  1. Hey Everyone! Got a ? just wondering if NVC close on the weeknds or do they work over the weekends as well!

Hope they do but I doubt it, it will be 3 weeks this coming Monday since our approval, and just hoping that things do keep moving, our papers still haven't reach NVC yet!

I've e-mailed twice and phoned once but was told to wait another week! GRRRRR! Got an e-mail this morning from a VJ'er saying that they called USICS and was told that CSC does not hang on to the petitions once they are approved, that they are sent by FED-EX like company to the NVC same day of the approval, that the petitions are bar coded and everything to avoid getting lost, well if thats the case then where on earth are the petitions if CSC doesn't have them and NVC doesn't have them, the question is who has them??? The VJ poster that PM'd me was RICKER!

And our NOA-2 also says that it was sent to NVC on the 15th of Oct.

I'm having a hard time being patient as I'm sure so is everyone else! Our lawyer says that if we haven't heard from NVC in 30 days of the approval to let them know, although I don't see how thats gonna make a difference since they wouldn't even believe us when we called to tell them that we got the approval, they had to varify it first LOL before they would believe it,they were lucky it was me on the phone with them at the time!

Anyway now I'm rambling, so if anyone might have info as to whether or not NVC works on the weekends would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Have a good one, take care & stay safe!!

  2. Hey everyone! Hope ya'll had a great halloween!

Have a question for anyone who is or has gone through Vancouver,When do they break for X-mas Holidays?

Just wondering really, but have a feeling that it would be around that time that we'd be getting the interview,

don't know why I feel it but I do so I'm going with it,HE!HE! it's never let me down yet!

So if anyone here knows any info would be greatly appreciated for sure!

Have a good one take care and stay safe!! Thanks in advance!

Looks like they are only closed on Christmas day? Following is a list of United States and Canadian holidays which will be observed by the Embassy and constituent posts in 2006-2007

Thanks for the replies, there maybe be some light at the end of this tunnel after all, like I said i have a feeling that, thats when we will be having our interview or maybe just wishful thinkin but I'm goin with it anyway, makes me feel better, that I JUST MIGHT be home for x-mas!!!!

There is power in prayer for sure!!! and thats just what I've been doin ALOT lately! But hey whatever works is fine by me!!

Take care everyone and stay safe!!!

  4. I see that you filed your petition at CSC.

There is a thread where April and May filers are keeping track of their progress after the NOA2 and it looks like CSC filers are waiting upwards of 30 days for the transfer to NVC. Here is the link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89367

Someone called sometime in September and was told that the contractors who were supposed to transport the petitions to NVC was running 2 weeks behind schedule

Thank you soooo much for that info I feel a little better so if thats the case then 2 more weeks to go but I'm still gonna keep my fingers crossed, and do alot of prayin I have a feelin though that we are close so I could very well be ho,me by X-mas!!1 GOD I HOPE SO!!!

  5. Hey everyone ! Just wondering if anyone knows how the USCIS sends our petitions? Do they send them by snail mail ? Or do they send by courier service?

Because according to our approval letter, it says that our petition has been forwarded to the NVC,but that was 2 weeks ago,so either they still have it or they are feeding us BS and still have it!

God you'd think that they send them out just as soon as we got the approval since we've all had to wait so long to begin with, god why do they want us to wait even more!,It just amazes me that the government can even run the country, cause they sure are slow when it comes to everything else! Sorry for venting I know we all getting fed up with all this, I'll just be REALLY glad when I can go home for good!

Thanks for you patience guys! Surely we are all close to the end of this part of the BS!

  6. Thanks everyone for the input I called got the automated thingy but no sign of our papers yet or maybe I should have talk to someone oh well I'll keep checking from time to time it will be 2 weeks Monday but lawyer says give it at least 3o days before they can check into it honestly why does the gov. have to move soooo dam slow, in this day and age you'd think with our tech things would be quicker, gotta love love the computer age,huh oh ya yhey are still doin it the old way!!! :crying:

  7. Hey everyone! does Anyone who got approved lately know how long it is taking the NVC to do their thing before sending papers on to the consulate? We got approved on Oct 15th,and recieved complemetary copy of hardcopy(certified copy sent to our lawyer) saying that our papers had been sent to the NVC as of that date,if'n that is true any idea as to how long they are taking?

I want to call tomorrow but don't know if I should or should I wait a little longer? Any advise would be appreciated for sure! We are close I can feel it, I'd just like to know how close! HE1HE1HE It's getting to cold here in Alberta I want to go home to Texas where it's nice and still very warm!!!

  8. CSC to NVC is taking some time. Some have been waiting upwards of 30 days: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=89367&st=0.

The contact number is (603) 334-0700, 1, 5 to talk to someone. Not sure if you can call it from Canada.

    Good luck!!

Thank you for your reply! I really appreciate it, we will give a few days then maybe will start trying to call NVC to see if our petition has arrived there yet!

  9. Hey everyone! Approval newbie looking for the number for the NVC? and can I call it from Canada? The reason I ask is because I tried to call CSC once and the call could not be made from area (ie; Canada) so wondering if it's the same for NVC! Anyone know how long it takes from CSC to NVC, I guess everyones is different, but would just like to have an idea, we were approved Oct 15th.

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!

  11. Hey All, one question do we need the finger prints with the certificate or not I read somewhere that it wasn't needed at this time just the clearance cert. TRUE/FALSE!

Went to FT McMurray RCMP the other day, they said for most of the ones that they give require finger prints,

but I don't need proof of reason for needing it the cost is $15.90 and can have it in 5 business days, but really would like to know for sure it finger prints are need with this certificate,so can anyone respond it would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and lets hope for MORE approvals!

    Hi Laynie,

If the beneficiary has a criminal record you will need to get the fingerprint version. If no record - then the Canada wide name check is just fine.

Thanks so much guys for your replies no crimiinal record so I'm good to go then thanks for the info!

  12. When Doug went to the RCMP Office in Windsor, they told him he had to bring his Interview letter or DS156k confirming that he needs a certificate for immigration....and $25 in cash. I don't recall reading this requirement on VJ, so I thought I'd post just in case.

Yar, that was the case when I went to the RCMP detachment in Vancouver. Depending on where one goes to get the police certificate (whether it be from RCMP, Commissionaires, or local police station) the packet 4 letter may be needed to prove that it's needed for documentation.

On another note, seems like the RCMP likes to charge people differently for their police certificates. I had to pay $40 for mine. -_-

  13. Hey guys how ya'll doin !just lookin for e-mail address and phone number for CSC anyone out there have it?

I know it's on here somewhere but I can't find it so if someone could point me in the right direction it would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have a good one everybody and lets hope we get some more approvals, especially lookin for mine LOL,but surely we should all get them soon!!!!

  14. my fiancee is from Canada and our date is May 11...we did not get our NOA1 till AUG. and we do not have the NOA2....Has your fiancee tried to cross the border into the US during the process? if so what happen...were they able to go across?

I the fiance who does live here in Canada, no I have not tried to cross because when I went to Texas back early May before we filed our papers they told me at the border in Sarnia that once we filed for the K-1 chances of being able to cross again without the visa were slim to none because we would be in system, but others have crossed with no problems at all,and besides I wouldn't be able to go any more this year anyway because I spent 6 months in Texas and that is the alotted time that we are aloud to stay, but I will tell you this if we haven't got our visa yet by the January then darn straight I'm gonna to try to cross as long as I have all my paper work showing that we are waiting for the visa that is a good indication that I would be returning to Canada but man I'm prayin like the dickens that we have at least by the first of the year!!

So good luck in your indevers, and there are a ton of post on here about traveling to the US while K-1 is pending check them out!!!

  15. do you ever wonder how many fraudulent people have passed through VJ? Just makes you wonder.....hmmmmmmm

I just wonder how it is that they can get through everything, when you look at what we have to go through to prove to USICS the our relationships are for real how can the frauds get through without being detected and not only that but the time it takes to get it done hummm!

Gotta love our countries, we are all ligit here ( at least I think and hope) we all want to go home!!!

So come on USICS push us through the way it looks like you did with the frauds!!!

  16. I feel for you all that are awaiting your approvals.... but back in 2004, I waited 6 months for the NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wondered if they had something against Canadians back then, too.

    Good luck for speedy approvals.

thanks for that reply I don't feel so bad now, I'm goin crazy now I can't even imagine how you felt back then!

My problem is that when I want something done I want it done yesterday, me and patience DO NOT get along LOL Just ask my fiance,LOL!!!

Luckily I'm leaving for Alberta tomorrow morning to see my kids and to find work just so I can kill sometime, hopefully approval will come soon,I'm keeping my fingers crossed and doin ALOT of praying!

  17. First congrats to all the May Filers who have been approved so far,Keep'em comin!

I was Just wondering if anyone has noticed, and it may just me but I was lookin on the the K-1 timelines for approvals and I only seen one approval from Canada, all the rest are from other different countries and thats great I'm happy for them,But does USICS have something against Canada or what,

we'd like to see some come our way to! Anyone from Canada notice this trend? Or is it just me being envious?

  18. Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On May 21, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice.

THIS (ABOVE) IS WHAT IT SAYS ON THE USCIS WEBSITE. WE MAILED THE 129F TO TEXAS ON 9TH MAY, CAL RECIEVED IT ON THE 21ST MAY AND THAT'S THE DATE WE USE. PATSY SAYS THERE IS NO DATE ON THE NOA1, WHICH SHE RECEIVED ON JULY 30TH! SURELY WE SHOULD BE USING THE DATE QUOTED ON THE WEBSITE?

JUST MY OPINION AND I HOPE YOU'RE WRONG ABOUT USING THE NOA1 DATE.

Well if thats the case then our date should be May 21st not June 4th as the USCIS website says! Hey I'm all for that for sure!

Maybe I should change my timeline to reflect that what do you guys think!!

When I first read the web site then I seen the NOA1 hard copy it says our priority date is May 21,2007, So I don't know if we are May filers or June filers which is it??

    Can anyone help?
