game.

We found out on Friday that Bee is getting the promotion

Since then, we've discussed our options and have decided that I'll be moving over in November, which is WAAAAAAAAY earlier than we thought. (And I am so thrilled because I miss Bee like mad :D and leaving my increasingly unbearable living situation early is fantastic.) Which means... omg panicking what do I need to do?!

    Here's my list so far:

    • obtain driver's abstract
    • changing addresses
    • cancelling cellular phone service
    • EI and all that jumbledy
    • banking stuff
    • contacting BC MSP for non-residency
    • selling/recycling/donating non-essentials
    • packing my life into boxes
    • figuring out how to get my boxes to PA
    • wondering how I'm going to ship a computer
Am I missing anything :P and who wants to be the first for awesome advice and big yippees? :D

    Hey Nina,

Are you from vancouver? I am on my way there tomorrow for interview on wed. We are staying at travelodge by airport because chris gets in later than me. Is there shuttles or public transportation going dpwntown from airport. My first time being in Vancouver so just curious...........

    thanks,

    Mary Lou

Hi Sutton Just wanted to wish you good luck on your interveiw,,let us all know how it goes!!

    Best of luck!

  8. ya shoulda pm'ed me and given me a time schedule to post :P

Oh, but this way was more entertaining :P

As much as I miss my SO I am truly grateful that he is NOT over seas where our soldiers from both sides of the border are at this moment, I' just keep telling myself that this will come to end,but at least he isn't in any danger of getting killed at any moment!

I was watching TV last night a show called the homefront, it profiled five familes and the sacrafies they've had to make while their SO is over seas for several months at a time and not knowing for sure if they were gonna come home alive, my niece and her husband were profiled on this show, she miscarried their baby and he had to find out via e-mail, And ya know after watching that I realised just how lucky I am because if we are missing each other more then we can stand then he can just jump on a plane and fly up for a weekend or call several times a day if needed where as our soldiers and their familes don't have that option! So as much as I miss him and as lonely as I get sometimes I just think of all those families who are apart from each other because they are defending our countries to keep us safe, then I don't feel so bad then, because I know that he is safe! What we are goin through doesn't seem all that bad after all! Because we do know that it will come to an end at some point,so chin up it could be alot worse, like other posters have said keep busy and it will work out in the end!

  9. If I remember correctly- another poster mentioned that the Doctor in Calgary no longer does immigration physicals.

Dr Chana in Edmonton is still there- he is the one I went to.

The person in Calgary is still there, it was the one in Saskatchewan that quit - the original post is here:

    Hey,

Yes i moved to fort macmurray for work as well and contacted vancouver and asked could they put in a tranfer for me to montreal. By the time i got to Fort Mc my file was transferred and my appointment booked for interview..............It all happened within 2 weeks. If you can get in touch with NVC before file is even sent to Montreal , they will just send it straight to vancouver.

Myself and chris received our interview for sept 5 whereas if we had to wait for Montreal, it would have been december.

good luck and no harm in trying........MAry lou

This question is for Sutton: I read somewhere about the visa fee is to be paid at the Scotia bank is that true or do I pay the fee at the Vancouver Consulate like at MTL? Just curious if it is different out there! Our lawyer is gonna have our petition transferred to Vancouver! Also when you moved to Fort MAC did you get your DL changed over to Alberta liscence or did you just keep your Ontario liscence,I'm just wondering if I should change mine since I won't have a car out there I doubt I will be driving because I can either use transit system or get my kids to haul me where I need to be,does it really matter, will Consulate be lookin at drivers liscence??

Thanks Marylou in advance for any answers you might be able to provide!

  10. you vancouvers make me SICK!

    kidding! happy-smiley-628.gif

it is definitely not fair for you MTL filers. :(

Well count me in on Vancouver, I am goin to see my kids in Alberta and to work for awhile till we can get this process done SOOOO we are having our lawyer make the arrangements to have our papers transferred to Vancouver instead of them goin to MTL after we get our approval so I am very happy,,and I really lookin forward to seeing all 5 of my kids!!!

  11. Thanks everyone for your replies, now with that beng said our petition is still at CSC wouldn't it make more cents to request the transferr there even before it gets to the NVC or the MTL Consulate!

But yes I will likely be goin that route just because I will be out there and it would just more convienent for me oh and sooo much faster then waiting for MTL!!!

Don't know what I'd do without all you on here,it's because of you guys that my sanity is still intact,at least so far,,Thanks again everyone for your input!!!

Oh and thanks for the doctor info that also helps!!!!!!!

It's the NVC who sends it out to the consulates so you'd have to wait until it got to the NVC or MTL. I've read of people trying to change their beneficiary's address while the petition is pending but not sure how successful that is since USCIS is not good about these things!

And for the Montreal people waiting, one less person going through Montreal means another slot opens up. :)

Good news e-mailed lawyer and they said that it would not be problem that they just need to be on top of it once we get the approval and petition is forwarded to the NVC all i have to provide is phone number and address!

Gosh now you guys have me all excited :dance::dance: So looks like I'm goin through Vancouver,

Thanks so much you guys you rock! Can't wait to tell my fiance!!

  12. Dear Penthouse Letters,

You will not believe what happened to me as I hardly believe it myself....

She's not like that really, she doesn't even like nudity in movies. She grew up with the best friend and they were always really close, like sisters. Funny thing is, they both seem very conservative. They both want to have kids and have traditional lives. It's just this one little thing. She said if I agreed to go along with it and join them, nobody would ever know.

But now we all know! So much for privacy and the sanctity of marriage and all that bollocks.

Well thats exactly why i asked the question here! Its anonymous. I cant really talk to anyone in person about this. Its too embarassing. People will just think she did that because I am not enough for her (isnt that the standard joke?). In reality this has been going on for a while. Honestly, in bed with me she seems totally normal, so I cant figure it out.

If ya want us to say ya go ahead it's ok then ya we will go for it!

BUT If ya want us to say R U CRAZY then ok we will your CRAZY!!

    Enough said!!!!!!

  13. Transfer, TRANSFER!!!!! Seriously. :)

Even if you don't catch it in time at NVC, you can contact Vancouver *and* Montreal to get your file over to Vancouver. You need to contact both of them as Vancouver as to agree and Montreal has to send it.

  14. :help: Hey everyone hope someone can answer my questions?

I am goin to Fort MacMurry Alberta for an extended period of time, one to visit my kids and two to work while I am waiting on this K-1 stuff, I will be goin through the Montreal Consulate for my interview,BUT

I would like to know where the nearest USCIS approved doctor might be out in the Edmonton or Fort MacMurry area if there is one ? Where can I find the list of the doctors for this,I have found one here in london Ontario but if I can get an appointment with one out west while I'm out there then I really wouldn't have to come back here for that!

Another question: If I were to have our papers transferred out to Vancouver how much of a hassle would it be? Given that we have not yet recieved our NOA2 yet, would it be possible to catch it even before it leaves the CSC to have the consulate location changed??

I would certainly appreciate any assistance any of you could offer!!

Thank You so much for your time in advance!!!

  15. My husband guessed she was in her 30's lol

I don't think men are always after young girls :P My hubby is 4 years younger than I am (and twice as mature).

My girl  My is just 2 years younger

My first hubby was 6 years older then me,that didn't work out but got 5 great kids out of the deal, second hubby was 6 years younger then me and got a real headache out of that one,

So goin with so to be hubby #3 same age as me and it's workin better then the first 2 put together so ya this is it for me found my mister wonderful and ain't lettin hm go!!!!!!!!

  16. Does anyone now why there is a back log at MTL? Are they booking one interview per day or what?

I have a while to wait but just curious! Haven't seenanything on VJ regarding this subject!

  17. dang, just looked at my timeline, it jumped from dec 3rd to Dec 15th!!!

all in 2 days. what's up with that? im going to stop looking at that if it just going to continue to move back. even the CSC dates dont put my time line that late. the average is 120 days. thats NOV for me.

    Chris

Has ANYONE from Canada got their NOA2's yet that filed in May,because all the ones that I've come acrossed so far are from other parts of the world if there are ones from Canada I'd like to see them,

least then it would give me some hope in all this,,either that I may consider moving to a different country,,oh wait guess even thats out of the question with this K-1 still pending, cause if I could I'd just move to Texas like I'm trying to do now!!LOL!! Come on CSC lets' gedder done' already!!!! we all have lives to get on with!!!!! :ranting:

  18. Trust is fluid. I trust my doctor with my health, but I wouldn't necessarily trust him with my house. I trust my car with my life everyday I drive, but I wouldn't marry it. With marriage, a basic trust (along with honesty) in each other lays the ground work to be able to withstand the trials of marriage. Little things can gnaw away at that trust - such as a wife asking her husband to pick up her clothes from the cleaners and he forgets. He might be a terrific husband who loves her loyally, but he just sucks at remembering things. Can she trust him with getting to the cleaners without her constantly reminding him? Probably not. Does that make the marriage not work...I don't think so. In fact, I think later on after being married for several years, such things will be found to be endearing as both of them will be able to look back at him never remembering to go to the cleaners for her, laugh and tell him he's such a forgetful fool (affectionately of course).

I think that's a different kind of trust that borders on knowing your partner and his/her weaknesses...can I trust him to not forget to go to the cleaners? would not be a question I would hinge a successful marriage on.

What I'm really getting at is trust with the big things....to be faithful (if that's your arrangement...some might differ), with having your back, always being there, and NOT lying to you, etc.

Could you marry someone you felt was lying to you?

Trust is like building a house, first you have to build the foundation then brick by brick you build the walls .
